So, we returned..NO BEDBUGS. Very nice resort. Here is my question..
Do you really have to lug your luggage to your building? That was a pain in the butt. We couldn't find anyone to help us.

Bus rides were scary. I don't know what training the drivers go through but wow. Everyone on the bus almost every time said something. We even ran over a curb. However, only once was the bus a little packed. That was on the way to hotel at night from MGM. Other than that 5 minutes was the longest we waited.

Refillable mugs were nice. However, after midnight we couldn't fill them up. They covered the drink stand.

All in all nice resort. Would stay there again.

No, Bell Services should be able to do that for you. Just drop your bags off with them on your way to check in and once you've been given your room number just let them know and they'll deliver your bags. Bit late now though, sorry...

Shame the drinks machines were covered at midnight, I thought they kept at least one side running overnight - but maybe people abused the system?

We will be staying here at the end of september. I am so excited. We wanted to stay in the AB but, DH thinks it will have alot of bugs (mosquitos) since its a little fuller in the plant department. Did anyone have an issue with bugs (mosquitos) around here?

Hi,
Same question? We stayed @ CSR last year, and the POLY previously and were surprised that there were no mosquitos ( unlike Texas in September).
My dh is worried that because POR has so much vegetation that here might be a mosquito problem. Please advise.

Our last trip to POR- Riverside was in August of 2006. Do they still have the ice cream counter? The kids loved going to the counter to get their DDP dessert of: milkshakes, sundaes, and cookie sandwiches.

thanks, what are the additional costs?

we asked about the mugs, the lady said midnight. we went through a few times and they were covered.

Still there. Yummy!

We just got back from POR Riverside, we were there 8 days. LOVED IT!!! We started out in building 17, but had a plumbing leak, so they changed us to building 27. We really loved the locatin of building 27, it was close to the main building and one of the quiet pools. Not too far from the main pool.

The grounds are amazing, we enjoyed walking around and just watching all the wild life (birds, bunnies and small lizards). We took the boat to DTD one of the nights and that was really fun.

The buses were pretty good, the longest wait time at the buses was about 10 minutes.

When splting your stays and using DME there is no problem just tell them at the second resort that you are using DME to go back to airport at checkout. As for your bags call bell service the night before and tell them you are transfering to SSR and they will pick them up and transfer them. One note to keep in mine you won't get your bags at SSR untill late in the day. Go have a good time and when you get back to your room at SSR call bell service and see if your bags have arrived.

I should go digging through this thread for this answer but I'm a little lazy right now....I apologize in advance for asking something that's probably been asked repeatedly!

Which way do the buses travel when going to the parks? Which stops are first/second...etc?
I'm trying to figure out if the East Depot would be better to get on the bus at or the South (main) Depot.

Thanks in advance!

We are staying at POR in September so I have been trying to find out as much as possible about this resort. From the posts that I have read, it seems there is no rhyme or reason as to how the bus stops work. :confused3

Both times we've been at POR the buses have always gone to the south depot to unload first then work their way round West, North and East being last. When we were at the East sometimes we were lucky and got a bus at busy times other times were really long waits and we were better off at South. Our last stay there we were in building 14 so it was the south depot for us.

The main bus stop by the lobby entrance was the last stop when we stayed. The other stops didn't have many people getting on or off.

We stayed at POR 4/13 - 4/21 during a very heavy period with crowds from the northeast on spring break and only one time did we wait more than 5 mins. for a bus, and that was the first day we were there when we went to Magic Kingdom at about noon. The bus system worked great the entire 9 days afetr that one time.

That's comforting to know, thanks for sharing that. :woohoo:

Same for us. :)

West Depot was the first pick up, which worked out great for us. :goodvibes We were in BLDG 25 and this was the closest stop for us. :)

So the south bus stop and the main building bus stop are the same. Right? and the consensus it that it is better to get on and off at the south because it is the first to unload. Is it the first to be picked up too?

Hi everyone,

I'm traveling with two friends who have never been to Disney World before, and they would like to take the monorail tour of Epcot for fun before we enter the park. I've read that there is no bus from POR to the TTC. What would be the most efficient way for us to catch the monorail that goes around Epcot, assuming our initial departure point is POR? Approximately how long would it take from the time we leave POR to the time we arrive at the Epcot gate?

Any ideas and advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Where did you read that? I was under the impression that you have to go to the TCC to get to MK. :confused3
