Jackie and Chris's Wishes Wedding 1/6/12: SBP/Attic/SCP 5/11 Final Post- PJ Finished

Day 3, Part 2: MK Again!

Now, the main goal of going back to the MK was to see Wishes. I love Wishes SO much, and was even planning on walking down the aisle to the music from it for awhile. But, of course we also wanted to do some other things... but the wait for everything was SO long! We've been to Disney so many times that we hardly ever wait longer than 20 minutes for anything, so we're a little difficult to deal with.

We tried to go on POTC but it was closed, and the lines for Splash and BTMRR were in the 50-75 minute range. We hobbled through Fantasyland, and I think we decided to see Philharmagic, but I really have no idea: that might have been the next day too. But, let's just pretend it was Saturday, okay? Either way, I snapped some pictures of Beast's castle!

You are no match for me, well placed trees!!!

I'm SO excited for FLE. I've already decided that I'm going down as SOON as I possibly can when it opens, and I'm going to stay in one of those POR princess rooms for the occasion. I haven't even read anything about Disneyland's TLM dark ride, as I want to be surprised.

When I was in the World in March, they were still doing the construction on the Winnie the Pooh queue. But, it's all done now, and it looks SO good! I'm really impressed. Here's an awful picture of it with some random kids, but you get the general idea:

DSCN0124.jpg

Oh! I forgot! At some point, we had dinner--- ice cream sandwiches from Sleepy Hallow!

DSCN0125.jpg
Mmmmmmmmmm.

After Fantasyland, we went over to Tomorrowland to do our favorite no-wait rides: TTA and CoP. We did TTA twice, and it was nice and relaxing, and we caught some of MSEP from the top--- can't beat that. And I love CoP; I quote "Papa, I'm indecent!" and "Don't tell us about the olden days when you didn't even have a CAR PHONE" pretty much all the time. Also, when I took the GRE, for the writing section I had to write about the idea of "progress".... and all I could think of was Uncle Orville.

Then, it was finally time for Wishes! We managed to get a non-horrendous spot, even though Main St was completely mobbed. Also saw the Magic, Memories and You show again, but I'm still not impressed. The song is way too corny, but that's just me! Wishes was amazing as usual. :)

After Wishes, we hobbled back to the bus and didn't even have to wait forever for a bus--- I even got to sit down! All in all, Day 3 was pretty good, albeit hot and crowded... but well, it IS Disney in August, so what else could I have expected?!?

Mini-Rant

Anyway, I do need to rant a little bit. The first thing you should know is that my family is not a group of Disney fans, not in the least bit. My grandparents are, and they're the ones who took me when I was growing up, but my parents don't really like WDW. I talked to my mom earlier today (who finally booked her room at Pop for the wedding), and she was pretty annoyed with me when she found out that Pop is nowhere near our ceremony site. She told me that she was under the impression that all of the hotels were chosen "for the wedding" and that they should all be close to the site. I tried to explain to her that all of the hotels close to Sea Breeze Point cost $300 and upwards a night, but she just wasn't listening. She then asked me if Pop was near "any rides," and seemed even more annoyed when I told her that no, no it wasn't. I told her it wasn't because it cost $80 a night, and she told me that shouldn't matter, as you have to pay to get into the park anyway. She also informed me she wouldn't be going to the MK, and said so in a sort of snobby, "the-MK-is-below-me" way which really irked me, because I love the MK more than I love most things. :( I'm not entirely sure what my mom wanted me to do, it's not like I could call Disney and tell them to move Pop closer to SBP! I explained to her that I would be providing transportation to the wedding, but again, she didn't really seem to grasp that part.

Anyway, I just got to thinking how sad I am that I don't really have any... parental support in planning this wedding. My mom even told me that she wasn't very excited for my wedding because Chris and I have been together for so long. :( My dad gets stressed out whenever I mention the "w-word" because he's paying for the whole thing, and my FMIL, as well know, doesn't particularly enjoy me. I hate to say this, but I actually get pretty jealous when I read other PS TRs with mothers and FMILs; I really wish I had that.

