Jackie and Chris's Wishes Wedding 1/6/12: SBP/Attic/SCP 5/11 Final Post- PJ Finished

Hope you have a safe trip!! Have fun with your planning session! And don't forget to take lots of pics!!!!!!!!

Thank you!!!! <3

Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait for the updates when you get back!!!!!

Hey! Did you tell Randy you weren't doing the coach because of the walls? He mentioned that he had one bride who wasn't, and I was wondering if it was you!!!

have fun Jackie!! Can't wait to hear all about your PS! And who knows, maybe I'll see you in Epcot on Saturday...thinking about taking a day trip to the world!:yay: hope you have a fabulous time!!

Ack! Were you there?!?! I was! It was HOT!

Jackie,

I know you are already there, but hope you are having a fabulous time! Can't wait to hear all about it!

Thank you, Beth!!!

I hope you're having an amazing time!

Can't wait to hear about your session with Randy!! DH and I are doing a session with him during our next trip :goodvibes

Randy is amazing, as you will read below! And are you staying at BLT?? We're staying there for our honeymoon and I am SO excited!!!!

************************
Well girls, I'm back! I've caught up with most of your PJs, but forgive me if I didn't comment on all of them--- I am still EXHAUSTED! DF and I woke up at 5:30am today so we could go to the kennel to pick up Smokey because we missed him so much. :lovestruc We had a great time, but it was hot and rainy and reallllly crowded... which just means I am looking forward to January even more! So, without further adieu, here is the start of the TR!

August 18, Day 1, Part 1: Longest. Journey. Ever.

So DF and I woke up around 5:00am to catch our 7:30am flight. We live in Milwaukee, and the Milwaukee airport is only about 15 minutes from our house, so we figured leaving at 6:00am would give us plenty of time. We got to the airport at 6:20ish, still with plenty of leeway.

DSCN0009.jpg

DF and I looking cute waiting for the shuttle from the parking lot

Well. The shuttle took FOREVER--- and it doesn't help that I am one of those people who likes to be early for everything and freaks out if I'm only a minute or two late. I also like to leave a little early so I can get a cup of coffee at the airport. Well, the line for security was MUCH longer than we had anticipated, and I was convinced we weren't going to make it. Thankfully, we made it out of the line with about twenty minutes to spare... but that meant there was not enough time for Jackie the Coffee Addict to get her cup of coffee. We got to the gate, and we were boarded right away.

DSCN0010.jpg

This is what I look like before I have my coffee.

We waited on the plane... and waited... and waited... and then we were told we had to de-plane because there was something wrong with one of the airplane's boxes and they didn't know when we'd be getting a new plane!!! :scared1::scared1: We got off the plane, and I almost cried... but at least I had time to get some coffee.

THANKFULLY, they found us a new plane within a half hour, and we only left about an hour late! :cool1::cool1:

Our flight was uneventful, and we were on the ground by noon. We got right onto DME, but had to wait a little bit and were at Pop by 1:15. Cue Second Freak Out--- remember, we had to be at the Polynesian to take pictures with Randy by 2:00! The line at Pop Century was longgggggg and people kept asking a million questions at the check in desk. We finally got our room (3216 in the 50's, in case you're wondering--- buildings 1 and 3 are really good; they're close to the bus stops and the lobby) and ran to the taxi outside to take us to the Poly. We made it there at--- wait for it--- 1:59!!!

DSCN0016.jpg

Us in the cab!

Day 1, Part 2: Engagement pictures
Randy was roughly five minutes late (how dare he?!?) and we were able to figure out who he was due to the humongous cameras he was carrying. We took pictures all around the Poly--- at that bridge (you know the one!); on the beach; at Sunset Point; at Luau Cove; on the dock; and on that hill by the monorail. DF and I were super-awkward at first (like, super awkward!) but we loosened up a bit. And Randy is SO nice and funny, and he definitely knows what he's doing.

However, it was HOT! DF and I were both sweating buckets taking pictures in the hot, hot sun. I hope we don't look super-sweaty in all of our pictures...

Day 1, Part 3: MK and Rain

DF and I then boarded the monorail (and yes, we stood clear of the doors :P) and headed over to the MK. We exchanged our vouchers for these little beauties...

