It's My Birthday and I'll Go to Disney if I Want To! **NEW 6/23 p.8 Sick and Sicker**

Then I joined Tour Guide Mike. :sad2:
 That was me last year!!! I waited too late to join, had already made ADRs and then joined. I was calling to change those ADRs until the day we left! Trying to get to the green parks, ya know.

Anyway we followed his advice and it was :thumbsup2 !!! Don't leave home without it!

BTW....never eaten at Sci-Fi and you are too young and cute to be wearing BLACK crocs. Be adventurous! Get a fun color!

Keep it comin'! :moped:

April 29, 2007:

Let’s see…some updates.

I’ve decided not to push the Poly issue. I seem to be charging more and paying off less so I really need to chill with the unnecessary spending. POR is great and we’ll be just fine there. :thumbsup2

DSIL probably won’t be joining us. She anticipates being very busy with work since she is taking a 2 weeks vacation shortly after our WDW return. That’s fine with me. To be honest, the kiddos are much better behaved when mommy or daddy aren't around. :thumbsup2

I made a pretty decent itinerary of what parks we’re going to, when, what restaurants we’ll eat at, factored in pool time. I thought it was pretty much done. :thumbsup2

Then I joined Tour Guide Mike. :sad2: Last night actually. Looked at the best park days for my dates and realized that about half of it would put me at the “don’t even think about going here today” park. It also would give us no MK time. I don’t know if this is legal to post or not but how can it be bad to visit MK every single day? Anyway, I’m revamping to try to follow TGM while also seeing what we want to see. I’ll post that in a few days.

I’m thinking of adding another ADR as well. For Sci-Fi Dine in. I’ve heard the food isn’t too great, but if you stick to burgers you’re ok. It looks fun to eat in there and I think the kids would really like it as well. Opinions?

I did some shopping! :woohoo: The Gap finally came through for me and I found a pair of cute Bermudas (black) and a couple tanks on sale (orange and baby blue). I’m also in the process of designing matching shirts for the 4 of us for my Mom’s bday via Zazzle and deciding what Crocs I want. Not sure about color or size. I tried on a couple pairs today at Nordstrom. I’m really a 7 ½. But I know the crocs are supposed to be loose. But are the 8’s too loose? And are the 7’s not loose enough? And I’m debating between black and brown. Starting off with some neutral colors. Heck, I may even get both colors if I’m feeling really extravagant.

I think that is everything for now. Now that I know exactly when I’ll be there and when I’ll be leaving, I’m way more excited and in the mood to plan plan plan!

Thanks for reading!

Trust TGM...yellow can be ok but avoid the red parks. Trust me. You will see the lines at the bus stop and realize he was right on the money and be glad you didnt chose to be one of 'them'. I joined late last time and I posted on their boards, and everyone helped me pick which days to move around and re-arrange my ADRs. It was well woth the planning to do that! We never waited for anything longer than 10 minutes.

Get a fun color pair of crocs!! Black will be hot on your feet. I have the black flip flop style, and I get tan lines on my feet so fast because they are black. I wonder if you would get little circle shaped tan marks from the cut outs with black crocs? Hmmm....Anyways, shoebuy.com has the best prices on them and free shipping and free return shipping, no tax. (if you sign up for their email list you get a code to save right away off your first order too- maybe 20%?)Get the 8's, they need to be roomy and your feet do swell during the day too.

Thanks for the tip about your finds at the Gap. I havent ventured in there in a LONG time but I may check them out now that I am down a size or so.

To be honest, the kiddos are much better behaved when mommy or daddy aren't around. :thumbsup2
Isn't that always the way?!

We went last Dec. and it really is a lot of fun! My chicken sandwich was, well, horrendous. But my mom's Reuben was great and I see they've since taken the infamous chicken sandwich off the menu, so I think you'll be safe!

Wow I'm so sorry for the lack of updates. But I was confusing myself with both trippies going on at the same time. Yes, I'm still working on the May TR (actual need to start it first  ) but I think I can now get back to updating you all on my pre-planning adventures! It's just over 3 weeks away and I'm very excited about it - especially with the teaser trip I just returned from this weekend.

So stay tuned...I'll try to post an update later on this week.