Still, I am thankful for all of you who read this PJ, and I am really thankful for Becky and Richelle too. :D

All right, enough of that. I'll post our final day tomorrow! Thanks for reading!

well i can give you my family :goodvibes

it looks like you guys had fun in the parks--and i particularly liked your dinner!! we've had 2 bad experiences at lecellier, but yours didn't look too bad! as soon as the fantasyland expansion opens.... i'm so there.

i havent eaten in Le Celliar in about 2 to 3 years cause I can never get ressies for it...would love to go back someday

Day 3 seemed like so much fun!

I am so sorry you have to go through all of those emotions with your family. I can kind of understand how you feel. My mom is not going to be part of my wedding at all. She doesn't care to be. I have the support of my grandparents. I have been dealing with a lot of stress from DF family. They haven't booked their rooms yet. They are always complaining about something. This weekend his mom started telling me that I NEED to have a maid of honor and flower girls. I told her didn't want to give our guests extra expenses. She was also complaining about the colors we chose and about the rooms. She wants to stay at a deluxe resort for a value price! (Don’t we all) Something else that bothers me is that DF parents offered to help us with $4000 to put towards the wedding. We didn't ask them for anything, they came up with this number on their own. So now we worked that in our budget. They have only given us $1000. His dad is complaining about how expensive our wedding is when we never even asked them for anything. They have known we are having a wedding for over a year and he could've given us the money little by little sooner but now that the day is getting closer they are complaining. They do everything at the last minute and I can't stand that!!!! I am a planner and have already thought of a back-up plan. Peter insists that they will give us the $$$ he just says it will be whenever his dad feels like it.

I am here for you for whatever you need! I have been so excited for your wedding and the planning process. If you ever need anything let me know, I will be glad to help. You are such a nice person and nobody should ruin one of the happiest days of your life!

Jackie my dear....I'm sorry you have to deal with that:hug:. Just remember it only takes you and Chris to get married. He is your family now. Trust me...although on my PJ it seems like everyone is ok with with it...we still had to bust our butts to convince people to come....even my dad would still prefer an at home wedding. People just can't get over themselves sometimes.

On a lighter note....loving day 3! Although I did have to do some research on what all the acronyms mean lol ;) but I am not nearly as experienced in Disney as you are!

Jackie,

First off, let me say your trip looks amazing. So glad that your PS went so well. I think we are now going to add the cheddar cheese soup and breadsticks to our welcome dinner. :cool1: Doesn't really go with the Lady & the Tramp theme, but it has to be served somewhere. :)

In regard to your family situation, try not to let it get to you too much. It is your Mom's loss if she can't get excited about this fabulous event you and Chris are planning. (I will come and be excited instead!) Try to ignore her as much as possible and enjoy your wedding. I know that is easier said than done, but it's the only advice I can think of. Wish I could say more to make you feel better.

You are not alone in feeling jealous about the other mother's and MIL's who are involved in the wedding planning. I feel that loss on both sides everyday. My mother passed away suddenly when I was 20, so she wasn't there 10 years later when I met Paul and 2 years after that when we got married. It made for a very melancholy bride. My MIL helped to fill that void and made it much more bearable. She did everything that my mother would have done with me. She was the best! I almost listed her in the program as Mother of the Groom/Bride! Paul used to say that she and I shared the same brain. Sadly, she died of cancer less than 2 years after our wedding. Broke my heart and devastated Paul. I know they both would have loved this VR we are planning and I am so sad that I can't share it with them. If you ever need to vent, let me know. :grouphug:

Take care of yourself!

Haha--- OR we could both ship our families off to somewhere (how about Universal Studios? :lmao:). I like that idea! And I've never had a bad experience at Le Cellier! That's so weird! They have really good mac and cheese too.

i havent eaten in Le Celliar in about 2 to 3 years cause I can never get ressies for it...would love to go back someday

It *might* be a bit easier to get now that dinner is a signature... might as well give it a shot.

Awwww this almost made me tear up (and I'm a tough cookie.) <3 Like you, my grandparents (well, grandmother--- grandfather just says "oh, that sounds nice!" but he's sweet) are super supportive. They are, after all, putting us up in DVC for 11 nights! And I, of course, understand why my dad doesn't want to talk about it. I'm an only child, and my parents are divorced, and I lived with my dad since I was 10, so he's going to cry buckets when I get married. (This is all just kind of pouring out haha.) I think I got emotional earlier because I watched a Say Yes to the Dress about mothers and I got jealous. And I'm also here for YOU whenever you need it. <3 PS Are you on facebook? PM me your info so I can look you up, girlie!

