This is wishful thinking on my part, but...

If you had a relaxing evening to spend at POR (I'm including POFQ in this, too!), how would you spend it, just hanging out? I've heard about Bob Jackson, so he's on our list. The kids (7 & 9) may want to go swimming, but other than that, ???

Any suggestions will go on my list!
We spent time at the pool and just walking around the resort. They do have a carriage ride you can reserve. I don't know how much it costs tho.

The kids would probably love the arcade. :scared1:
We had a great night sitting outside by the food courts just relaxing. WE brought along the game phase 10 but it was just so nice sitting there, we did not even break out the cards. It was a much needed break.

I would have a drink at the pool while the kids swam.

Also I would walk around the resort.

I would also take the boat ride to DTD and stay on and take it back. That ride is so relaxing.

Find a seat and people watch. I did that while I was there.

The carriage ride but I think it is $30-35 for a half an hour.

Take a surrey bike around the resort.

Ok I am done and exhausted now.

LOL

We wanted to do a carriage ride round the resort but never managed it. We went one night to the bar when Bob Jackson wasn't playing and spent a great night just chatting with the bar staff. They were really nice and were very nosy about Scotland and they all wanted to visit.

Have a creamsicle at Muddy Rivers while the kids swim.... take a walk along the river to POFQ.. let the kids swim there a little.

The carriage ride sounds perfect!

Then, swimming. My children think it is so cool to swim at night! How warm is the water in December?:santa: We hope to get in some pool time!

We rode the surrey bike and had lots of fun.

Okay - I think that we'll need two nights for fun! I guess we'll have to ask the kids just how important the fireworks displays are to them.

Maybe DD & I can take a carriage ride (me with drink in hand :teeth: ) and DH & DS can do the surrey bike! :rotfl2: Make them work for their recreation!

I know that you can reserve a carriage ride ahead of time, but can one be reserved with just a few days notice, or is this something that has to be done in advance?

Are there coffee makers in the rooms at POR? How about a mini-fridge?
I'm sure its been asked, but I didn't go through all the pages.:rolleyes1

We will be there April 18th-27th. Does anyone have any tips for catching the buses? I was looking at the map and there are four different stops. Does it pay to walk a little farther to the main stop? Do you have more chance of getting a seat?

We will hopefully be there 4/19 - 4/26 and go to the South depot. We never had a problem in July with sitting.

Does anyone know how far a walk it is from Magnolia Terrace to the south bus stop.

TIA

Ruth

The main stop is the south depot.. it always seemed more crowded than the other stops during my trip. We used the North Depot

We were Parterre Place and it was 4 minute walk. So I would probably and 3 minutes from there. It really depends on how fast you walk. It really is not far. I found nothing at the resort to be longer than 10 minute walk.

While we are on the subject of buses and transportation, how do time do the multiple stops/shared transport (with POFQ) add to your transportation time? How long is it from the first bus stop until you are out of the resort and onto the road?