DSCN0018.jpg

And the CM gave us happily ever after buttons AND happy anniversary buttons to save! So sweet. :) Then, we got in line to buy our Tables in Wonderland card and had a mini-freakout moment because our little AP packet said something about blackout dates... but we were fine. Whew! So we headed off to the park

...and our first stop was Casey's! We hadn't eaten since 7am and it was after 3 by then, and we were starving! I forgot to take a picture of it, but DF and I split a hot dog meal. It was decent, and we gave it a B. (This TR is also going to include a dining review. Hope you don't mind!)

After foodstuffs, it was off to the Haunted Mansion to see the new queue!

DSCN0023.jpg

I really like all of the new graveyard effects... but I'm certainly not going to go through that line every time! I think this was probably my favorite part--- it blows bubbles.

DSCN0030.jpg

I also LOVE the new hitchhiking ghosts!! The new effect is much more interactive. I wish they would put photopass on it though.

After HM, we went over to DF's favorite, POTC. We got really annoyed though-- why do people always take flash pictures on that ride?!?!?

Then, it was time for dinner at the plaza. We were seated a little early (thankfully, as my 1/3 of a hot dog didn't do much for me.) We both ordered pomegranate lemonade to start, and we both gave it solid ABs.

DSCN0033.jpg

Yum!

DF ordered an Angus Chuck Cheeseburger; I had the Plaza Club:

DSCN0036.jpg

DSCN0035.jpg

I gave mine a solid B, but Chris gave his a BC, saying it was a standard burger. My chips, however, were amazing! Yum! And, with our TiW discount, this meal was only $30 with tip--- definitely worth it for a Disney table service meal. And look at the lovely view our hostess gave us (we must have looked especially in love):

DSCN0034.jpg

After we stuffed ourselves, we hobbled over to the Tiki Room under Old Management, as we have taken to calling it. It was cute, but I honestly didn't mind Zazu and Iago--- oh well.

But then? But then, the rain started. And continued. And continued. And continued. We huddled in stores for an hour and a half, but gave up around 8:30 and went to our room, even though I reallllly wanted to see Wishes.

We also got soaked in the process:

DSCN0039.jpg

DSCN0040.jpg

Obligatory wet pictures... what am I doing??!

(I also found time to buy a charm for my pandora bracelet, in case you're wondering.) It did feel good to go to our hotel, and we were utterly exhausted. I had been up since 3am because I was too excited to sleep!

Here are some pics of the room:

DSCN0041.jpg

DSCN0042.jpg

It's, eh, a room. Nothing fantastic. We stretched out, ate dessert (Minnie's Bake Shop cookies, which are AMAZING!) and went to bed.

Next up: Day 2--- Planning Session, Menu Tasting, and More Rain!!!

Your trip already sounds like fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I understand how you feel about getting to places late (I also tend to freak out). Which charm did you buy???

I haven't spoken to Randy about the carriage, I guess I'm not the only one who has decided to drop it. What did you think of the walls, or the area?

I can't wait for the next post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like a great first day! Though your morning started out frustrating - that happened to me once too, where I was on the plane and then we had to get off for some reason and wait for a new one. Plus, that was after they'd already cancelled my original flight and I waited an extra hour and a half for the next one. But at least you got there and you made it just in time!! I can't wait to see your engagement pictures :goodvibes

Your meal looks nice - those french fries look especially yummy (I'm a sucker for good fries!). I'm also looking forward to seeing the new Haunted Mansion stuff. Is it mostly just the outside/queue that they changed, or is it stuff inside as well? And bummer about the rain. I hate how it just downpours and makes it almost impossible to do anything :( Hopefully you fared between weather wise the other days, and I can't wait to hear about the planning session!

Everything looks good so far!! Except it sucks that you had mini freakouts! lol Just breath Jackie!!!

And....Those chips look delicious!!!! I can't wait to see the e-pics! Randy is really good!

Keep on posting!

Ooooh, I'm SO excited to read day 2!!! :thumbsup2
I am also really excited to see your epics!

i'm dying for a sneak peek of your epix!!! glad you made it there safe and on time!! can't wait to read the rest!!

I bought the Lucky the Dalmatian charm... mostly because I was missing my puppy. :) And honestly, I didn't think the walls were bad at all! I don't think you should be able to see them from the WP.

Ack--- I had never had anything like that happen to me before! And the only thing they changed about HM inside was the hitchhiking ghosts at the end... but it's even better than before, I promise!

Yes!! I love TRs! What a great view at Plaza :goodvibes Can't wait for Day 2!

