but the CM at check-in must not have realized it was a king room b/c we found out when we opened the door.![]()
They should have known, as it would have been on the room information on the checkin page of their computer screen.
The DPMS (Disney Property Management System) will normally Auto-Select an available room (i.e. already vacated and cleaned) when you check-in. However it can also search/sort based on room options, which for Port Orleans are based on a two-digit code for the paid room type and two extra digits for other info.
The first digit is: "O" for French Quarter or "R" for Riverside.
The second is: "A" for standard view, "D" for water view or "K" for King Bed.
French Quarter's 3rd digit is: "C" for Courtyard View, "D" for Landscape View, "L" for Parking Lot View, "P" for Pool View, "R" for River View, "2" for King Bed or "4" for Two Double Beds.
Riverside's 3rd digit is: "G" for Garden View, "L" for Parking Lot View, "P" for Pool View, "R" for River View, "2" for King Bed, "4" for Two Double Beds, or "5" for Trundle Bed Available.
The fourth digit is:
"N" or "S" for Non-smoking or Smoking (now obsolete), "R" for Roll-in Shower or "T" for Mobility-access tub with grab-rails (POFQ only)
I have no idea how the system copes with those third digits though, as sometimes you'd need two of them to include both the view and the bed type.