Thanks for reading! :cutie:

Shanon, i am really enjoying your thread! I almost clapped when I got to the part about your friday off! I'm looking forward to reading the rest!

In 2 weeks I will be checking into POR! :cool1: Just wanted to share in my excitement and let you all know I'm working on the next installment!

Thanks for reading! :cutie:

Hi! Thanks for joining my TR! If you were that excited for me, imagine how I was feeling when I saw it on my schedule! :cool1:

Another update on the way...

Sunday May 27:

I have lots of updates today! First off, thanks for still reading and coming back even though I’ve been a little lax with the updates. My other trip that I went on with a girlfriend is over and I’m slowly working on that TR while also finishing up plans for this one. It’s really close – 2 weeks from now I will be in MGM! :woohoo:

I have made some purchases. A few more pairs of Bermuda shorts, not necessarily for this trip, but I will be bringing some of them. They are my current fashion obsession. I can’t seem to get enough of them.

My Crocs arrived awhile ago and I had a great chance to test them out during this past weekend at Disney – and they were wonderful! I don’t know if I could say they hurt any less (I should say tired feet not sore feet) but they were great and light and my feet definitely did not feel worse! I have found the official shoe of all my future Disney trips. :thumbsup2 Even today, I went shopping at a very large mall down here and I wore my comfy, but not Croc, flip flops. Half way through the mall I was killing myself for not wearing the crocs. I still think they are horrendously ugly, but they are C O M F Y! Oh and I have since added some jibbitz to the crocs – Pluto, Mickey and the Castle.

I also ordered and received shirts from Zazzle. What an ordeal that was. I ordered a Large for my mom and I in the Ladies Basic Tee (not the fitted one, just the ladies tee). When we got them, it was more like a Large in child sizes.

Did anyone see that episode of Friends wear Ross takes back the shirt he gave Rachel, that says “Frankie says relax”, puts it on and it was practically painted on him because it was so small?

Well that is how my mom and I looked in these shirts. Not a pretty sight and I’m sorry for the mental image. It was insane. So we are in the process of sending those back and have since re-ordered and received the XL in the same style. Much better although still snug. But stretchable snug. Like if I wash it and pull it in all different directions, it will be perfect. Of course the tees for the kiddos are great. Here they are, our names are on the back and the pic is on the front:

I’m also making goodie bags for the kids for in the car. So far it will have Mickey shaped sugar cookies that I’m tempted to frost in lime green, just because ;) . A travel journal that I found at The Mouse For Less . Com for Claire to fill out if she desires too. One jibbit each for Claire and Owen to put in their crocs. And some pins as pictured below, including some pins I have, shall we say, acquired, back in my college program days :rolleyes1 :

Claire's:

Owen's:

Now for some actual planning info. I have finally added the kids to the reservation and also paid off the balance for the room so I could get some more Disney dollars before my statement period ends. The Disney Visa people must love me because I am out of control with the spending. :scared1:

I was unable to get Sci Fi for dinner on Sunday but I was able to score a 3pm ADR there so I’m moving around the itinerary to do it since we all really want to eat there. :thumbsup2

I bought my AP when I was at Disney last week and we’re still deciding what tickets to get for my mom and the kids. I’m thinking with me being a lot more busy in the fall and winter with school we won’t be making nearly as many trips so the AP probably wouldn’t be the best choice. We’ll probably do a MYW with park hopper option.

I almost forgot something very important! The LGMH! I stole them, I mean casually took them :rolleyes1 , from Home Depot a couple weeks ago. I took a ton! I wonder if I'll see any DISers...

I will leave you with that. Next up I'll post what will probably (hopefully) be my final itinerary. Thanks for reading! :cutie:

Great pics Shannon! I too think Crocs are hideous but I'd love to try a pair. I am also all about matching so I have no clue what color I would get. I hate black so that's out. I would love the pink/white Disney ones OR the white/pink ones. I am leaning twds. white b/c it MATCHES everything but then there is that rule about only wearing white shoes Mem. Day-Labor Day. So should I go for the pink? I need opinions from a fellow matchy-matchy Peep!!