Thanks girls! I am DYING for my epics! Randy said they would take a few weeks. I told my Grammy this, and her response was "You know, PhotoPass can have them that same day!" Oh Grammy.

*************************************
Onto Day 2!

August 19, Day 2, Part 1: Planning Session!

DF and I left the room at 7:30 and had a quick breakfast of bagels and Via Iced Coffee. (Have any of you tried it? I love it!) No pictures of the bagels because... well, they're just bagels. We both gave them a B.

By 7:45 we were waiting for the bus for the MK... and we seemed to wait FOREVER. We didn't get to the MK until 8:20 (I was stressed again, so I was counting down the minutes... I told you girls, I'm crazy), and then we had to wait some more for the monorail. AND, when we were finally ON the monorail, it stopped four times due to traffic! Four times! I was seriously having a monorail-induced nervous breakdown. We ended up being five minutes late for our Planning Session, but no one seemed to mind.

And: Surprise #1, we were given a new wedding planner! Our planner had been Carol Milkes, but there was some sort of scheduling conflict and she couldn't be there. Our new planner is her former assistant, Christy Jacoby. Now, if I had been constantly emailing my planner I would have been pretty peeved that they hadn't told me in advance, but I had only sent Carol a handful of emails, so I was okay with it. And, I really like Christy: we have a lot in common, she's young, and she's also planning her own Disney wedding!

Then, we sat down and went through the whole day--- and, to be honest, this is kind of a blur. I don't remember much of it, but we did get all of my questions settled. Here is what I remember about the nitty gritty details:

*Unfortunately, we're not having Belle at our wedding. Disney has some pretty strict princess rules, and I didn't like either of the options I was given. I could have either (A) Had THREE princesses (and that's a lot of princesses!) or (B) Had Belle, Beast, and a backdrop--- and that sounded pricey, and I don't *want* Beast there!
*SO, instead of Mickey and Belle, we're having Mickey and Pluto. I'm happy with this solution.
*I really like how Christy didn't try to get me to spend more money; in fact, she tried to save me some money! For instance, I was going to take a limo to SBP from BCV, but she convinced me to do a van instead because it was over $100 cheaper! I really liked that. She also didn't make me feel bad for not providing transport to the DP like my consultant had--- Christy realized how easy it is to get to the GF.
*As of right now, we are doing an hour of photography at the DP.
*In case you were wondering, you can't really bring an ipod for background music at Sago Cay because it's an outside area. (I'm fine with this.)
*I got REALLY distracted by all of the pretty stuff in the case. I ended up getting my guestbook pen, a pretty white satchel purse, and cake knife and server through Disney. We're also doing favors for them, and they'll also be escort cards: the Mickey heads for guys, and carriages for girls.
*Chris took a picture of my free Diet Coke, sent it in a text message to my dad, and said "$10,000 Diet Coke." Oh Chris.

And then, after the above stuff, it was time to test the CAKE!

DSCN0045.jpg

It was SO good! I really liked the almond cake (so moist!) but Chris, not so much. We decided on red velvet with white chocolate for our top layer, and yellow cake with dark chocolate for the main layer. For Chris's groomscake, we're doing chocolate with buttercream. (And, of course, our cake will be covered in buttercream and decorated with fondant.)

Speaking of cake, we're doing a custom Mad Hatter, inspired by the MK. There was another bride on here--- sorry, I forget who!!!--- who did a Mad Hatter inspired by the World Showcase? Same idea, but with the MK. Christy is getting a price quote on that for me.

And, as we plowed through the cake, I *might* have been a four year old and eaten the frosting right out of the little cup. You know, just maybe.

Now, you may be wondering why I mentioned some of the floral stuff above--- and it's because our florist, Elizabeth, was late. Very, very late. We're talking an hour and a half late. I was kind of annoyed, but let it slide because Christy and I actually had a lot to talk about--- we talked about wedding shows, various other shows we like, why we hate Illuminations, how some of her friends had dresses designed by Randy Fenoli... random stuff, mostly. Chris was bored out of his mind, but he was a good sport. While we were waiting, Christy also prepped us for the florist, and made us this cute little inspiration board:

DSCN0046.jpg

We were also left to our own devices for a little while in the room. It was all very weird, actually. I took some pictures in my downtime:

DSCN0047.jpg

I want one of those!

DSCN0049.jpg

DSCN0050.jpg

That's my dress!!!!!!!

