With doing most of Epcot yesterday...we have visited every park except Animal Kingdom.
We only have one day planned for the AK and we wanted to hit it early. It was a EMH pm day so we had from 9am-8pm to enjoy the park. Given that there's not a whole lot we want to accomplish. Tiny and I want to tackle Expedition Everest as many times as possible...and we (Tiny and myself) traditionally hit Kali River Rapids at the end of the day. We wanted to catch the Nemo Musical...we have been here before and missed it for some reason or another...so that is our "thing we have never done." Boy likes Dinosaur and Primevil Whirl...We all like the Safari Ride and the Festival of the Lion King. Also Tiny's Science and Social Studies Teacher wanted him to do a report on a topic of his chosing to make-up for any homework he would miss. He chose Rafiki's Planet Watch. So that's the agenda.
Again we drive to the park...Animal Kingdom from the CSR you take a left on LBV Drive...then left onto Oceola Pkwy...then there is the AK Parking Toll booth...not much of a crowd yet...and we get parked in the Unicorn lot...not close enough to walk though so we wait on the tram.
After we get thru the gates I collect the tickets...FPs for EE is my agenda...and Mel and Boy go to Isle Merchantile...Tiny and I head toward EE. Yes I have company...we decided that if the line was short we were going to ride. We arrive at EE and the FP are only 10 minutes away...the Standby line says 10 minute...so we opt to ride first...we walk through the maze and wonder when we will reach the end of the line...we find it at the place were they queue you into the cars...sweet!!!
Tiny and I end up rideing 3 times before we give up...still the FP tickets are only minutes away...so I call DW and say...do you really want FPs for this??? (Mel and Boy didn't really want to ride...but were going to just for Tiny and I.) So we head back to Discovery Island to find Mel and Boy. From there we hit Pizzafarri for Brunch. I love the Hot Itallian Sandwich here...we all get that except Tiny who get Pizza. I listen to a really old Cast member giving a tour around the Dining area and I see here goto this small section and point up and I hear some magic words...Oposums...no Hidden Mickey...so once she leaves I go investigate...this is what I found... Have to look sideways...
Yeah I question it...but that is where she pointed.
From there we goto check out the Festival of the Lion King...on the way I get a picture of these guys...
We love the FotLK show. But for some reason We always get there late and are seated in the Giraffe section. Just once I want to be a Warthog...anyway it doesn't matter where you sit...it's a fine show be you Lion, Elephant, Giraffe, or Warthog.
From there we head to Africa...of course we check out the gift shops...and I snag some FPs..then head to Rafiki's Planet Watch for Tiny's Report...and we like it over there.
We make the train ride and make our way up the path to the Conservation Station...I find som HM's on a Butterfly.
Here's a neat feature I've missed on previous trips...they have stations where you can look in on the different animals in the backstage areas.
After reading the Kingdom Keepers series I learned about these cameras...pretty cool...here is the Giraffe's camera...
What the Camera stations look like...
Here's a Picture of Tiny and some CM's and a Hedgehog...who is hiding.
Then onto some more information stations...
Here's Tiny holding a piece of Plastisized Elephant Poop...CM Sloane becomes very important in a moment.
We go on arounds looking at the Bugs and Reptiles...then we get approached
by a lady who sats we have been selected for a Magical Moment...cool
She takes us back to Sloane...who takes us backstage for a moment...into the room about 2 pictures above...here Tiny get to play a game...
The Game is Called...go ahead read the picture...
Then Sloane goes on to tell how they study the hormone levels in the animals to determine when they are ready to mate...or if the animals are pregnant. This I s apicture of a Teeter plate which they have used...I forget what color menas what...
Then she gives Tiny this one to keep...
Then Sloane tells us about the Elephant communication studies...
This is the collar they attach to an elephant and records the sounds...
Before we leave Sloane takes a Family shot...
And gives us each one of these pins...
So that's the Crap on crap...
