We kinda got lost tonight (just me and my kids).
I have a horrible sense of direction (and I'm the type that refuses to stop to ask for directions, I'd rather get myself even more tangled up in getting lost than to stop and ask
). I know at one point, I told myself "Well, I have a full tank of gas. I'll either find a way to go home or I'll be headed for Timbuktu. No need to tell the kids we're lost." Well, evidentally I said that last sentence outloud.
My ds started laughing in that mean little 6 yo mama's boy way he has
(his laugh makes me laugh
). My dd yelled "NOT AGAIN!" My ds, decided he would just get comfy and enjoy the ride.
After about 5 minutes, I realized where we were at, so we were ok. I forgot to tell the kids though.
We were within 5 miles of home and my dd still had no clue where we were.
Given, it was dark by then, but still! She's traveled on that same road for 9 1/2 years! When we passed the local video store, she was happy she knew where she was.
She has my sense of direction. It was another bonding moment for us.
