It's raining!

wow well i hope it hurrys and gets over i have 6days till we get there we dont want no rain

Disneyland in the rain is the BEST.

One of our favorite trips is one where it rained. I remember being on the monorail and looking into DCA and asking if the park was even OPEN as we didn't see a single person in the main gate area.

Anyways, we had seriously NO waits for any ride. One of the best days ever.

I live about 30 minutes from Anaheim and the rain lasted less than 5 minutes. It was just a quick downpour. And yesterday we washed the cars!

:rotfl: I wanna go when its raining... Just bundle up a bit more and enjoy the no crowds

Oh, so it was your fault!

We have been in the park too when it has rained and it was nice not having to wait in line.

THE SKY IS FALLING!!!

There I was in bed, half awake / half asleep, not quite ready to start my day. My DDoxie was ready to get up for the dday when i heard a big truck roll by the house. What are the neighbors having delivered now?

DDoxie barked at the truck and the world was at peace again.

A minute later... ANOTHER truck. What on Earth? DDoxie runs to the bedroom window and barks like crazy. He was going to catch that truck!!!

I tossed around a bit trying to get comfortable. I talked to DDoxie trying to get him to settle down. Then I heard it....

The drip drip of a foreign sound. Could that be...? nah Is that...? no Is it...?

Another really loud truck and suddenly - AH! - It IS!!!

RAIN!!!

Oh no! The sky is falling!!! Not rain! AHHHHH! Now what??? I have to go to work today. I have to run errands before work. I have no clue on Earth where that umbrella thing that we have not used since I-don't-know-when is stashed away. Sigh... it's going to be a long day.

From rainy So Cal,
Dreams (and her DDoxie who for the last 45 minutes is refusing to go outside in THAT even though he really really really needs to)

P.S. Yes, those loud trucks were not deliveries at all. They were thunder.

P.P.S. I realize those of you NOT in So. Cal are hopefully laughing by now, but we don't do rain here. It's just not part of our routine. Even DDoxie is going to be grumpy today. Based on roxydotty's post ^ there, hoping it passes through fast, but oh my is it coming down!!! Excuse me now while I go pull in our patio cushions and probably a bunch of other things that are outside that shouldn't get wet. :rotfl: No really... I hate rain! Give me back my So. Cal. :beach:

The rain must stop! I'll be in DL from Wednesday to Saturday of this week. I don't want to wear a poncho the whole time! :guilty:

I totally agree with you (ponchos and rain are a big pain) - and I will be there from Thurday to Sunday! But, I am not worried. From what I see in the weather reports, it doesn't look like it is going to rain over our days there. In fact, it is supposed to be in the low to mid-'80s and then around 60 degrees, roughly, at night!

So for those who want it to rain on their trips, I wish you lots and lots of rain. And for those of us who do NOT want it to rain on us, I wish for clear skies!

even if it rains once a year here. There is always a complainer.

I'll take all the rain we can get, I love it, and miss it

What's an umbrella? ;)

Some device I've heard others speak about in places I don't live! :lmao: Seriously though... no clue where ours is. I'm sure it's around here somewhere from L O N G ago when we last needed it.

Hey, there is a reason we pay WAY too much for WAY too small of a house. It's this little thing in the sky called a sun. And I want it back!!!

We had a couple drizzles up here in Sac but that's about it. Forecast is not calling for showers again until this weekend and even then it says 'chance of'. We'll see I guess, they are never right on that dang forecast haha.

It just rained for about 10 minutes here. No thunder or lighting though... It's still pretty cloudy and gray out..

I want it to be gloomy on our trip! I'm ready to finally go to DLR when it's not 80+ degrees out!! But, it looks like for our trip the forecast will be sunny and 80 degrees, of course!

i was gonna say...my dd lives in so cal and she definitely would have told me if it was a big downpour...5 minutes doesnt even soak the dirt:lmao:

Actually, I don't agree with some PPs that it "never rains in Southern California" (remember El Nino?) but it never seems to do SO much that I feel like i need an umbrella. Once every year or 2 I go hunting in the closet to see where it went but even when i bring it with me, I rarely take the trouble to get it out. And I actually live in the desert/mountain area where we do get thunder/rain storms occasionally throughout the year but still....no umbrella for me. Too much hassle. I prefer to tough it out with the hood on my jacket. When I was in college (about 10 years ago) I used one to get to my classes when we had all that el nino rain but that's the last time I used one I think.

This morning it rained here for about 1 minute and I didn't know what it was at first because all i saw was blue skies but when i went outside there was one rain cloud directly above our house.

Ahhhhh...the myth about SoCal that Bumbershoot has spoken of...that it NEVER rains in SoCal. I don't think there has been one single year in my entire life in California where it has only rained "once." We do need the rain, but pardon us 'complainers' who have either suffered big problems due to rain (like structurally, to our houses, and flooding of parking garages, or mudslides) or had employers and friends who did. And I personally had a less than great time at DLR last year when it poured on us. That is why I had to go back in December - to make up for what we didn't get to do in late September last year, when we got waterlogged and couldn't take any pictures and my SoCal native friends (just as I am a native too) planted themselves on a bench and wouldn't move because they didn't want to go out and get soaked.

As I said, I wish lots and lots of rain for those who want it on their trips - and there are plenty who do - but for those of us who do not, I wish it to be dry so we can have the best time possible. :goodvibes

There is no dirt in So Cal :) -- it's all cement so even if it rains for a couple of minutes it floods the streets. Actually, where i live now there is more dirt because i'm further away from the LA/Orange County area but when I used to live near Knott's Berry Farm it would seriously flood the sidewalks and streets with only a few minutes of rain, thus my dirt/cement theory.
