Congrats Brandi!!!!!

I'm so far behind you all, I'm 50 away from 14,000! Maybe with our new high speed internet I'll get a higher post count quicker!

I haven't even hit 3k yet!

Good afternoon everybody :)

:wave2:

It's still about 1,000 miles east of Puerto Rico -- but the models show it could impact Florida.......... next week? (Still way too early to tell!)

With so many WDW trips under my belt, I honestly don't worry about the weather any longer. It's still my Happy Place, no matter what the weather! ;)

(I have the feeling I have lots of company in that regard! :thumbsup2)

:goodvibes

Great attitude!:thumbsup2

I am thinking of booking a 2 bdr at Jambo house buying DVC points. Can anyone tell me what the room layout would be? Would the value and Savannah have the same space?

If I considered Kidani 2 bdr what would be the layout difference?

I have stayed at both of these in a studio and I like Jambo house better, but if I would get a better layout I might go to Kidani.

there are room layout pics as well as anything else you could possibly think of - if you have any other questions, ask away!!

HI everybody or should I say JAMBO. Just found this thread. We are staying in a 1 br at Jambo from Nov 9th to Nov 17th. Ive been over on the Nov trip planners thread since it started. But I was looking for info on AKL as this is our first stay there. We are really excited.

I was reading at alkresort.com that they are not going to do safaris anymore as of 11-21-2012. So the only one you can book if you arent staying club level is Wild African treck right? Had anyone done this is it worth it?

I just check on the Disney cruises and interesting. The Magic leaves October 6th from Galveston on a western Carbbean 7 day. The Dream leaves October 7 on a 4 night Bahamas cruise.

OK................................................................ that is just too much information for me. My hands are shaking typing this. Could he have booked a Disney cruise?

Ann

There is also an Easter Caribbean cruise on the Disney Fantasy leaving out of Port Canaveral on the 6th.

Ann,

Here's a link to the first page, but don't feel like you have to read all 31 pages...you could be there all day. People just post their recipes with or without pictures. We also talk about what we're going to make that night/week, holidays etc. And a whole bunch of other stuff, just like here. Fun bunch!

As far as the Doctor, it was sort of good news. He gave her something to help the Arthritis, but if you think of pain killers, this would be like giving tylenol with coedine to someone who usually takes morphine for their pain. It's a very old Arthritis drug and is effective for moderate arthritis, but not severe like she has. It is better than nothing though.

She definitely can't have her normal drug until all the wounds have healed up. The doctor's think that the set backs she had in healing were because she took the drug in June. On the good side, she was told that she can now take showers without having to wrap her leg in Saran Wrap. Just take the dressing off, shower and then I redress the wound after the shower. THIS IS A BIG DEAL!

I am glad that Fran is making some progress.

Wow! Unusual for them :rotfl: usually Delta has not so great customer service.
One time I flew into Ft Lauderdale, and our luggage somehow got on the next flight. We landed close to midnight, and they shut down their luggage delivery at 1am. So they told me my luggage would be delivered first thing In the morning -rush, we were only at hotel over night due to lateness of flight before we continued on. Our luggage didn't arrive till 5pm :scared1: hardly what I call a rush delivery for first thing in the morning. We had nothing, not even pjs to sleep in. And we had to wait at hotel till 5pm for luggage, and pay for late check out. Delta did nothing for us. And basically didn't care

That really surprises me. We had nothing but spectacular customer service from Delta. I work for an airline in a senior customer service role (Reservation supervisor) so my expectations are pretty high and they have not only consistently met my expectations, but usually exceeded them.

Looking into staying at AKV-KV for our next trip late 2013/early 2014...would have to be Kidani since those villas can hold 5...just hoping we wont be stuck at the far end of the building when we stay!

It is truly a wonderful place :) you can always request to be near the lobby, they try to work with you when they can. I have to say the AKV CMs are some of the best I've encountered.

Not going to do safaris anymore :scared1: say it isn't so! I'll have to look this up.

The Wild Africa Trek is something done at AK, and is available to everybody with park tickets not just AKL guests.

Congratulations on your trip :)

Now Im making a liar out of myself I cannt find where I read that. I could have swarn I read that :confused3

Sorry didnt mean to start any rumors

Alison, I'm glad Fran is making progress :) How is her pain today?

She's still in a lot of pain, the the shower made her feel better.

 I feel like such a light-weight. I've been here since January 2003 and I had to play a game to get my count over 8,000!!! Pathetic! :rotfl2:

:wave2:

That games forum is how to rack up the post count, you can also waste a lot of time in there!

WTG!:cool1:

I haven't even hit 3k yet!

Try the games you'll be at 5K in no time!

I am glad that Fran is making some progress.

Corinna

Thanks! I have a question for you, where and what time (on the Wonder) do you guys usually have the first DISmeet with everyone on your cruise thread. We finally have one and a small FEE group together.

I think that was "old" information. The Sunrise & Wanyama Safaris at AKL are safe! :thumbsup2 There are no other safaris at the Lodge.......... at least none that I'm aware of! ;)

I believe what Kerrie saw was about the Wildlife Discovery Excursion (safari) -- gone for over a year now. I enjoyed it, but wasn't overly impressed.

The Wild Africa Trek is the replacement and it is a much better experience than the WDE was (to me, anyway! I did it the first month it was offered. :)) Pricier, yes, but you also get the Photopass CD and you can load ALL your vacation photos on it, making it an even better value! ;)

We did the Trek in Dec 2011 and were unable to get any other pictures added to the photopass CD. It was solely a CD with the Trek pictures. I don't know if that is still true, but we were told that initially when the Trek was offered you could add other pics but as of the date of our Trek, not offered anymore.

Is that still the same or have they changed it again? It would be great if they did as dh and I are going in Dec 2013, and want to do the Trek again!

Oh, they got stingy. :sad2: As I said, I did it when it was first offered. I guess several months later, the rules had changed. :( It is nice to have the Trek pictures on the CD, but would be nicer if they'd let you load all your vacation photos. :confused3 Come on, Disney!! :flower3:

I don't even know what the Trek costs now. I'm almost embarrassed to say I paid $129 for it! I think it is a great experience, worthy of doing at least once! :thumbsup2

Yes you are right it was the Excursion. thank you for helping me clearify that. Im pretty sure my girls are too little. So Hubby and I are considering putting them in the kids club and doing the Trek with out them. Especially since it includes a dinner that I know wont appeal to them. I guess we'll see, he's a little nervious about leaving our youngest at the kids club she's pretty little but she's potty trained so she qualifies. I just want to do something fun with my husband just us.

I haven't read through everything yet but just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Jess and I'm a new DVC owner. Me, hub and two sons age 9 & 1 are staying in a 1BR Savanna view from dec 6-14. We are very excited as we have never stayed at AKL before or any deluxe.

I look forward to getting to know everyone, getting tips and seeing pics :)