Anyway, Elizabeth FINALLY arrived--- and our meeting with her was probably only 10 minutes. I already knew what I wanted for floral, and it wasn't that much.
*Burgundy gerber daisies for my bouquet, tied with a white satin ribbon. She also promised that she would make my ribbon shiny and shimmery.
*White gerber daisies for MOH and bridesmaids, tied with charcoal ribbon. The MOH bouquet will be somewhat larger than the BMs.
*3 rows of five on each side of Sea Breeze, with a burgundy daisy and a charcoal ribbon on the outermost chair of each aisle.
*Mickey confetti during reception; castle confetti during the DP (and yes, we are doing the music.)

... And I think that's about it for floral!

After the floral meeting, Chris and I walked over to the GF, and the walls weren't terrible at all really--- although, I did hear some construction, but it couldn't be heard from the WP/Franck's. I took Chris over to Sago Cay and snapped some more pics:

DSCN0054.jpg

DSCN0055.jpg

DSCN0057.jpg

We wandered around the GF for a bit and I bought some pumpkin spice mickey soap and some holy matrimony soap in Basin. (Love that place.) Then we went over to the Boardwalk. Chris had never been, but it was HOT so we didn't spend too much time looking around. We couldn't get too close to Sea Breeze because there was a wedding! But, here's a picture anyway:

DSCN0060.jpg

We went into the lobby and... look what we saw!

DSCN0062.jpg

I definitely squealed. We headed over to the Boardwalk Convention center and found our tasting room:

DSCN0065.jpg

And then we just sat in the a/c for awhile and waited. (Did I mention it was hot?)

Day 2, Part 2: Tasting!

Here's what our cute little tasting room looked like:

DSCN0069.jpg

We met back up with Christy and we met our Chef, Charles. I don't know if any of you have worked with him... but he's amazing; he really is. He's pretty much my new best friend. We started out by picking a napkin style... and I totally don't remember what it was called. Sorry girls!

The first food we were given was a sample of the cheese display. We had sage cheese, white cheddar, pepperjack, gouda, brie, and blue cheese. I'm not that big on cheese, but the pepperjack and gouda were VERY good. DF loved it all. (And I forgot to get a picture: oops!)

Then we moved on to one of my requests, the salad with mango poppyseed dressing from the Spirit of Aloha dinner show. He didn't get the dressing exactly right--- but what he made was BETTER! He made it with a yogurt dressing, and it was a very cool and refreshing salad.

DSCN0070.jpg

Next up was the tomatoes and mozzarella with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette. This was another DF food because I DESPISE olive oil. Still, what I had tasted good, and Chef Charles said he'd make me one without olive oil. I love him.

DSCN0071.jpg

Next up was.... the cheddar cheese soup and pretzel breadsticks! His pretzel breadsticks were BETTER than the ones at Le Cellier. Yes, you read that right. Better.

DSCN0072.jpg

By this point, we were already getting stuffed, but we had two more foods to taste! Charles was really easy to talk to, and both he and Christy commented on how easygoing and laidback we were. (It's true. We're SO easy to please.)

Now, I bring you: the Parmesan crusted chicken!!!

DSCN0073.jpg

This. Was. AMAZING. Seriously. AMAZING!!!! This is with a mushroom sauce, but DF and I do not like mushrooms, so he's going to do a different kind of cream sauce. But oh man. The chicken was AMAZING!!! I'm drooling just thinking about it.

By this point, DF and I were stuffed at the seams, but we still had to try the french toast, which Charles made right in front of us.

DSCN0074.jpg

There's one "normal" french toast on brioche bread, and one stuffed with raspberry cream cheese. Now, I don't much like french toast (Mickey waffles are on the menu for me!), but this french toast was phenomenal. Absolutely phenomenal. However, I also don't like raspberries (they're pretty much the only fruit I can't stand), so we're going to have some of the french toast stuffed with apples and cinnamon (SO excited for that!!!), and some plain.

We were then given some cookie and brownie samples from our DP to go, as we couldn't down another bite:

DSCN0075.jpg

DSCN0076.jpg

And then Charles gave us a heart shaped cookie cutter and a cute little whisk as a thank you for hanging out with him--- I wish we could have given him something to thank him. We left our tasting very full, and very happy.

This post is getting huge, so I'll continue this in the next post!

