I would first like to start by saying I am sorry I have taken so long to respond to everyone!!! It's been a bit busy around here and I'm a little frazzled!!! I am going to really try to buckle down and get my act together!
Hi Erin - Thanks for posting on my PTR! I rushed right over here and I'm all caught up already. I love your PTR - lots of details - super easy to read - and you have a fun writing style! Your family is adorable!
We have quite a few things in common...we're there at the same time, we both have a 13 year old and a 5 year old (mine will be 5 next month and mine are girls, yours are boys but STILL haha), my husband's favorite motto is "I'll sleep when I'm dead" or "sleep is over-rated", we're flying Air Tran for the 1st time, POR is our moderate of choice and I thought we were both 32 but I just realized I'm actually 33! Darn!
I can't wait to read more! I'm subscribing now and look forward to tagging along. Maybe we'll run into each other in December!
Welcome! Thanks for coming over! Thanks for the compliments, too!
We DO have quite a bit in common! How is 13 in the girl department?? 13 in the boy department is not as easy breezy as I thought it may be!!!

I'll have to tell Justin that I met someone whose husband shares his theory on sleep!! LOL That is a rare breed I think because it is one of my favorite things!!! I am expecting to fall in love with POR and have my fingers crossed for AirTran being a success!! I am not far behind you for 33...March!! How long have you guys been married?
It would be great to run into each other in December!
Hi - I'll be at WDW about a month after you, and though I haven't gotten all caught up on this thread, I love reading about your plans so far!
It looks like you and your family will have a wonderful time!
Hi! Welcome to the ride!!! I am hoping to get DH to warm up a bit more to Disney wth this trip...so far he's still complaining!! We'll see! January...we went last trip in February and it was really nice. You will be there during a faily slow time I think. That will be a bonus!
sounds great to me!! Gotta love being in the 10pm arrival boat!!!
My parents took a flight last year that got in at 10pm. They said DME was dead and they loved it except for the fact that they grouped together a ton of resorts. We were staying at AKL and they stopped at POP, all 3 All Stars, CSR, and then AKL. After a late flight the last thing you want to do is sit on a bus that long at night. Thankfully I got out of work early enough and picked them up at POP!!
Can't wait for more!!
Oh! I really hope we are the only ones arriving then!! LOL Can we request a private airport and DME bus?? LOL If it's busy, I can only hope that they stop at POR one of the firsts!!
I'm going to try to update tomorrow! If not, Tuesday!
How are the kids going to react getting up so early, especially with such a late arrival the night before? And another late night, early ADR the next day? I'd be afraid I'd have massively cranky kids.

You're braver than I am!!
I am beginning to think you may be the most sensible person responding here!! LOL We are all thinking we can go on forever like the Energizer bunny! I may have to trade my broken kids in for new models by the end of this trip!! LOL I just don't know what to do! Everything looked great to start...now that I see it here on the screen...don't know. I don't want to lose the Ohana dinner as we've never eaten there and it looks so good. But, the early breakfast ADR the next morning is Akershus. So, if I cancel it, I need to do it in enough time that they don't charge my card. I checked for different times for both and there's nothing!

I have to think about it a bit more and talk to DH and come to a common concensus! Thanks for the honest advice though!
Erin - everything looks great. I know you know, and I know it now after being reminded by our loving DISfamily, that we know our family best - and we won't know it until we're "in" it!
If the family says no, you're not going to enforce anything (at least I sure hope not...

)
It's true...I know them and I know that we ALL (aside from Justin) need a decent amount of sleep or it's not even safe to approach us! Watch out for that early AK breakfast!! LOL I really want those ressies but have to decide soon for Akershus since it's a cc guarantee! We'll see!
But, I would be the one to push them to the edge!! I know that is not the best parenting, but I look at it like it's Disney, not push ups and hard work outs or whatever!! LOL
I bet DME will be dead that time of night and check in will go super fast.
I think I would skip campfire and Bob(even though he is so funny ) and rest until your Ohanas ressies that night.
I really would think twice about doing an early morning adr after all of that. I am sure you and your husband will be fine. But I think your kids might be a tad cranky
But like others said, you know your family Best. Just judge how they are and if they seem really tired, I would skip early morning adr
I'm hoping you are right about DME and check in!
The one good thing about the campfire and Bob, there are no ressies and we can make the decisionspur of the moment.
The next day's breakfast is the big question!!!!
We got in around 10 in spring and our bus was more crowded than it was any other time I've taken it! A BUNCH of international people had just gotten in from who knows where, but that is where most people were from on our bus to Pop. It didn't take long to get on the bus or anything, there were just more people than I thought!
I am SO jealous of your first day! Your 2nd day plans look great as well. I'm like you though, my plans aren't set in stone until the actual day. I've already changed my ADR's like, 5 times!
I found you this picture over on the food porn thread....OMG it made me drool!! You're going to die when you taste this!