Jackie my dear....I'm sorry you have to deal with that:hug:. Just remember it only takes you and Chris to get married. He is your family now. Yeah, I go a bit overboard with the acronyms anyway. Sometimes I get bored and like to quiz Chris. :lmao: And thank you for reminding that it really IS just about me and Chris--- and we really are family. <3 (Although, I wish our puppy could come too!!!)

Beth,

First... ADD THE CHEDDAR CHEESE SOUP! Really. You won't regret it, I PROMISE!!!

And thank you for sharing your story with me. <3 I am very, very sorry to hear about the hardships you have faced, but I'm also very glad that you've had Paul to help you along the way. I'm feeling much better now--- all of you disbrides are so, so amazing and I love all of you SO much.:love::love:

Thank you all for making me feel SO much better! I was just irritated, but I'm pretty much over it now... BECAUSE MY WEDDING DRESS CAME IN!!!! And--- and--- shocking news here--- IT'S THE RIGHT ONE!!!!!! It's perfect and it's lovely. I'll be posting Day 4 and some awkward pictures of the dress tomorrow!!! :D :D :D

Yay I love your updates! I have to tell you, I refuse to go to Epcot and not ride Living with the Land-- I just love it, I don't know why. Also, this is a huge *nerd alert*, but I have "One Little Spark" on my ipod. I even made my fiance watch a youtube video of the REAL Journey into Imagination so he could see how amazing it used to be (I don't think he really got it though...) If you ever move to FL, we should be besties. :flower3:

I'm sorry that you were feeling down about your family. I know what you mean about the jealousy-- I get jealous of brides that have great relationships with their fathers. My parents divorced when I was little and I just don't have any bond with my father. Now, when I look at my little family (me, Brandon, our 3 doggies), I'm so comforted by all the love we share. I know my children will have two parents that adore them.

Jackie!! Where do I even start?! What a great TR and it sounds like you had a blast (despite the heat and rain).

First off, we didn't make it to Epcot on Saturday. :sad2: DF threw out his back and couldn't even make it off the couch without help! I felt so bad for him. So we stayed in our PJ's all day and watched movies. It was nice to just chill! :thumbsup2

I hear ya about POTC. It drives me INSANE how every single time I'm on that ride someone is flashing their camera! How hard is it to follow directions people?!

Oh my! That food looks AMAZING!!! I have been on a diet for a million gazillion years now, and all I wanted to do was jump through the computer screen into all that gorgeous food! haha! Especially the cheddar cheese soup and breadsticks. So not fair!! :rotfl:

I completely agree with you about Journey into the Imagination. Every time I go to Epcot, I ride it, and every time I get pissed! It was one of my favorite rides and they completely destroyed it! Although, when I was young I made my dad video tape the ride, and so I still have a reminder (albeit crappy quality) of the original ride. :lmao:

As far as your mom goes...I completely understand! My mom has given me nothing but trouble since the moment we told her we were getting married at Disney. What is it about weddings that bring out the nasties in people? Especially the people that should be most supportive and happy? Well, I am so excited for you, and I enjoy your PJ. Can't wait for the TR for your big day!!

Oh, we will totally be Florida besties one day--- DF knows that my ultimate goal is to move there one day. Not anytime soon, but hopefully within the next ten years. I'd miss winter, but I'm just happier there than I am anywhere else. He tries to tell me that it wouldn't be the same if I could go all the time--- but a few years ago I went to the World every day for a month, and the magic only increased. Silly DF.

And, I totally agree about my little family too. <3 Isn't it amazing how much dogs become a part of your family? Chris and I missed our Smokey so much on our trip that we started making all of his little noises and whatnot... we're very strange!

Jackie!! Where do I even start?! What a great TR and it sounds like you had a blast (despite the heat and rain).

