Day 3, Part 2: MK Again!
Now, the main goal of going back to the MK was to see Wishes. I love Wishes SO much, and was even planning on walking down the aisle to the music from it for awhile. But, of course we also wanted to do some other things... but the wait for everything was SO long! We've been to Disney so many times that we hardly ever wait longer than 20 minutes for anything, so we're a little difficult to deal with.
We tried to go on POTC but it was closed, and the lines for Splash and BTMRR were in the 50-75 minute range. We hobbled through Fantasyland, and I think we decided to see Philharmagic, but I really have no idea: that might have been the next day too. But, let's just pretend it was Saturday, okay? Either way, I snapped some pictures of Beast's castle!
You are no match for me, well placed trees!!!
I'm SO excited for FLE. I've already decided that I'm going down as SOON as I possibly can when it opens, and I'm going to stay in one of those POR princess rooms for the occasion. I haven't even read anything about Disneyland's TLM dark ride, as I want to be surprised.
When I was in the World in March, they were still doing the construction on the Winnie the Pooh queue. But, it's all done now, and it looks SO good! I'm really impressed. Here's an awful picture of it with some random kids, but you get the general idea:
Oh! I forgot! At some point, we had dinner--- ice cream sandwiches from Sleepy Hallow!
Mmmmmmmmmm.
After Fantasyland, we went over to Tomorrowland to do our favorite no-wait rides: TTA and CoP. We did TTA twice, and it was nice and relaxing, and we caught some of MSEP from the top--- can't beat that. And I love CoP; I quote "Papa, I'm indecent!" and "Don't tell us about the olden days when you didn't even have a CAR PHONE" pretty much all the time. Also, when I took the GRE, for the writing section I had to write about the idea of "progress".... and all I could think of was Uncle Orville.
Then, it was finally time for Wishes! We managed to get a non-horrendous spot, even though Main St was completely mobbed. Also saw the Magic, Memories and You show again, but I'm still not impressed. The song is way too corny, but that's just me! Wishes was amazing as usual.
After Wishes, we hobbled back to the bus and didn't even have to wait forever for a bus--- I even got to sit down! All in all, Day 3 was pretty good, albeit hot and crowded... but well, it IS Disney in August, so what else could I have expected?!?
Mini-Rant
Anyway, I do need to rant a little bit. The first thing you should know is that my family is not a group of Disney fans, not in the least bit. My grandparents are, and they're the ones who took me when I was growing up, but my parents don't really like WDW. I talked to my mom earlier today (who finally booked her room at Pop for the wedding), and she was pretty annoyed with me when she found out that Pop is nowhere near our ceremony site. She told me that she was under the impression that all of the hotels were chosen "for the wedding" and that they should all be close to the site. I tried to explain to her that all of the hotels close to Sea Breeze Point cost $300 and upwards a night, but she just wasn't listening. She then asked me if Pop was near "any rides," and seemed even more annoyed when I told her that no, no it wasn't. I told her it wasn't because it cost $80 a night, and she told me that shouldn't matter, as you have to pay to get into the park anyway. She also informed me she wouldn't be going to the MK, and said so in a sort of snobby, "the-MK-is-below-me" way which really irked me, because I love the MK more than I love most things.
I'm not entirely sure what my mom wanted me to do, it's not like I could call Disney and tell them to move Pop closer to SBP! I explained to her that I would be providing transportation to the wedding, but again, she didn't really seem to grasp that part.
Anyway, I just got to thinking how sad I am that I don't really have any... parental support in planning this wedding. My mom even told me that she wasn't very excited for my wedding because Chris and I have been together for so long.
My dad gets stressed out whenever I mention the "w-word" because he's paying for the whole thing, and my FMIL, as well know, doesn't particularly enjoy me. I hate to say this, but I actually get pretty jealous when I read other PS TRs with mothers and FMILs; I really wish I had that.
Still, I am thankful for all of you who read this PJ, and I am really thankful for Becky and Richelle too.
All right, enough of that. I'll post our final day tomorrow! Thanks for reading!
