It's raining!

If one would like to, please send your rain and thunder and lighting, (oh, I am getting excited just at the thought) to Sonoma County, thank you. it has been very warm to hot here, since the first day of Autumn, I need a break please, I do not like to drive though, in down pours, especially not at night.
But when indoors, or if I am not going to be driving very far, then here is my umbrella, and I am happy as a clam in the drizzle, now downpours will get you wet and fast, but one can only become so damp, then that is it.

I have been LOVING the warm weather! Everyone at work has been wilting in the heat except for me. Today was cooler than I like but still nice. The only time I like rain is when I don't have to drive in it and I can stay home and read a good book.

THE SKY IS FALLING!!!

There I was in bed, half awake / half asleep, not quite ready to start my day. My DDoxie was ready to get up for the dday when i heard a big truck roll by the house. What are the neighbors having delivered now?

DDoxie barked at the truck and the world was at peace again.

A minute later... ANOTHER truck. What on Earth? DDoxie runs to the bedroom window and barks like crazy. He was going to catch that truck!!!

I tossed around a bit trying to get comfortable. I talked to DDoxie trying to get him to settle down. Then I heard it....

The drip drip of a foreign sound. Could that be...? nah Is that...? no Is it...?

Another really loud truck and suddenly - AH! - It IS!!!

RAIN!!!

Oh no! The sky is falling!!! Not rain! AHHHHH! Now what??? I have to go to work today. I have to run errands before work. I have no clue on Earth where that umbrella thing that we have not used since I-don't-know-when is stashed away. Sigh... it's going to be a long day.

P.S. Yes, those loud trucks were not deliveries at all. They were thunder.

P.P.S. I realize those of you NOT in So. Cal are hopefully laughing by now, but we don't do rain here. It's just not part of our routine. Even DDoxie is going to be grumpy today. Based on roxydotty's post ^ there, hoping it passes through fast, but oh my is it coming down!!! Excuse me now while I go pull in our patio cushions and probably a bunch of other things that are outside that shouldn't get wet. No really... I hate rain! Give me back my So. Cal.

Just be thankfull you live close to DLR and the Dis is the best during the rain.

Send the rain down here!!! The wild fires started a year ago and a good soaking would go a long way to relieving some anxiety. Feel free to soak us for a couple of weeks. We promise not to gripe too much about the beaches being closed.

Yes, it was and the odd thing was, I never saw any lightning. And of course it didn't rain during the summer. Don't know where all those storms were, I never saw them.

It only rained here in the morning, sometime in the early morning and I'm guessing after 10 am. On the news, I saw that there were going to be some showers, but I just saw that it was cloudy outside my window. When I started walking to school, I could smell the wet floor and knew that it had rained. Then, I was in class the 2nd time it hit, so I didn't get to see the rain and lightning. I'm so happy that I missed it bc I wouldn't want to walk home in the rain. And then I was also happy bc even though it was cloudy, it was still nice and warm! The same should've been for DL today since I live a couple cities away.

here in san diego we had quite the show this morning, at least where we lived we did. We were waiting for my youngest ds school bus to arrive and noticed all kinds lightning. . . this was about 620 am, yes we get up early and start our day early! we had it to the south, east and west of us, have a hill to the north so not a clue if it was to the north, but since poway and RB had a bunch I'd say it was to the north of us as well. . then came the scary lightning, the ones with the rods that split. . . yeah, we all jumped in the car till the bus came. . . all except dh who is from the east coast. . we missed the rain, thankfully, dropped dd off, then ds off at high school and his school was drenched! then off to work dh and i went which was drenched as well! but we missed the rain! and yes, you know you are a so cal resident when the news is all about "THE WEATHER" we had this morning! then it got hot and humid, like VIRGINIA hot and humid weather.. GRRRRR. . . luckily by 4 that crap stopped. . .

I am never more than five feet from an umbrella. I can see one from where I sit. There is one by my desk at work. There is a tiny one in my purse.

Was there yesterday and it only rained for a short time in the morning. The crowds were still large. It didn't stop anyone from leaving! On a side not the sidewalks outside the security checkpoint were really slippery because of the rain! I felt like we were walking on ice!!!