Oh no! I hope your DF is feeling better!!! <3 And WHY oh WHY do people always take flash pictures on POTC?! Are they even enjoying the ride? NO! They're taking pictures. Ughhhh rant rant rant! And I realllly should start my wedding diet... I'd like to lose the 10lbs I've gained this year. Blerrgghhhhh.

And I can't wait for YOUR big day--- I looked at your ticker, and it's so soon!!!

August 21,Day 4: Last Day :(

Okay, first off, I can't believe I was just in WDW three days ago--- it feels like forever. I hate that post-vacation sadness! I think I need to wear a Disney shirt today.

Anyway, so our last day started out a little rough. DF took forever to get out of bed (and he wasn't even sleeping, he was just playing around on his phone and whatnot!), and I really wanted to get to MK to see the rope drop ceremony. SO, I ended up having to pack all by myself, and DF is SO messy! Seriously, the rooms at Pop aren't very big, but he managed to have dirty clothes scattered in five different places. And the dirty socks!!! Socks EVERYWHERE! I'm one of those people who can't stand the feeling of socks, and I pretty much only wear them to the gym or when I have to be professional. But his socks get EVERYWHERE! So he got yelled at when he got out of the shower. Granted, I was also upset because I was tired and we were leaving the World, but I guess I took it out on the socks. :lmao: It seems funny now.

ANYWAY, after the sock debacle and after we checked our luggage at the resort check in (I LOVE this service!!!!), we headed over to the food court to get breakfast: Pop Century waffles this time! Apparently, in my grumpiness I forgot to take a picture of them, but they were yummy, just trust me. I like that they're actually resort-specific, especially because the only Pop merchandise they have these days are a post card and the pin I bought when we first stayed there five years ago. We ate in the food court a bit more than we usually do because I'm a cheapskate, and you can use the TiW card at the value resort food courts, but you can't use it in any of the park locations.

Anyway, so we did manage to make it to the MK for rope drop, and this also appears to be the Day I Forgot to Take Pictures. So, instead, here's a picture of us from two years ago. Same idea, except my hair was blond!

n13003576_32685911_400067.jpg

We went straight to Splash, but Splash was closed! :( and so we almost walked onto Big Thunder instead. I was sad; we didn't get to do Splash at all this trip--- oh well. After BTMRR, we went over to Pirates and walked on--- and there were no flash pictures! I was so proud of our boat; I wanted to give them gold stickers or something. From Pirates, we almost did Winnie the Pooh, but I was not in the mood to wait 40 minutes for a 90 second dark ride, so we went over to Buzz Lightyear instead, then did TTA again (we were so hot and tired!), then did ****. **** was especially funny; there was a language barrier issue and the monster made roughly 15 people do little antenna ears. Then, we went on HM again--- and by this time, it was 11:30, and we were out of the major things we wanted to do!

We decided to try and go get DF a haircut, but the wait was over an hour. :( So, we went shopping!

And I bought this beauty:

DSCN0126.jpg

It was so much more than I wanted to spend, but I am in love with it. I think I might like it even more than the sketch tote I own. (Randy did take a couple of pictures of me with my sketch tote though, I'm looking forward to those!)

Oh! I forgot to mention! We also bought the bride and groom vinylmations, and we bought the thank you one too. We're using the bride and groom as our cake topper, and we're going to put the thank you one next to our card box. I toyed with the idea of doing vinyls as favors, however; I do not want to spend $11/pp on favors!

I suggested we then go to Kona Cafe for lunch because it was too early to go back to Pop where we no longer had a room, and DME wasn't picking us up until 3:15. We took the monorail over, and surprise, surprise, the monorail did not take a MILLION HOURS to get to the Poly like it did when we had to go to our PS! (Still bitter, monorail!) We were seated at Kona fairly quickly, even though we didn't have an ADR, and I even convinced our server to bring us out some of the delicious bread they usually only give out for dinner.

For lunch, DF ordered a burger (noticing a trend here with DF? Boy likes his beef!) and I ordered the Kona Club sandwich. Now, I am really picky about sauces, but the menu didn't say anything about sauce, so I thought I was in the clear. However, I was not, not even a little. The sauce on this sandwich was GROSS! I don't know what it was, but I did not like it. I picked at my food, and the server noticed and took it off of my bill! I tried to convince her not to because it was my own fault for not asking, but she wouldn't hear of it. I ordered my favorite dessert instead, white chocolate cheesecake (mmmmm), and we left her a good tip.