I just got my Disney Visa a week ago and have been charging EVERYTHING for those Disney dollars. I transfer money into my savings acct. for every purchase so I can pay it right off. Anything for free Disney money!!! :rotfl:

Keep up the good report!! :wizard:

I am definitely a Croc convert...at least for Disney vacations. The mary janes were actually a little more comfy than the caymans but I think that was more of a sizing issue. Both were definitely wearable.

As for colors, I don't follow the white rule very much but I live in Florida and see a lot of white year round. Plus they might get dirty...even though they seem easy to clean. Not sure. I personally go for the more neutral colors because that is what I wear the most of - black or brown (or that army green). Sorry, guess I wasn't much help

I need to transfer my disney reward dollars to my card soon as well! And transfer some money so I can pay my credit card off. It's never been this high and I don't even know what exactly I've bought! :scared1:

I love your goodie bags for the kids, my DD's would love the HSM pin so I'm sure your niece will!

I've heard somewhere that you can put Crocs in the dishwasher so the white ones become white again!

I heard that Croc/dishwasher thing too...is that true? Do you put it in there with your dishes? :scared:

The goodie bags are not quite complete yet. We're getting them gift cards for WDW so that they can have "their own money" and not hound us every 5 seconds for stuff. Claire is getting really bad with that. She expects a gift everytime they walk into a store. And I also got some small notebooks at Target in the $1 section. Sure they are Dora and Diego and not Disney, but whatever  . And some more food treats I'm sure. That's how we keep them occupied and happy in the car - food and movies!

7 Days! I will be in WDW in 7 Days! :woohoo: :cool1:

4 days baby!

I think I have pretty much everything we need.

1. Snacks for in the room and to keep the kids quiet in the car.

2. DSIL is letting us take their car, a Honda Pilot. So much more comfy than mom's car plus they have a DVD player. :thumbsup2

3. I think I have everything I'm going to put in the goodie bags. I just have to frost the Mickey Cookies on Thursday and print out a travel journal for Claire from TheMouseForLess.

4. I still have to transfer my Disney $$$ to my rewards card. I actually have quite a few $$$ this time around.

5. And I have plenty of outfits which is unusual for me. But still good.

Our itinerary:
Friday June 8:
*check into POR around 12:30/1:00
*lunch at POR food court
*AK - dinner here probably Tusker House
*swim at resort before bed

Saturday June 9 - Mom's Birthday:
*breakfast at POR food court
*MK for some rides and Family Magic Tour 10-12
*more MK rides and lunch at Casey's
*swim/rest at POR
*Epcot for rides and Garden Grill Birthday Dinner

Sunday June 10:
*breakfast in the POR food court
*MK for more rides and fun
*MGM for High School Musical and late lunch at Sci-Fi
*POR for a swim and hanging out

Monday June 11:
*short swim in the a.m. and breakfast - maybe at Boatrights
*go home :sad1:

And these are our must do attractions:
MK - POC, Buzz, Tea Cups, TTA, Monsters Inc Laugh Factory, Splash if line is not too bad or FP

Epcot - Mexico, Soarin', Figment, Spaceship Earth (Claire loves this!), Energy (Owen is really into dinosaurs right now), The Seas

AK - FOLK, Safari, KRR (if we feel like getting wet), Nemo Musical, Dinoland

MGM - High School Musical Pep Rally, One Man's Dream (I want Claire and Owen to realize that Walt Disney was a real person :teacher: ), Great Movie Ride (cheesy but I like it), Honey I shrunk the kids playground (never done this)

Of course we might do other things but these are the attractions I really want us to get to.

Feel free to give me your thoughts! Thanks for reading! :cutie:

SHANNON, only 2 more days, right??!! (you know - we don't count today or the 8th ;) ) If I don't get a chance to come back here, have a great trip!

Can someone move me to the TR board? It's time for the big show. . .

Thanks! :goodvibes

So I just decided to check the weather for this weekend at Disney. I'm 3 hours south and it's been pretty miserable here today (rain rain rain).

Friday, Saturday and Sunday are all 40% chance of rain with scattered thunderstorms! Yuck. It won't stop us from going to the parks or anything but it really puts a damper on things () to have to mess with the ponchos all the time.

Maybe the weathermen will be wrong?

Crossing my fingers that the Weather man is wrong, or at least slightly wrong !!

Have a safe and wonderful time, can't wait to hear all about it when you return !!!
