IT'S OFFICIAL!!!****OCTOBER 2014****...ROLL CALL!! Join the party!

So, it looks like SIL and sig other have become jealous of our annual DW vacation; they are hoping to join us for our Oct/Nov 2014 trip. I've only ever planned for two adults; WL or AKL every time. Anyone have a recommendation for where two adult couples can stay? Is a suite better than two rooms? I'm not a member nor have I ever used DVC. Are there better options there? Thanks! :thumbsup2

I don't have dates for you listed, did I miss your dates?

Phew! Okay, I think I got everyone. :rotfl:

Please, let me know if I missed you or posted the wrong dates or something. It was not intentional if I did, I promise! :)

Halloween is coming!!! Just finished decorating the inside (just a cool witches hat light and some purple and orange string lights around the apartment). Will carve a pumpkin later in the month for our deck and put a light in it.

We're in an apartment in the city, so we don't get a lot of kids, but we will sit on the deck with a bottle of wine and have candy for anyone who shows up! :thumbsup2

Nope, you got me! :thumbsup2 I'm down with the TBD crew since our exact dates have not been determined (late October to early November). Sounds like I'm talking slag... :rotfl2:

Looks like I'm now joining the October 2014 crew! The exact dates are TBD, but it's going to be the middle of October! Most likely after Columbus day! Where we are staying still is TBD. Thinking staying deluxe for our wedding night and then change to POFQ/POR or a Value. Can't wait to get this all figured out! :goodvibes

Congrats! Planning a Disney trip is so much fun! :goodvibes

Made the mistake of telling DF about the new FP+, and he is NOT impressed. Last time, due to my careful planning, we were able to do alot between park opening and noon each day, thanks to short SB lines and strategic FP use.

Now, he is saying that 3 FP for one park will not work, as we like to hop. And he doesn't like the idea of all other FP being gone by 10 am because that means long SB lines for the rest of the day. He says he would rather spend the whole time at Universal (noooo!!!)

Anyone have any advice on how to pacify him? I've told him that they are still in testing phase, and the new system may not be fully rolled out by the time we get to Disney next October. As I lying to him, or am I being realistic that the current "old" FP system will still be in place this time next year.

In the alternative, if you DO expect the new system to be fully operational, how long do you anticipate SB lines if you attend first thing in the morning/use early EMH?

Thanks!

Good morning my fellow October planners! Haven't said much on here lately (been extremely busy!) but just wanted to check in! We've decided on our trip dates! 10/14/14-10/28/14- a whopping 2 WEEK TRIP! I've never gone for more than 9 days so this will be amazing! 51 weeks to go! :cool1::cool1:

What's everyone's plans on booking? I want to snag a free dining plan so I believe I'll be waiting until they roll the deals out (I'm assuming late spring?)

We're going just after you, on the 18th, in hopes of snagging free dining too.

Hi Darling! My plan is to book my flights first. The easiest thing is to book the 5/6 am flight out of here, which (with a stopover in Toronto) will get me to Orlando by about 12:30 pm local time. However, that makes for a long couple of days because when we took that route last year, we didn't bother to go to bed the night before because we had to be at the airport by 3:00 am :(. WE got off the plane, checked in at RPR ,and headed to US. WE were exhausted and in bed at 8 pm haha. So, this time we are thinking about maybe taking an afternoon flight, getting us to Orlando by 8 or 9 pm, then check into a cheaper hotel for the night. The plan would then be get up early the next day, check into RPR @ Universal, and spend the next two days in the US parks. THEN its finally on to Disney.

So, bottom line, waiting to arrange flights before we book anything else. From there, I will reserve my rooms at RPR and Pop to make sure I have them. I'll try to get my tickets by May/June to avoid any price increases. I also have to book a trip to Jamaica before I go, as we are going there for a week as well from Orlando.

Can't wait to start booking!

Well now that my October 2013 trip is over, I can jump in with all of you! I AM GETTING MARRIED in Disney on 10/4/14 at the Wedding Pavilion & Grand Floridian! So we will be down there prob 9/30 or 10/1 - 10/10 or 11 ...Waiting for our booking window to open with DVC to figure out dates. Hoping to stay at Grand Floridian Villas or Bay Lake Tower! YEAY! :yay:

Wow. What an awesome group already!
We are heading to Disney in about a month, and for the first time buying APs. To make them "worth it", we're planning for next October, too! Our dates aren't firm yet, but we're thinking the last week or so of October.

We want to see the fall decorations, eat lots of food at Food and Wine, and most of all - dress up and attend MNSSHP!!

It's good to meet you all!

Welcome everyone!!!!!!!!!!!! pixiedust:

Congrats on the Disney weddings that are happening! :goodvibes

My family is starting to book their trips, all becoming real now. Most of us are staying at Beach Club first and second weeks of October. We're heading down first on 10/1 (me and Micky) and then two sisters/kids and brother coming the next week.

All this talk about October being so crowded now...oh well! We'll be there 9 nights, so I'm sure we'll have time to hit everything we want.

I can't complain, I'm at Disney! I'm not lucky enough to go every year ( or even every 2 or 3), so I'll take what I can get, crowds or no crowds, magic bands, fast pass plus, whatever!! :rotfl:

I don't think it's that crowded in October.... It could always be worse! It could be Thanksgiving :crowded:

You have a great attitude about it! :thumbsup2 don't worry you'll be just fine!

Hello all. We are moving our vacation to the first two weeks of December. My youngest has been going through some tests and we have learned that he is on the Autism Spectrum. Going in December sends me with his oldest brother definatley able to come and led an extra hand, and set of eyes.

Is it October 2014 yet?? Really missing my happy place lately!

Huzza, after reading 14 pages I can officially confirm and be added to the list that Me, Mrs badger and the 2 badgers 16 & 7 will be at WDW from...

Friday 10th October - Friday 24th October! :banana::banana:

Staying for the entire duration at CBR - Hopefully in Martinique (we have requested that but seemingly cannot be asked for until early 2014?)

We are on the DDP which got added to our trip for free :):) We have 2 week park tickets and flights are booked. And we have paid off 70% of the holiday thus far with the remainder getting paid after Christmas :santa:

I have already started my spreadsheet for planning and hope we will manage a night at MNSSHP.

Oh and this will be our first trip to WDW :hyper::hyper::hyper: I actually think I am more excited than the rest of the badgers :rotfl:
