I think its ridiculous that so many people think they can speak for an entire gender.

I don't hear a man saying that an issue is an all or nothing for every man in the country. Its ridiculous. It makes women look like we cant think for ourselves.

Anyone who wants to overturn Roe V. Wade is the enemy of women.

Even if you never would want an abortion, the ability to have it on the discussion board benefits all women whenever they see a doctor. Whenever they want to use IVF or other conception aids. Whenever they use a Mirena IUD, birth control pills, etc.

Once it's declared that a fertilized egg has all the rights of a woman, the whole ballgame changes.

Again, link to that story. The conservative forces are lining up to take away not only abortion from women, but most forms of birth control as well.

And if the Supreme Court has enough members to declare that life begins at conception, then IUDs certainly have the potential to be illegal immediately, with birth control pills soon to follow.

As for your rants, you are entitled to your opinion...but do not impose your opinion on the rest of us and expect us to follow. Actually, abortion is not one of my key issues. I would never have one, but you know - I don't really care if you do -unless you use it as birth control.

Do not paint Governor Palin as the Enemy of Women - she is not - she may be yours, in your head, but you do not speak for all women. Moreover, I think we, as a country, are well past the days when birth control would/could be outlawed.

He was badly injured initially when his plane was shot down and RECEIVED NO MEDICAL ATTENTION from his captors. Then his broken limbs were REBROKEN. His awkward stance and inability to throw his arms around someone and hug them is A RESULT OF TORTURE.

I would rather have somebody who has enough trust in another person to allow them to do their job - McCain trusting his wife to run the finances of their home, then somebody who doesn't even know how many states that he wants to be the President of. In the one case we have a man who trusts his wife, and in the other case we have a man who can't even remember something as basic as how many states in our country. Sad, sad commentary on BO.

My focus will be on repairing the damage done to our country and doing my part to help bring us, America, back to the place where we always used to be and can be again. My focus will be on doing my part to help bring our country and our people back to a prosperity we haven't known since before 2000. My focus will be on the successes for all of us in the future instead of the gnashing of teeth and petty squabbles, fueled by the media, that plagued us throughout these past 18 months and will continue to plague us until either this election is over or people finally learn to turn the damn box off.

You go ahead and comfort your people. I'll turn my eyes toward the future and will do my part to bring all of us, some kicking and screaming, into the better America that I know we can be.

I saw on CNN EARLY, EARLY this morning that they had reports a plane had arrived from ALASKA containing a woman, two teens, and two men and the airport had told the reporter, "This is the most private flight we've ever received." or something like that.


So it wasn't kept a secret.

However, this was one of MANY items of speculation regarding the selection in the media. Here's how the reports sounded as the morning progressed: "It's likely going to be Romney or the Pawlenty. Hey, it may be Palin! No, her press secretary said she's at home and will go to the State Fair today. Romney and Pawlenty are out. We hear it's Ridge! May be Palin! Don't count Lieberman out either, he's going to Dayton! Nope, not Ridge! OK, we're now hearing details that it's like Palin. Hey, IT'S PALIN!" The media was doing the "headless chicken" routine darting back and forth between possible candidates until about 60 minutes before the McCain/Palin rally started.

Now he gives the nod for VP to unknown Gov. Sarah Palin, he does this only to court the women's vote.
