We are leaving for POR in just 22 days and we can't wait. Any words of wisdom or must see for the DD4 and DS3? DS LOVES horses, so I imagine we will take the carriage ride, do I need to make a prior reservation? TIA for any and all tips you can supply.
Try to make the carriage ride reservations now if possible. We wanted to take a ride while we were down there, but there were no availabilities. We also rented the surrey bike & put our DD5 in the front basket. She loved it! She rang the bell during the whole entire ride.

The food court has really good food. Mmmm...I can taste the spaghetti & breadsticks now. Keep in mind the servings are huge! We ate there almost every day for one meal or another. The first day I bought the adult size portion, couldn't eat it all, so the rest of the week I purchased the child size meals for myself. If your kids aren't big eaters, they can probably even share the child's meals.

Can you tell that a renovation is going on at POR? Is it loud?

I walked around POR quite a bit over the weekend while I was staying at POFQ. If I didn't already know there was rehab going on I never would have guessed it. Everything was quiet and beautiful.

I am thinking about staying at POR in October with my DH, 2DS 8 & 6 and DD
(almost 3). The option of the trundle bed really appealed to me because I don't know if my DD will sleep in a pack and play. I think that I read that there are no elevators in the section that has the trundle beds. How is it staying on an upper floor and carrying a stroller and sleeping toddler up to the room?

I just wanted to add that I am a Polynesian addict but my DD and I stayed here in January because Poly was booked. I LOVED POR! We had a corner room with the two windows and it was just so nice. Loved the big bathroom area and the coat rack. The only other moderate we tried was CS and I was very disappointed. We are thinking of going in June and we will be staying at POR.

Just wondering - if we reserve a carriage ride, will it just be the 2 of us? Or is this more like the hayrides with many people on board? Trying to decide if this would be a nice addition to our anniversary - any info would be greatly appreciated - thanks! :)

No, you dont share the carriage ride. Its just you and who ever you bring. 2 adults is perfect for the carriage, but I believe 2 children can be added, not sure if they use a different carriage when that happens.

407 WDW PLAY to make a reservation

RED23 - there are no elevators, and due to the stroller and sleeping child issue we requested a ground floor room - I wouldn't have been happy trying to negotiate stairs at the end of a long day

Thanks!! :) That's what I was hoping to hear - this might be a great addition to our anniversary celebration, especially if we decide to upgrade to POR. Thanks again! :)

Really, no elevators?! Yikes! Is that true for all of POR and FQ especially? I usually prefer a top floor, but I would expect an elevator even if it is only 2 or 3 stories. That seems odd. If so, I would make sure to request ground floor.

This has probably been asked but I didn't want to read 18 pages. :earseek:

Can you walk to EPCOT from Riverside? I just made a revervation for March 5, only one night and we will be going to EPCOT and will try to see Wishes at the MK. What is the best transportation back from the MK? Thanks alot. :flower:

There are no elevators at AB, but it's only 2 floors, there are elevators at FQ, and I think there are at the mansions, but I am not sure as I haven't stayed there.

Marybet - you can't walk, but there are buses to and from all the parks, and you can get the monorail from Epcot to MK

I am sorry if this has been asked before in past threads. Can anyone summarize the smoking bldgs in POR. I cant seem to get them all straight. TIA for any answers

Just booked the POR for 3/12-3/17 and am really excited for the trip. Thanks to all for all the great tips and advice.

Quick question: Does anyone know if the mosquitos will be in full force for my stay? I read some of the posts from last year, and it seemed like maybe the mosquitos were bad from May on through the summer. Just wondering... I get bit really easily. Thanks again.

Hi all,

I haved stayed at POR before but never with my kids. We will be going in june and was wondering about the bus/boats with a stroller. Can you take the stroller on the boat to Downtown Disney? Do you have to close it up?

What is the best building to stay with three kids (5,4, 10months)?

Thanks

Erin

Erin, I think that I recall them asking people on the boat to close it up. On the busses it is a definite.

We will be staying at POR 3/21-3/28, my questions for you POR pros:
#1 We have booked a "waterview" room, I read on other posts in order to actually see the "River" you need to be on the 2nd floor, is this the case?

#2 I usually request upper floors, as there is nothing worse than hearing the people directly above you clomp around at all hours, (I'm a light sleeper), so for those of you that have been on the lower floor at AB did you find this to be a problem?

I have a 3 year old (and all that goes with) so the 1st floor would be easier thats for sure. Thanks everyone!!

I know that my hubby and I would really enjoy the piano guy, Bob, I think - but is it adults only?

I was in PP room 9725 and it was a nice walk to the food court.......we made the trip several times a day!

Not at all! He has a an early show that is very kid friendly, but even his later show is fine.:sunny:

Couple of questions, hope they haven't already been answered. I don't have time to read this whole thread, sorry.

Anyway, how big is this small fridge? Will it hold a gallon of milk, TWO gallons? Also, does Mousekeeping supply new coffee each morning if you have used up what was there? Or do we need to bring our own?

Thanks!
