It's that time of the year! Fruitcake: Yay or Nay!

Fruitcake: Yay or Nay!

  • Yay! I love it and love this time of year, because I know I'll be able to enjoy some!

  • Oh, it's all right. I can take it or leave it.

  • Nay! Eww, it's almost too much to think about!

  • What's fruitcake?

My mother loves the stuff! I think she is the only person in the USA who loves to receive a fruitcake for Christmas.

I say: Nay and Ewwwww! :p

Count me as one who loves fruitcake - one year - every member of the family got me one - they freeze great too!

it depends. i hate the generic kind of fruitcakes that you find in the grocery store, but, for example, harry and david's fruit cake is awesome! :D

If it is a really good homemade fruitcake or one made by Trappist Monks, who for some reason always make unbelievable fruit cakes, with lots of brandy, then I say YEAH!! The generic faux ones in tins in most stores, no.

Here's another fruitcake that loves fruitcake

But just like caitycaity...it has to be GOOD fruitcake. Claxton fuitcake from Georgia is a good one.

I love fruitcake!:Pinkbounc
(There are those who also insist that I'm a fruitcake, but that's a whole other story!;) )

My Mom just baked me a fruitcake - yum, yum!!

My dad likes fruitcake too! It makes me sick just thinking about it.

Hmmm. This is interesting! I don't think my mother has ever had any kind other than the store bought kind and she loves that! I think I have to go on the hunt for a good fruitcake (oxy moron there :p ;) just teasing!) for her before Christmas is here! Do they sell them at the local bakery? Hmm, this is interesting. :p

The Collins Street Bakery is in Corisicana Texas which is between Dallas and Houston. My DW usually picks up a fruitcake there at least once a year.

Williams-Sonoma sells one for $36 baked by Trappist Monks from the Assumption Abbey in Missouri, but even they have limited supplies.

if you have a harry and david store near you, i highly recommend them. (they do mail order too).

I like cake, and some fruit is ok, but together...that's one nasty dessert.