Oh! I hope there aren't a ton of people trying to get on the bus when we land!!! But, just get me there and I'll be fine!
Yeah...I actually really didn't do much plan changing up to this point. Added a few things here and there, but no HUGE changes. Didn't get rid of any ADR's. Now, I am thinking about all kids of changes and the available ADR's are few and far between!
Your plans sound great so far honey

We've never done Ohana for breakfast or dinner before but we've got them booked this time and i'm so excited

I hope have an amazing time at both of them! We havent been to POR but the photos i've seen here on the boards look beautiful and i'm sure the carriage ride will be wonderful
We must try and arrange to bump into each other on the 3rd as we'll be in MK that day too
The breakfast I know is great and I'm hoping to do the dinner and that be great also!!! POR seems gorgeous, so I am looking forward to that! The carriage ride is something I love anyway! DH and I had one for our wedding from the church to reception.
Will you be at MK all day on the 3rd? We will only be there early, but yeah...we could meet up if you will be there all day!
Hey Erin!!
As Jen has said, only you know your family best, and if you think they can do then they probably will be able to. Plus you're on Disney adrenaline!! And you're talking to the wrong person if you want me to say to scale it back. LOL I am just like you in that I try to squeeze in as much as I possibly can. The last time we were there, we were at check in and the guy at the desk said, "Wow you guys are really doing EVERYTHING!!" And we did, we were exhausted when we left but it was so great to be there and do all the things we wanted to do. And think of it this way, you and your little angels will sleep REALLY well at night!! I usually don't sleep weel when I'm away from home but man I hit that pillow every night and was done till morning. It was kind of nice to sleep so soundly because I was so exhausted at the end of a day!!
Hi!!! I am hoping the Disney adrenalne gets us through!! (At least for the first day and a half.) See, that's what I'm thinking...who knows what cards life will deal us?? We may never get back to Disney!

I want to get in as much as I can now!!! And, yeah...sleep at night!! We'll see. This is only the first day, the rest are a bit easier.
Erin- great first full day! very busy, but hey, it looks a lot like my schedules- going, going, going! just keep swimming.....
you can always play it by ear if you need to skip the campfire or anything else. I am like you- i seem to get a big rush of energy in WDW, i can get up earlier and be ready to go all day. We love O'hana too- it was my favorite meal that DH and I did on our last trip (and he loved it- mr. not disney!). We have it booked for our last night.
Can you believe we are at the under 2 month mark? it has really flown by. We've had this trip booked for 2 years, so i really can't believe it is almost here!!!!
I'm loving the Dory reference!!! That's great! Maybe if I walk behind the kids as I'm pushing them down Main St USA I will be whispering that in their ears!! LOL
I am thinking more and more that I will do a play by ear plan for the first two days. The others I think are easier. But, I didn't think these were that bad until I saw them on the screen!! Hopefully the energy level will be really high for the beginning of vacation! And, I have a feeling Ohana will be a real hit with my family!
I know...the under two month thing is too great!! Before we know it, it will be under 1 month too!!! I will be under 50 days as of Wednesday!!
I think oyur first full day is filled with fun and exciting things, I'm sure if somebody gets tired you will adjust your plans to accomodate. Even though your dinner is pretty late, it will be relaxing since you won't have thoughts in your head of what needs to be done next, a nice wind down from a busy day.
Thanks Ty! It is late, but we will still be in be by around midnight I think?? And, like you said, we will be sitting at dinner and not running around.
I think your plans look fantastic. You guys probably won't want to do much relaxing so the go go go of the first full day I think is perfect. You really want to schedule your down time for more in the middle of the trip anyways. That's what I always do. Plus, like you said, you're doing some relaxing things in the evening so I think that will help y'all make it to dinner. I hope you like Ohana. I've heard great things!!
Thanks! I don't think any of us will want to just sit at all really for the first day. am thinking that makes the most sense to fill with activity. And, I saved quite a bit of down time mid to end of trip. I am hoping we get it all in, but if we don't, I will deal with it...I GUESS!!!!! I heard all great things about Ohana...hope it lives up to the hype!!!
Wow, you really do have a busy first day! EMH straight through to the 955 Ohana ADR. You are a better woman then I am. I don't think I could hang that long, but you'll do what you gotta do to make the Ohana ADR. They are so hard to get right now.
I love your ADR's for Day 1. What a nice variety of things you plan to do. I hope you love POR. It is one of my favorite resorts and the boat from DTD is such a plus.
Can't wait to read about Day 2!
It does seem like a ton! I better bring the RedBull huh?!! I may sleep on the carriage and in my dinner plate! But, the Ohana dinner is the one thing I am most attached to!
I want to experience a lot! I think POR will become a new favorite! But, going to AKL for the end will be hard to top I think!! I am looking forward to that boat though!!!
Day two will be up tomorrow or Tuesday! Stay tuned!