After wondering around the Poly a bit, we decided to go back to Pop, as we didn't have anything else left to do. We hung out at Pop before it was time to board DME, and arrived at the airport without a hitch. We were home by 9:30 at night.

All in all it was a good, albeit short, stay. Our PS and MT were great, but I think I am going to try and avoid going in the summer months as much as possible from now on. It's too gosh darn hot for my northerner's blood! Of course, I'd ultimately like to be a teacher, so we're going to be relegated to the summer months--- but at least we're getting married in January, right?!

I'm also a HUGE fan of TiW now. We're less than $50 from breaking even on the card, and with seven signature restaurants on our list for next time, I don't think we'll have a problem getting to that point. This was the first trip since 2006 where we didn't do the DDP, and I definitely like the freedom TiW gives us--- the freedom, for instance, to have ice cream sandwiches for dinner if we want! I am not entirely sure if I'll ever do DDP again; DF and I managed to eat on roughly $50 a day for the two of us (including tips!), whereas we would have spent almost $90 a day plus tips on the DDP.

Okay, this has been another super long post, so next up: WEDDING DRESS PICTURES!!!!!!

The DRESS!!!

Unexpectedly, my wedding dress arrived at my house yesterday! Now, I really wish they would have let me know it was coming, but thankfully I was home. And, girls, the dress is absolutely, positively perfect. It does need some alterations--- it is HUGE in the chest area!!! (my grammy told me not to give up hope and maybe my ****ies would get bigger in the next four months :lmao:)--- but it's just about perfect in the waist.

So, now, I present you with some Awkward Pictures I Took Of Myself in My Mirror!!!! I had an extremely cramped space, so forgive these. They give you the general idea though!

I am still in LOVE with it. It's just so pretty, and I know I made the right decision. I feel like a princess in it! I'm going to call and make an appointment for alterations ASAP though, just so I have the appointment all set.

Enjoy, and thanks for reading!

I really enjoyed your mini trip report! It sounds like it was a great trip. I also really, really LOVE your dress. It looks beautiful on you. :lovestruc

Your dress looks absolutely gorgeous! So glad you finally have the right one :goodvibes

So I also have to do a little research to figure out all of your acronyms - but I think my favorite above is the one that got bleeped out! I'm going to go ahead and assume that the DIS does not appreciate the acronym for the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor :rotfl:

Anyway, all of your pictures are great and it looks like a good trip. I love the food pictures too ;) I've never been on Living with the Land (that I can recall) so I definitely want to check that out. I know what you mean about being there in August and having to wait. When we were there the last week of June it was mobbed and with a group of 12 people we ended up waiting on a LOT of long lines. They also didn't understand the concept of fastpass :confused3 I'm hoping the beginning of September will be a lot better, but I know that at least things will be more efficient with just the two of us!

Oh, and about your rant - I'm sorry your mother is acting that way  There is already so much pressure with planning a wedding, and you don't need that extra stress from her. I know that my family would not have been happy if I had done a Disney wedding, so I can imagine what you are going through. Hopefully your mom will lighten up a little and get excited about your big day! I know I'm excited for you! :woohoo:

The dress looks soooo pretty on you! and you of course look beautiful in it!

I also enjoyed the bleeping out of the Monster's Inc acronym....lol its acronym Karma getting back at you for confusing simpletons like me! ;)

Thats so funny cause were doin almost the same thing. Were using the thank you vinyl for our thank you card...were gonna hold the vinyl in one hand and our rings in the other.

I'm so glad you guys had so much fun. The pics sure show you did!!

I'm really sorry you have to deal with so much BS from the family. I can totally relate. Our families aren't really into the whole Disney wedding either. There are some exceptions, but not many. Don't worry about all of that. You and Chris have each other, and that's all that matters. In the end, it will be you and Chris anyway. Ya know?!

And I have to say... I LOVE that bag you bought!! :lovestruc I have a slight obsession with purses and handbags. My DF says it's a problem!! :rotfl: I must admit.. I have been a good girl and haven't bought one in a while!!

