It's Official - Contemporary DVC (The Kingdom Tower)

If I thought that would be easy and still get a HA studio with roll-in shower, I'd not own there. Truth is I'm happy at SSR. But with the size of this resort and the location I expect handicapped rooms to be in the highest demand.

they will definitely be a high demand. the CR was build back in the 70's - so very, very few HA rooms.

that has been a complain for quiet a while.

so expecting even more than normal at KTR - since the CR has so few. Of course with the new name maybe they are trying to made it be a stand alone DVC resort - without having to made up for the lack at CR.

Are you suggesting that as part of CR, there would have to be more HA rooms in KTR? But alone it wouldn't have to have more; just the amount required for that standalone resort?

Incidentally, I have seen a fully accessible room in the CR Tower. It was lakeview. Nice room. But I think they only have one other roll-in shower room in the Tower (Magic Kingdom view).

FWIW, BCV only has 15 accessible rooms and I believe only 5 are fully accessible. Once I learned that I never expected to get a room there at 7 months. That's why I'm planning to need a KTR/CRV ownership to get a room I need.

I don't think they'd have to make up for lack of HA in a new resort. They only have to build to code. And any preexisting resorts don't need to be brought up to code. I don't think they're going to go above and beyond what the code requires. JMO But I'm sure there will be more HA percentage wise in a new building.

This already exists in VWL for the most part -- short boat ride to MK. Better theming too IMO. Yet resales abound at $82 a point. Don't understand the big deal about CRV -- and sure as heck wouldn't pay more for it. This is pure marketing at its best -- take a "has been" resort and turn it into a DVC property, convince folks that the monorail is worth tons of extra $$$, and then 3 years from now resales will be at $8x a point like everywhere else.

There is a price point where DVC doesn't make sense for many folks -- and this may just be it! We'll have to see though, to be sure. Way premature to speculate. But why not?!

Ever stayed at a monorail resort? There's nothing like it. WL is a beautiful resort, but it would be much better if it were on the monorail.
