I've got an XXL-sized Plush Baloo

Thought I'd share with you what I just got off Ebay:

As said I got this one off Ebay. He's over 4 ft tall, weighs almost 20 pounds and is super-cuddly. I wonder if anyone here remembers if that plush Baloo was available to the public - I have the feeling it might be a rare promotional item, intended for display in the Disney stores, or something like that. It was from a private seller and he didn't have much more information about it. Maybe you DISers can tell?

BTW, he didn't came with the book. I put it in his paws for the picture above.

Also, when Circuit City was still in business (possibly other companies as well, but I only know about CC since DH worked there at the time), they had these at their stores when The Jungle Book released as part of the promotion. After the promotion was over, the workers were able to lay their claim. DH got it and we have it here. If you press his paw, it plays part of "Bear Necessities."

Thanks for that link, but mine seems to be a different one than the Movie Rewards Baloo. The seller I got it from also had the one's from the Movie Rewards for sale, and they were definitely different from the one I have here.

The one I have is larger and he doesn't sing - there's no battery compartment and no button that would allow him to do that. The tag says "Disney's The Jungle Book II" and "Made by Douglas Co., Keene, NH" (I can't believe there are Disney toys not made in China...)

The one we have doesn't have a battery compartment either. Once it dies, it dies...no way to fix it unless we rip him open. There was only a tag that indicated where to press for the song...but it ripped off. So unless you know where to push, you'd have no idea there was even anything to push at all.

Anyway, the good thing is that you know the company that made it...you might try contacting them for information about it. Good luck!
