I've got a new kitten!

Some of you might remember my post back in December about my cat that was killed by a dog. You may think I'm being stupid, but since then, I've been feeling rather depressed. Well last night we got a new kitten that I think might make me happier. She is a grey cat and her name is Evie. Of course, she will never replace Poppy, but I believe she's in a better place and I will see her again. Our other cat, Winnie, has not been herself ever since Poppy died, so hopefully she'll feel happier. She's feeling rather jealous at the moment, so we are giving her lots of attention. Hopefully, she'll come round in time.

my daughter tragically, suddenly, lost her cat. It is like losing a member of your family. Her home was so quiet and she was so lonely without her. After several months she got two new kittens. There was so much life and joy in her home and her heart again. There is a magnet at our local pet store that reads, "who rescued who?".......oh so true.
Congratulations on your new furbaby......we understand what your heart has been through.

My cat died in August at age 19. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, I sat on the couch, crying to DH, "There's no cat under the treeeeeeeeeeeee!" (Every year, as soon as we started putting up the tree, she ran under it as if we were putting it up just for her....and she'd spend the better part of her days there until it came down.)

In January, we found a kitten I was not allergic to and I cannot tell you what a difference that little scamp has made in my life. She's alternately loving and affectionate and then, a crazy wild running-through-the-house rascal, slapping at imaginary enemies. There's nothing like a kitten to heal your heart.

So sorry to hear about you dear cat Poppy. I know your new kitten will bring you much joy. I have had many cats and lost them as well due to age or illness and it was a heartbreaking time but still I brought a new kitten into my home and they bring so much joy. Enjoy every moment while she is a kitten because they grow uo so fast.

I remember, I believe I posted on your thread because we had a cat that was killed by a dog as well. I'm so glad you got a new furbaby to warm your heart. They really are something amazing and special aren't they? Enjoy your new little one and know that Poppy is waiting under the Rainbow Bridge for you and she's happy you have a new little one too.