Day 2, Part 3: The Attic

After the tasting, Christy took us up to The Attic... and left us there! She told us to stay as long as we like, and I'd say we stayed for about a half hour. I know I love looking at pictures of The Attic, so here are some of the ones I took:

DSCN0085.jpg

DSCN0080.jpg

DSCN0087.jpg
(This thing really creeped me out.)

DSCN0088.jpg

DSCN0089.jpg

DSCN0092.jpg

DSCN0093.jpg

I stood on the balcony of The Attic for a little while and listened to the music. It was so incredibly peaceful, and it really started to hit me--- I'm getting married in Walt Disney World!!! Chris and I just sat and relaxed (and digested...) It was probably my favorite memory of the trip. (And yes, we got to do some kissy kissy! Shhh don't tell Mickey.)

After we started to feel a bit guilty for being there so long without supervision, we decided to go get the boat for DHS. The boatride was nice and quiet, but nothing special. We got to DHS and wandered for a bit until we got to Star Tours--- and I loved it! Great improvements, Disney. I don't really buy into all of this 3-D stuff, but it definitely works for ST2. After that, we did the great movie ride, and our tour guide was pretty good.

And then, of course... the rains set in. We dashed over to Muppets before it filled up due to rain, but it hadn't let up by the time we were out. We went into... one of the stores (No idea which one) and I found this stuffed dog decoration:

DSCN0099.jpg

And he looks JUST LIKE SMOKEY!!!!!! I really wish I could have bought it. :(

Afterwards, the rain let up and we decided to wait the 15 minutes for TOT, and I screamed like a little girl. The rain had stopped completely by then and it was just a little after 8:00, so we decided to go wait for Fantasmic...

...but by 8:10 or so, the rain started up again. Not hard rain, but rain nonetheless! We waited in the rain until 8:30, but then I just looked at Chris and told him I gave up. My butt was wet from sitting in a wet bleacher, my clothes were wet, my hair was wet, and I was tired and just not having fun anymore. It stinks that we didn't get to see F!, but all I wanted was to go to bed.

So, we left--- and it was definitely the right decision. We ended our day with an unremarkable meal from the Pop Century food court (we had some yummy chips though!), some Phineas and Ferb, and a very worn out sleep. All in all, Day 2 was GREAT--- a little wet, but great nonetheless.

Days 3 and 4 will be up tomorrow, but Day 2 was definitely the best, and the most eventful. (Day 3 has more cheddar cheese soup though.)

Thanks for reading!!!

Wow! What a fun time! You must be so excited! You're getting so close!!! Thank you for sharing your trip!!!

And: Surprise #1, we were given a new wedding planner! Our planner had been Carol Milkes, but there was some sort of scheduling conflict and she couldn't be there. Our new planner is her former assistant, Christy Jacoby. I'm so confused. Diane Bowen is my planner and her assistant is Christy Jacoby.:confused3 So i'm wondering if my planner and assistant have changed and this is why I've yet to hear back from either of them about an email I sent over 3 weeks ago. (which happens to be in reference to my PS that's coming up:))

I wish DFTW did a better job of communicating.

OMG Jackie you and your fiance are too darn cute!! I totally LOL'ed at the line "and yes, we stood clear of the doors". Sounds like you had a great trip (albeit wet) and I can't wait to read more!

I'm so glad you started your TR!! :goodvibes It looks like you guys had a lot of fun... even though all of that rain sucks!!

The food def looks delicious!! It makes me very hungry! The Attic looks great! And you're right, I like looking at pictures of it too.

I'm glad you like you're new planner, and that you're actually ok with having a new planner sprung on you so last minute. :thumbsup2 I would be the same way. Me and the DF aren't very hard to please. As long as the new planner had all previously discussed info, I'd be cool with it!!

How crazy is that with Belle?? :confused3 Like, if you wanted Beast, you would've asked for him!! :lmao: And I personally don't like the backdrop idea. It seems really strange to me. Do they just stand in front of that backdrop the whole time?? It seems quite creepy, if you ask me!!

I can't wait to see your e-pics! I bet they'll be Awesome!! I'm glad you guys got along with Randy. I'm very nervous about all of the new people I will be dealing with on the wedding day. I'm not very comfortable around strangers!! :scared1: Get to know me though... that's a completely different story!! :rotfl2:

AHHH isn't it crazy how close your wedding is now???? Time is sure flying by!!

<3

I LOVE PS trip TRs and yours is no exception! I'm so happy to hear you liked the pretzel breadsticks because we are going to be requesting them too.

