ITS COMING -Nov. 2014 Free Dining - waiting, watching, wishing & worrying thread

I'm really glad I joined this thread! It has been 7 years since I was there last and things have really changed. I feel like I am so out of the loop!!! The free dining is completely new to me and I'm trying to read and catch up.

Add me to the list of waiters. We are going Nov 5-11 and hoping for a room only discount. I went 2 years ago during the same time frame for 10 days and had the most wonderful trip. We attended the last Halloween party and the first Christmas party, and Food & Wine! This time we are doing Food & Wine and a Christmas party. We are locked into those days because my sister works at a school in NJ and that is the only time she can take off.

Last time I had a room only discount but ended up adding a few days to the front of the trip so we could get free dining for all 10 days and gave up the room discount.

We want to focus on the Food & Wine Festival this time so free dining is not important on this trip.

I am going in November also because Im from Jersey! LOL - haven't been to Disney in over 20 years and super excited about showing my 6 year old DD the experience! Still on the fence of where to stay CS or WL? But hope to decide SOON! :)

Jenn :yay:

We hope to go to WDW Nov 9 to 14 this year. We want to stay at AoA, in a LM standard suite. We plan on a dining plan anyway, so FD would be total bonus!

When does Disney decorate for Christmas?

This will be our DD's first trip - she will be 4. Can't wait to share the magic with her!

I'm here! Debating between October and November but really leaning towards November. Would LOVE FD! :)

Hello all, joining in on the waiting. We went last year the week before xmas and it was amazing and we were planning a return visit. Our last trip was 6 nights and we would like to add at least one or two more and that would push us into peak xmas crowds/prices. I have been crunching the numbers and I think for us the week before thansgiving may make more sence. The kids are out the whole week of thanksgiving so we will probably stay till monday of that week. Fingers crossed for free dining, but a good room discount wouldn't be frowned upon either.

We're going in November for the the Wine & Dine half marathon, probably Thurs Nov 6 through Mon Nov 10 but if there's free dining blackout dates that weekend we'd consider coming down Tues or Wed if it meant free dining! We came for the race this year and had so much fun, it was my first time seeing the Christmas decorations and I loved it!

I have never stayed at CS so that is where we are planning on staying this year. I've always liked the theming and atmosphere whenever I dined at the Pepper Market. WL and WLV have, IMO, the friendliest and most courteous staff. Always a pleasure when I've stayed there.

20 years! Wow, you are in for a treat!!!

I am joining the wait as well. Although I would love FD, I would take an kind of discount available. So much of our trip is up in the air right now but I have convinced DH to go. This will be our second trip as a family. We are hoping we can add my brother and his family and my sister and parents to the party as well. My brother is currently stationed overseas and we are eagerly awaiting news of his new orders so we can book this party.
Does anyone have experience with military tickets?

Has anyone gone the Saturday after Thanksgiving and through the next week? Wondering about potential discounts during that time. And would love to hear experiences with crowds at that time. We have only gone in September and love the low crowds but we want to see the Christmas decorations. Thanks!

Not sure about room only discounts, but the week of Thanksgiving and two full weeks after were blacked out for free dining last year.

We go for two weeks - starting Thanksgiving week and through the week after. The week after is a lot better than Thanksgiving week, as far as crowd. However, I felt it was pretty crowded last year compared to some of the past years! The decorations will all be up by that time, however, the past few years that week has been excluded from Free Dining. I believe the same for room only discount... I'm almost positive we paid full price for SS last year. Someone might have more accurate info. as far as the discounts go, but i know for sure there was no free dining the past two. We will be there this year again, maybe we'll see you there! Enjoy!

Thank you both!

Hi all! I have finally convinced hubby it's time for another WDW trip! (Happy dance). We like to go in November. Our last trip was Nov 2011. We arrived the Friday before Thanksgiving in time to qualify for free dining. Really really hopeful we can do so again!! Free dining makes it possible for us to stay onsite. Fingers crossed!! Maybe some pixie dust for all our Nov dates!
This year, i'm looking at Nov 21-29. (We can call it a birthday trip for me since I'll celebrate the big 4-0 that week)
I'm just now beginning my planning, so i haven't been active on here in a while. Anyone discussing that PIN's for that timeframe are "out there" yet?

Hubby is running the marathon so we are going November 7- 10 at Boardwalk villas and November 8-16 Coronado. Typically free dining starts that Monday so hoping it happens again :)

When I booked my trip the cm hinted that I should watch my disney visa for a discount that would be coming out soon:)

Haven't heard of anyone getting a PIN code for November yet....I am impatiently waiting for some kind of discount....lol

To be eligible for free dining do you have to buy hotel, And park tickets from Disney? Or can you have room only and buy park tickets seperate?

THATS awesome :coffee: Although I've learned "soon" is a relative term but it's good to know some kind of deal is due to come out.
