We returned to CBR and grabbed those mugs and headed to OPR. It was so crowded! It was a small pool with a lot of people. A lot of people were smoking around the tables too, ( I thought this was not allowed anymore?) and I just couldnt relax. So we picked up all our stuff and headed to the village pool. Throughout all this, I snapped some more pics of CBR.
(These were so cute, I wish we couldve enjoyed them )
There were so many little creatures!
We made it to the Jamaica pool and it was a lot more relaxing. I was really looking forward to laying out in the sun, but the clouds had started to move in. Soon enough, it was raining. John doesnt mind swimming in the rain, so I let him keep on swimming and I headed back to the room to nap.
We awoke ( I want to say about 7ish) and headed to MGM for Fantasmic. When we arrived there was some Streetmosphere and they were telling one liner jokes! I wish we couldve caught some more, but I could see the crowds thickening around the Hollywood Hills so we continued on.
Right as we arrived at the Hollywood Hills they began letting people in. Im telling you we had GREAT timing ALL week. I still cant believe what good luck we always had with timing.
We got a nice seat right in the middle. We hadnt eaten since Pizza Planet so we were STARVING. We were afraid by the time we got out we wouldnt be able to grab any CS so we began buying random snack foods and only eating a couple bites because most of it was gross! After wasting nachos and popcorn, I finally got a pretzel and it finally filled me up pretty good. We waited and waited and finally Fantasmic started. It was so amazing! We REALLY liked this one. The storyline is just great. I fell in love with Mickey all over again. John and I still quote the last line from the show every now and then, its our favorite.
(That was the ONLY decent picture I got.)
We had gotten FP for ToT earlier in the day, but tonight was the night that I finally broke the news to John that ToT scares the heebie-jeebies outta me. I cant help it, sometimes I get anxiety pretty bad
so he understood. We made it back home the earliest we had ever been home 10:30! We were feeling adventurous so we decided to head to DTD.
I actually put some makeup on (first time this trip well REAL makeup, ya know?) and John got snazzy and we headed to DTD.
(Can you tell he was getting tired of pictures? Lol)
This was one of the biggest mistakes we made. Im not quite sure why we hated DTD so much, but we did. I want to start off by saying that we arent naïve teenagers or anything, believe it or not, we used to be little punks with pixie cuts and studs, so its not like weve never been to a club before or seen drunk people. Okay. Onward. We bought our tickets(after about a 30 minute line) and headed to Comedy Warehouse. On our way to Comedy Warehouse, I received a lot of cat calls from really old drunken men. I was actually pretty scared. I couldnt imagine going there with my girlfriends. To make things worse, the drunk woman in front of us saw a security guard and felt the need to flash him. GROSS. There were several groups of gangsters or whatever you call them (I dont know the politically correct word for it.) and after wading through them we made it to the last showing at Comedy Warehouse. It was a decently funny show, but it lasted maybe 15-20 minutes. We felt jipped. We paid $50 for our tickets! Feeling ripped off, we headed to the Adventurers Club just to feel as if we got our money worth. We didnt really like this either. We laughed later that we didnt enjoy it because we werent drunk enough, because all the people in there were cracking up hysterically and they were coincidentally WAY trashed. It didnt help that we felt really young and out of place. There were a lot of scantily clad girls and I felt really overdressed. As we headed to the bus stop, we concluded that we just really expected something much more classy with Disneys name attached to it. I know its a nightclub district, but its Disney not Vegas, right? Idk. I think it was just being surrounded by all the sugar coated Disney-ness and then being thrown back into reality was just a bit of a shock. Well know for next time I guess. We made it back to CBR as the sprinklers were running, so we had to run all the way back to our room, trying to avoid them! It was surprising and brought a smile to my face. We made it home and got some much needed sleep.
I hate to leave on such a sour note, heres the classic Mouse himself. Isnt he a cutie-pa-tootie?!
