Its worth a call to Disney!!!

I'm confused about your question. The first page of this thread is about how the OP got a pin for 2013. I've seen at least one other thread today as well.

Can you give me a link to the other one because I can't find it?

I'm just finding it hard to believe because no one else is having the same "luck" plus the dates don't have the typical blackouts like we've seen in years past. Plus room discounts weren't released in the fall until FD had been out for sometime. I would think Disney would release the early 2013 discounts similarly.

There were a few other mentions of PINS received yesterday or today but those were for 2012 dates, not 2013 dates. I have only seen the mention of a pin for 2013 in this thread, no where else. And believe me, I have been looking!

Sorry...I have no idea why I was offered this awesome discount other than I haven't been been to Disney in over 8 years, shop at disneystore.com, log on a poke around dw.com and ordered a custom map last year.. And have the Visa CC. I honestly could careless what you think may or may not true but was only posting the info for anyone to give it a try and call.. That's why it's called random...

I called today and the CM told me I had a discount associated with my household. I tried to get to tell me what it was. She either wouldn't or couldn't tell me what the offer was. All she said was that the offer depended on when you go and where you stay.

In the end, I did book a room from 8/21/13 to 8/26/13 at POFQ. The discount ended up being 20% off the room. Not bad as that was the general public offer for that time frame this year. At least I don't have to wait.

Is this common? How can someone know if they want to make a reservation if they don't know what the discount is? I just assumed that if I called and did indeed have a PIN, they'd tell me what it was for. :confused3

BTW, when I called a few days ago, I was also told that no 2013 PINs had been released yet. I keep hearing that any 2013 deals will probably come out around Nov. I hope they don't wait that long.

I'd have had the CM price out different hotel options then I suppose...that way you could see what the best deal was. It's odd that they couldn't give you more specifics. But woo-hoo for 20% off POFQ!

Or the CM didn't know what he was talking about. Sorry to sound cynical, but this wouldn't be the first time.

Anything's a possibility! I don't think that sounds cynical. I do believe however that the PINs aren't all released at the same time...but that doesn't mean that the CMs know what that schedule is.

I am beginning to wonder if PINS are released on a "rolling" every 2 month basis possibly? The CM was very nice and insisted that I call back after Dec. 1. I called again and spoke with someone different who simply told me that I did not have one associated BUT ALSO SAID that "NO" 2013 PINS had been released yet. So, OP, looks like you may have been the luck recipient of some sort of "error."

Hi Guys,

Just got a pin code and of course the dates I was hoping for are not on it! Go figure. But anyway:

Save up to 35% next year
on a stay at a select Walt Disney World Resort Hotel
for stays most nights 1/2-3/24 and 4/21-5/22/13

I hope any of you who needs it--get it soon!:flower3:

WOW.... I posted this also, as it was told to me when I called to see if an offer was attached to my name .... and some of you didn't believe me.... hmmpf.:rotfl2:

Do you know what the discount was on Values? I want to keep an eye out for that pin possibly especially with maybe a value resort. It really depends on the difference in savings.

I just got off the phone with a Disney Travel castmember who took my information and went to look "for something special" for me. Well, he came back and said that I didn't have a pin code but that there was a "new promotion" that I could take advantage of.

He gave me a quote for a standard room at the CBR May 22 to June 1, 2013, 7 day base tickets with the dinining plan for three adults. The quote was "great" (his words not mine): $4,708.28. Hum, that's not so great since I priced it out online at $4,771.74. The savings would have been a whopping $63.46. I repeated the quote back to him three times just to make sure that I had heard him correctly. I guess I'll wait and see what the "new promotion" really is and price it out myself.

Karma is a wonderful thing!!! Good luck!!

I called and no such luck for me. Boo! Still holding out for a general offer.

So I just called to see if there was a pin under my mothers name. She was getting them this year for 2012 like they were going out of style! Anyway...no. There was not but the very nice CM said November 2013 might be too far out right now and to just keep checking. Also I thought this was weird. When I called and said "resort reservation" it instructed me to enter my pin. Does that usually happen? It then gave me the option to say I don't know it. Weird.

I called and asked about PINs on my account. The gentleman on the other end checked nothing, acted like I had three heads and told me there were no public discounts yet for January. I reitered my request to check for PINs and he repeated the same phrase. I gave up and ended the call.

I won't bother calling back. I'll just wait. I hate talking to people on the phone sometimes.. :)

I just registered specifically to post on this topic. I have been reading all threads in hopes of learning of a discount. Finally called tonight and just asked if there were any pins or discounts associated with our household. The CM kept asking if I had been given a pin in mail and when I said no, she looked for me and encouraged me to keep checking back. She also suggested playing around on the Disney resort site and saving searches or looking at various resorts. Without trying to read into too much, it definitely felt as though there are pins going out and something for everyone is on the way. My CM was the best I've talked to in awhile. She even made sure all my info was up to date!!

the one time I called to see if I had a PIN, I already had my trip booked, and I got an evil CM who told me the same thing - that there was a "new promotion" that was "great" - she reiterated numerous times how great it was. She insisted if I cut the trip short by one day at the end, I could add the Deluxe Dining (i had free QS), and come out almost $1,000 cheaper. It made absolutely no sense and I told her that and she said it was b/c it was such a "great" promotion. I asked her at least 5x to confirm that EVERYTHING else was the the same, primarily that I was still getting the ASMU suite that I had booked and each every time she said yes. (at the beginning of the call she tried to talk me out of suite saying we didn't need it, which is why I kept asking - I didn't trust her). When she read it all back to me at the very end, she said all the dates and reiterated that it was ASMU SUITE, deluxe dining, etc. etc.. I hung up feeling really weird about it......sure enough I get the email confirmation a little while later -- and it says ASMU STANDARD ROOM! I about blew my top. I called back and the poor CM that answered that time got to listen to me scream my head off. Then when she goes to change everything back to the way it originall was (adds day back on, change back to suite, put back QSDP instead of Deluxe), she tells me there's no more rooms available for free dining promotion!!!!! *insert fainting smiley*
Anyways, it all ended up working out but your post reminded me of that b/c the CMs sound exactly the same with their fake "GREAT promotion!"
IDK what that CM thought she would gain by changing my trip around like that! Esp. considering it went down in price almost $1,000. :scratchin
