It's Official - Contemporary DVC (The Kingdom Tower)

There will br a restuarant on top, like California Grille is at the top of Contemporary. I recall seeing that on the renderings.

We believe the top two full floors are grand villas due to the window structure and Spicy's relative comment on the plans he saw. Now that extra little bump on top might be something??? Or perhaps they could put something on the 4th floor next to the bridge to CR??? Not sure where the top floor restaurant comment came from. Do you remember what rendering?

Why not, just ..."The Tower @ COntemporary" thats sounds more "upscale" than Kingdom Tower....just a thought.

They already have a classification called "Tower" at the Contemporary. As opposed to the Garden Wing. They have "tower MK view" and "tower lake view" as I recall.

oh thats right...no wonder why it came to mind via sub conscious!

Now for the important stuff...who out there can redesign my CRV signature to say "Kingdom Tower"?:rotfl2:

Finally - The Kingdom Tower!! - Now if there if anything left after my tax filings next month!! :confused3

I better start saving now!!! we are going to do our first add on at the contemporary when its announced...i also hate the name.:flower3:

I agree that the top two floors look like GV's, much like those at SSR. Can you imagine the view?

I'm so excited!

I thought the price per point would be much higher, but it makes more sense to make the points per night higher. That way it is more expensive for everyone. :thumbsup2

Oh and it's not the goats fault, Cubs choke on everything, not just goat (go Sox).

Ah Kingdom Tower, sounds like Babylon. I wonder if the thing on top is a crown. They can call it the Crown Lounge. ;)

Now the question is when do they start selling points. I thought Florida wouldn't let them sell anything until the building was 70% complete. I thought "complete" meant inside and outside. The shell looks to be about 50% done but there's still another 6-9 months before they get the insides done too. Yet the article quotes a state official saying Disney could start selling now.:confused3

Also it mentioned 1 and 2bedroom units but no studios. But don't the floorplans call for 2bedroom lockoffs?

As you can tell, I'm shooting for a small add-on. Just enough for 3 days in a studio.

i'd like the 3 day stay in a studio too!!

Oh, and it is the goat's fault!

Well we will try at the 7 month window at least once.

:-)

If I thought that would be easy and still get a HA studio with roll-in shower, I'd not own there. Truth is I'm happy at SSR. But with the size of this resort and the location I expect handicapped rooms to be in the highest demand.

I decided to email the reporter who wrote the story and ask him about the point chart he saw. I was pleasantly surprised to get a very nice reply from him.

He said he didn't put the points in the story due to the fact he didn't have enough space to get into that kind of detail and he didn't want to make an error because he wasn't an expert on DVC points.

Being as I am a novice at all things DVC myself I didn't know how to make sense of some the information he gave me. I just recently passed ROFR on a small Boardwalk contract.

Now I don't know what etiquette dictates as far as how much of his email I can quote. He did say it didn't have the highest point totals in the Studio or Grand Villa categories just in the 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom categories.

He did go into the External Exchange Program rates as well.

Maybe someone on this board could email him and ask him better questions than I did and ask if it is OK to quote him on a message board. The reporter seems to be a very, very nice guy.

I'm a new owner and all I can say is...boy do I have a bad case of "add-on-itis"! DH is gonna have a cow! :rotfl2:

I just saw there is another thread on this topic and somebody else got the same idea I did and emailed the reporter only she got permission to quote him and she quoted the same email information I got on the other thread.