It looks like you had so much fun! I loved reading about your PS, I can't wait til mine rolls around. Your food looked delicious!!

I am so glad to see your food reviews! You tried a few of the things we would like (cheese soup, pretzel bread, and parmesan crusted chicken). :goodvibes

It look like you had a lot of fun.

YAY! Parmesan crusted chicken! :thumbsup2 Your pictures look great and I'm glad you had a great day! I love how in the picture in the attic, Chris is just lounging in the back chair lol. I can't believe the florist was THAT late! That's insane! That sucks about the princess situation...but at least you're still happy!

Can't wait for day 3 & 4!

Your planning session looks so great! For the most part I'm happy with my decision to have an at-home wedding rather than a Disney one (for various reasons), but I have to admit that seeing your planning session does make me long for it a little bit! I'll just have to plan on a vow renewal one day ;) I think the Attic is such a great location, I love your pics of it! And all of your food... it looked and sounded so good! That chicken looks amazing (though like you I don't care for mushrooms so the fact that he's changing it is even better!)

Wow! What a fun time! You must be so excited! You're getting so close!!! Thank you for sharing your trip!!!

Ugh, that's really annoying! 3 weeks is a really long time--- have you called the main number yet, or are you giving them some more leeway? Your PS is soon too!!! I'm sorry. :(

OMG Jackie you and your fiance are too darn cute!! I totally LOL'ed at the line "and yes, we stood clear of the doors". Sounds like you had a great trip (albeit wet) and I can't wait to read more!

Thanks, Shelly! Glad you followed me over here again. :)

I know, right?! If I wanted Beast, I would have said I wanted Beast. I wouldn't mind having the prince there, but not Beast... but I know DF would much rather have Mickey, so I just dropped the issue. I'll just put on a nice dress and stand in line to meet Belle at the MK or something. (I really will, too.)

I thought of you when I was at The Attic and SBP! If you want more pictures of it, there's even more on facebook. Don't worry--- your food will be DELISH! The Boardwalk is good eatin'.

I LOVE PS trip TRs and yours is no exception! I'm so happy to hear you liked the pretzel breadsticks because we are going to be requesting them too.

Oh, Wendy, they are amazing. You will not go wrong!

It looks like you had so much fun! I loved reading about your PS, I can't wait til mine rolls around. Your food looked delicious!!

Thank you! It was amazing, and I can't wait to read about yours!

I am so glad to see your food reviews! You tried a few of the things we would like (cheese soup, pretzel bread, and parmesan crusted chicken).

It look like you had a lot of fun.

We did... thanks! I'm so glad I read about that chicken on here--- best wedding decision I've made so far.

LOL! I didn't even realize that Chris semi-photobombed me! Yep, he is probably posting on twitter in that picture. (He's like a teenage girl sometimes, I swear.)

It all looks brilliant Jackie. Love the sound of the cake!!

Love the Planning session report!!! Food looks amazing and love the floral plans!!!

Thank you so much, Joanne and Amanda!

Awwww. If it's any consolation, as much as I enjoyed my PS, and as happy as I am with all of my wedding plans, lately I've been wishing DF and I had decided to do a Memories collection with just the two of us... but more on that below!

August 20, Day 3, Part 1: Epcot!

As exhausted as we were, DF and I were still good little commando-ers and got up early so we could make it to Epcot for rope drop. We started out our day with breakfast again, which is still bizarre to me--- DF and I never used to eat breakfast, but now if we don't we're crabby. I'm pretty sure we're getting old. DF had a bagel again, but I wanted something a little less carbtastic, so I got a yogurt parfait:

And I am only posting this picture because this thing was HORRENDOUS. It was the worst thing I ate on the entire trip. The yogurt was bland, the granola was soft, and it was made with a gooey, gel-y strawberry sauce and not fresh strawberries. It was revolting. Please, do NOT get this!!!!

Now, I'll erase that image with this picture of some hot air balloons we saw that morning.

Chris and I made it to Epcot before 8:30 (woohoo!), waited around, and eventually got onto the first flight of the day at Soarin'. I also realized that I don't think I have waited in the regular line since 2006--- I always either fastpass it or make it for rope drop. Rumor has it the queue is interactive these days though!