And now... THE DRESS!!!  It's GORGEOUS!!! And it has glitter this time!!! :lmao: :yay: They got it right!! I just think this dress is beautiful!! I can't wait to wear mine either. And mine is big in the **** area too!! :rotfl2: We are twins!!! hahahahaha I bought some of the chicken cutlet things, so hopefully after alterations, that area will look better!! Are you going to wear any other kind of slips underneath for more fullness?? I think I already asked you this. But now that you actually have it, what do you think? Do you like the fullness as is, or does it need more?? I am so :scared1: of looking like a gypsy bride with my dress on. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Oh BTW, I totally feel you on the after vacation blues. I'm always so depressed when we get back home. I've told the DF numerous times that we need to move to FL. We were going to about 4 yrs ago, but his mom got sick.. and she was really whiny about him moving away after only being back from Tampa for a few years. And this is the mom that is no longer coming to our wedding... so I say we should've damn moved!!! That's what I told him the other day anyway!! Can't do it now unless we sell our place, and I don't see that happening anytime soon. There's no way we would get what we needed out of it and be able to pay off the mortgage.

Anyway... sorry for this long post on your PJ lol

 <3

Okay, so I'm going to reply to everyone and whatnot, I just needed to post this because I am in utter shock--- Christy SENT US OUR BEO AND BUDGET ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!! It took her FIVE DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!! It doesn't have our custom cake or floral on it yet, but I am pretty much in shock and awe.

Heck yea!! That's awesome!!! That really helps out when you're trying to figure out all of the details.

I really enjoyed your mini trip report! It sounds like it was a great trip. I also really, really LOVE your dress. It looks beautiful on you. :lovestruc

Thank you SO much, Danielle! I'm in love with it too. :)
Your dress looks absolutely gorgeous! So glad you finally have the right one

So I also have to do a little research to figure out all of your acronyms - but I think my favorite above is the one that got bleeped out! I'm going to go ahead and assume that the DIS does not appreciate the acronym for the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor

LOL! I didn't even THINK about that acronym hahahahahahaha. I feel bad now!!! And I apologize for my excessive usage. :lmao:

Yes, you MUST check out Living with the Land! It's not exactly the most thrilling ride in the world, but I find it really interesting. It's also a good thing to do while you're waiting for a Soarin' fastpass. I also don't know if you've ever eaten at the Counter Service in The Land, Sunshine Seasons, but if you haven't, it's probably the best counter service on property--- and their desserts are to die for!

LOL! I'm still laughing about my Monster's Inc acronym... serves me right... :lmao: And thank you for the dress compliment!!!

Thats so funny cause were doin almost the same thing. Were using the thank you vinyl for our thank you card...were gonna hold the vinyl in one hand and our rings in the other.

That is such a good idea! I haven't even begun to think of thank you cards yet, but I'll bet yours will be awesome. Nice find on your $15 vinyls btw!!!

I'm so glad you guys had so much fun. The pics sure show you did!!

My mom was a witch with a B AGAIN today... so I am entirely over her and the rest of my family drama!!! To heck with them, I say!

This is actually only the second (designer) purse I've bought--- so I think that's PRETTY good, don't you?!? I wanted to wait for it to go to the outlets, but I just couldn't. It has Walt on it, for cripe's sake!

And I think, for me, the fullness of the dress is just perfect--- but I'm quite a bit bigger than you! You're teeny tiny! I'm not going to wear a slip, but I found a really pretty corsety style long length bra online I'm going to order soon. I might order it a size up to help with the chest problem?

And UGH I wish you had moved too! DF and I don't own a house (and are very, very far away from doing so!!!), but we just got settled here in WI a year ago, so it will be a long time before I move to Florida. I really wish I had gotten into the University of Florida's phd program, but not only did they reject me, but they sent me a REALLY mean letter! So to heck with them! :rotfl2:

*******
So this has pretty much been the most overwhelming wedding week of my life--- between this Trip Report, the dress coming in, getting my BEO, AND DF just sent me a mock up of our invitations! I'll be posting the BEO tomorrow, lovelies... and as long as our cake and decor doesn't cost $4000 (and trust me, I am not getting $4000 worth of flowers!), we'll be UNDER budget!!!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
