SO how was everyone's labor day?

Mine was good the DFAC cooked some BBQ, and we had some extra desserts out. I also ran a 5k, I have another one to run on September 11th in rememberance I think it will be fun.

What did everyone else do?

I think I have it all fixed....

Thanks! I think you got all we know for no!

I made updates to my TR, and paid bills. I think that's the best I can do!

We had thunderstorms, so no cooking out for us!

My boys both had friends over Sunday night, and we had a TORNADO WARNING!!! I had all four of those boys RUNNING!!! Thankfully DH kept a level head, checked the location (in our town, but not close to us), and stopped me from stuffing us all in the closet under our stairs!!! :lmao:

Ok to understand this story you need to understand I am a west coast girl. My Drills at school were in prep for an earthquake followed by a Tsunami.

My first time to the lovely Fort Leonardwood there was a Tornado warning. Me and my friend that lived down the hallway who was also a west coast girl had no clue what to do. We knew what to do in earthquakes but not tornados. So we asked the guy across the hallway, we told us if the tornado was spotted to get in out bathtubs, as it was the safest place.

Now Tornado warnings just mean a super cool thunderstorm and pulling out all the flashlights/candles.

Oh and it was not until I got to Afghanistan that I felt my first earthquake (in fact I think we have felt like four since I have been here). I just kinda look up at my Soldiers and we all say was that an earthquake or did we get hit with a bomb? Well we didn't hear an explosion must be an earthquake.

We felt our first earthquake in NC - last summer, I think. It was the one that cracked the Washington Monument. Our house was actually shaking a little! Very strange feeling! :scared1:

It was last summer... August 23, in fact. The epicenter was in my neck of the woods! There is still damage in our area that is being repaired.

Pam I am so excited for you and your trip tomorrow. I know you will have a great time, get some rest and have fun. I will be thinking about you and saying a prayer for great weather and lots of pixiedust: for you and your family.

Are you going to do any updates or wait for your trip report when you return? Either way is super.

Ann

Thank you so much :goodvibes

We're here and having a wonderful time. Only problem is it is so HOT!!! I did a little update earlier. I don't want to say too much w/o pictures so I dont repeat myself.

I just love being back here.

Good morning, Js & Ks! :sunny:

Back to school today! :yay: Lesson plans are done but I have to run off some supplemental materials this morning. Other than that I think I am ready to hit the ground running again.

Welcome back Laura, glad the trip was good.

I think I would rather share dinner. Or lunch. Or a sunset. Or.... :rotfl:

I was in Amsterdam at time, and did not know anything about it until later. I only had one box fall, I think I told you guys that it was my Grandmother's China...

I can't believe you're a West Coast gal and never felt an earthquake until Afghanistan! I can't even count how many I've felt! However, being less than a mile from the epicenter of the Northridge quake is not something I care to repeat!

Ditto - we have felt at least a couple here in Portland, nothing over a 5ish thank goodness! Once when my brother was in driver's training he accidentally went through our garage door too and the whole house shook - I thought that one was an earthquake too! :rotfl:

Hi! I have searched and searched for this answer without luck, however, I am sure someone here knows the answer.

Does AKL have savannah view rooms with King rooms, 2 Queen rooms and Bunk Bed rooms all on the same floor? I'm helping a friend plan her extended family vacation and each family wants something different but they'd like to request to be on the same floor, same area together.

Thanks in advance,
Dawn

Hello to all my J's & K's :grouphug:

We had a nice weekend, celebrated my DH's birthday on Friday night. Had dinner at a friends Saturday evening. Went shooting on Sunday! Really had a lot of fun at a new outdoor gun range, great group of people with nice facilities.

Getting organzied for our vacation. You know the drill, make sure photo cards are empty, gathering items together in the guest bedroom. Silly but necessary stuff. Have a couple more items to pick up.

Well I worked hard Saturday, Sunday I couldn't get out of bed until noon! :rotfl: Then I went to a party, came home cooked dinner and did chores. Today I hope to get an installment on my TR and finish paying bills that I didn't get to yesterday. So not ALL work!

When do you get your two (hope for more) days off to just sleep in, DIS, and eat out? Hope it is soon my friend. ::yes::

Thank you so much :goodvibes

I am so happy for you Pam. Hope it cools off and no rain unless it is while your sleeping.

We also prefer a king room. However I have been told there are only a very few kings in the entire resort unless you are booking a one bedroom villa. We usually stay club level at AKL and always put a request for a king room. We have received that request once in our stays.

How nice of to help your friend plan her extended family vacation. Do they have enough people to be a Magical Gathering? Magical Gatherings are assigned a CM to help to organzine the group plans and to be a liason. Link is here: http://allears.net/pl/magath.htm#a1

I am certain that all room types are available on the same floor, however if they all are close together, if all would have a savannah view and be available during your friends stay is the question.

Hope this helps a little.

:)
