I think that's a fair question, but I do think McCain's health is pretty good for his age. Cheney's health was a question mark in 2000, but as VP with a healthy running mate, I think most people didn't really care. I just saw my 76-year-old uncle recently and he's looking really good. I think he and McCain will both last another 8 years.

One thing I never hear the OS mention, exactly how old is John McCain's mom? How old were Barack Obama's parents when the died? The telling may be in the genes.

I'm basing my beliefs on over eight years of witnessing Karl Rove campaign tactics and media manipulation. Die-hard Conservatives aren't known for their trust of women in power - ANY woman in power. Her being pretty appeals to that base of neanderthals and the kicker will be, "Look....she won't have any power anyway. But this is how we're going to win the election."

I'm basing her intelligence on her acquiescence in acceptance of the position offered. She's being willingly used.

Yep he watched that speech last night, and then got on the phone and arranged a private jet to fly her and her family out without anyone knowing about it, because of Obama's speech last night.

I saw on CNN EARLY, EARLY this morning that they had reports a plane had arrived from ALASKA containing a woman, two teens, and two men and the airport had told the reporter, "This is the most private flight we've ever received." or something like that.

Well I HOPE she would advise her president, what with that being her JOB and all as vice president. She's a sharp, sharp woman. I'm sure he'll listen to her. She has executive experience, he has 3 decades of legislative experience, and they BOTH have experience reaching across the aisle, challenging the status quo, and confronting corruption. Again, probably not a road you guys want to go down when it comes to houses. Tony Rezko ringing any bells??? You know what, we McCain supporters know how upset you guys are, with most likely Obama losing in November. I personally would be uncomfortable leaving my young children much of the time for work reasons, whether it be as a business traveler or as VP of the US.

I wanted Hillary to break the glass ceiling, very strongly, but I was glad that she had a GROWN child that she didn't have to raise anymore.

That's all I meant.

Does that same line of thinking go for Obama and his kids?

And if you didn't notice, Hillary was employed full time as an attorney AND was out campaigning with Bill while raising Chelsea. She used a LOT of that experience to her advantage to give her credibility as being more experienced than BO on the campaign trail this time. She was a very active and travelling First Lady while still raising Chelsea. Working moms are a reality. Don't underestimate a woman's ability to work and raise a family at the same time.

THis wasn't addressed to me but I just want to thank you for saying it.

I'm the one who said it, and I believe it.

Anyone who wants to overturn Roe V. Wade is the enemy of women.

Even if you never would want an abortion, the ability to have it on the discussion board benefits all women whenever they see a doctor. Whenever they want to use IVF or other conception aids. Whenever they use a Mirena IUD, birth control pills, etc.

Once it's declared that a fertilized egg has all the rights of a woman, the whole ballgame changes.

Again, link to that story. The conservative forces are lining up to take away not only abortion from women, but most forms of birth control as well.

And if the Supreme Court has enough members to declare that life begins at conception, then IUDs certainly have the potential to be illegal immediately, with birth control pills soon to follow.