After Soarin, we went over to TT and only waited about 20 minutes. I always make DF sit in the middle, and he wound up sitting next to a 7 year old boy, who was undoubtedly impressed with his chic Perry the Platypus shirt. :lmao: Having done all of the big hitters (I don't go on M:S), we tried to go on Ellen, but they were making people wait outside in the hot sun instead of just filtering people in during the pre-show, and that was not how I wanted to spend 15 minutes. We hiked it on over to Nemo, and I tried to take some pictures of the cute manatees, but I got a new camera right before the trip and I couldn't figure out how to turn off the flash! But trust me, the manatees were especially cute.

After Nemo, we did Living with the Land (even though I didn't want to hike up that slope again), because we have a semi-bizarre obsession with this ride.

What's up with the dead Sunflowers, Disney?!?!

Then we went on Figment, and I whined about missing the Dreamfinder and sang along with "One Little Spark." I'm normally a-okay with changes (for instance, I loved Mr. Toad, but I also love Winnie the Pooh), but I will never, ever forgive Disney for taking away the Dreamfinder. I loved Figment so much when I was little. Sorry, rant over!

By this time, it was almost time for lunch, so we hoofed it over to

DSCN0108.jpg

We had to wait a bit, so I took this picture of DF with his new best friend

DSCN0109.jpg

But then it was time to eat! We were sitting right next to a couple with bride and groom ears, so naturally I struck up a conversation. They were from Chicago, not too far from us, and really nice. They were staying at POR, and the groom's mom had even made him some top hat groom ears! I also got them to give me their pens. (Okay, this is another weird little fact about me: I am obsessed with those Walt Disney Resort pens. I steal them from all of the restaurants we go to, and I few years ago I even took a bunch of them off of a maid cart. I know, I am a terrible, terrible human being.)

Anyway, onto the food!

We got the cheddar cheese soup to start... but they were OUT OF PRETZEL BREADSTICKS!!! I had to wait a whole five minutes. (I know, my life is so hard.)

But, when they came they were piping hot, so it was certainly worth the wait

DSCN0112.jpg

Still, Charles' breadsticks were better. I don't know how they were better, or what he possibly did to them, but they were amazing. These were still pretty good though.

Now, honestly, I go to Le Cellier for the soup and breadsticks. I'm not really a big beef eater; but DF looooves steak. So DF got this:

DSCN0114.jpg

I think it's a Strip Steak with cheddar cheese mashed potatoes? I'm not really sure. He said it was good but it was a little more well done than he would have liked, so he just gave it a B. (We don't go out to eat a lot, so if it were me, I probably would have complained but he doesn't like to be a bother.)

I had this:

DSCN0113.jpg

It was their house burger with maple barbecue sauce and fried onions. It was the best cheeseburger I have ever had. It was moist and tender, and I love anything and everything with BBQ sauce on it. I gave mine a solid A.

Now, because I got a cheapie entree, I decided to splurge and order myself a drink--- it was 5 o'clock somewhere, right? So I got this little beauty:

DSCN0115.jpg

A white sangria with peach schnapps, and it was the perfect summer drink. It was fruity, cool, and refreshing, and not too strong either. And I love that the Tables in Wonderland card also gives you 20% off of alcohol!

Unfortunately, DF and I didn't have room for dessert, so it was time to hobble around world showcase. We didn't spend nearly as much time in the shops as we usually do, but DF adequately explored the Big Japanese Store Whose Name I Forgot, and we did ride Maelstrom. We ended our tour of WS and stopped by Club Cool:

and we had to get the mandatory Beverly shots!

DSCN0120.jpg

Apparently, Beverly makes me happy. Who knew. I also had to get a few cups of the Chinese Watermelon soda, as it's my favorite thing in the whole wide world.

After downing our Bev, DF wandered around in the Art of Disney store for awhile, and then it was time for SSE. Again, I feel like a horrid Disney fan, but I don't really mind the end of SSE, and I think The Dame does a decent enough narration. I still love SSE, regardless. BUT! Our pictures didn't show up on the little thing at the end because DF made a weird face! Who knew those things were censored.

And, when we came out of SSE, it was time for the rains! I did, however, get stopped by one of those survey takers (I always get stopped by them, and they're never quite sure if I'm over 18... sigh...), so that helped us stay out of the rain for a bit. It was time for us to head back to the hotel anyway, so the rain didn't bother us much.

We went back to Pop and laid on the bed for an hour and a half or so (thankfully the above mentioned downpour was much shorter than they had been all week), and then it was time to go back to the MK!

See next post for the rest of the day!
