ITS COMING -Nov. 2014 Free Dining - waiting, watching, wishing & worrying thread

Haven't heard of anyone getting a PIN code for November yet....I am impatiently waiting for some kind of discount....lol

We got a pin code for this spring back in late November/ early December. I think is was good through April? I can't remember. But the Fall codes won't get mailed out probably until May/June. You could always call and ask a cast member if there is a pin code attached to your account.

Off topic but how hellish has this Winter been or what?! We caved last week and decided to book a flight to Fort Myers to visit family in April. It stretches our budget a tad but it won't jeopardize the November trip. We paid for most of the Disney trip anyway. I think after the promotion is applied there's only around $400 left. Oh well All I know is my MIL and FIL promised me that I could mow there lawn! lol I just need to do some yard work in the warm sun. I miss the smell of grass clippings!

You must purchase a room + ticket package. A minimum stay is required too.

I will also be joining the watching and waiting for free dining in November. This wil be our third trip and I don't know if we will be able to afford it without the free dining. It seems that the free dining for this month is usually not released until August. I'm not not sure if I should reserve a "room only" reservation and then just update when/if free dining becomes available. Any suggestions?

That is what we did. I went ahead and booked our room and tickets package so that in May I can book all the dining I want.
I was thinking of doing the room only discount if it comes out,but after looking at my dates I think we might be in on the free dining if it is the same as last year???

We are going regardless, but I would love to add free dining to our reservation!!
Last year those discounts came out at the end of July. We booked room only in November last year for a couple days at PFQ....

So we have a while to wait...

We had thought to wait until free dining was offered before we book at POR. Should we book now and call later to add free dining? It seems like if too many prebook, Disney won't offer free dining.

Did call Disney an hour ago to ask about free dining offers in the fall. The man wouldn't even give any hints of what's coming later this year.

That is exactly correct...

Did call Disney an hour ago to ask about free dining offers in the fall. The man wouldn't even give any hints of what's coming later this year.

Disney CM's don't often know about new promotions until the morning they release. For this reason, many people who are first to call in at 7am are told there are no promos....because the CM hadn't read the memo for the morning yet.

We are booking a trip end of Nov. It's so hard to try and figure out what deal is best. I have a conference and so will be staying at Yacht or Beach.

Can i have a little more info on this "pin" thing? I'm going to go back again and try and find out but sometimes I miss the obvious.

For you, the room discount may be better than the free dining in you are planning to stay in a deluxe resort. You will have to do the math and figure it out. It would depend on how large your party is. Sometimes, the discount may be 30% off and this may be more of a savings than the free dining (free dining can only be applied to a non-discounted room rate).
Now... The pin code is a special discount that is sent out to select individuals that allows them to take advantage of special room, tickets, packages, or dining discounts. Supposedly, these pin codes are sent out randomly via email or traditional mail. My sister was lucky enough to get one once. Sometimes, these same deals will be released to the public, but at a later date. No one really knows how to get one of these coveted pin codes, but there are many theories out there. Some people believe that your chances are increased if you order a disney planning guide DVD,order free customized disney maps, register on disney website and start to an a trip (but don't actually book), or book a reservation and them cancel. Who really knows?! But.. It never hurts to call disney and see if you have a pin code attached to your name,because I have heard that sometimes People have a code and don't even know it.

This is my problem too. I'm not sure if I would wait to book our trip in November. This is the first time I have tried to get a free dining deal. We have always used the percentage off discount or rented DVC points. I was planning to book our trip this week, but now I am thinking I should wait to see if the free dining discount comes out!
When does the discount usually get announced? Also, is it really hard to get a room using free dining?

Free dining for this time period is usually announced the end of July or beginning of August. Seems like an eternity...doesn't it?

I actually hopped on the expedia UK deal a couple weeks ago. If free dining comes out I will book that reservation and cancel the expedia deal. If it doesn't come out for my dates I will have saved around $450 on the hotel. If I couple that with the $250 I can save by using the YES program its not too bad. I'm still hoping for free dining, but I hafta save where I can and hope for something better down the road.

Stayed at AOA in November 2012 and received free Disney dining then which was awesome!! Just booked our family vacation for November 9-15, 2014 and we too are waiting, watching, wishing & worrying about free Disney dining this time around for us. Glad to see we aren't the only ones... hope we all are able to get it this year! Now for the waiting game...

Book your trip! Just be flexible of dates. When free dining is announced add to your package. If your dates are off move them a bit.

I agree dining package best deal for our family always. We book a great diner every night, typically character. Snack late morning fast service lunch and refill cup. I take a few ziplocs and pack fruit or leftovers for breakfast next morning. When you look at menu prices well worth it.

Por is a wonderful resort. We prefer riverside for its more laid back. Hope FD in Nov. don't spend too much time trying to figure out pins. Not sure of the system. My dh does all the booking each year and I am the one who has gotten the pins both times. Might be disboard or I also answer surveys in the park. You are just joyful when you get one!

That is what I do. I check on Sundays, when it is not as busy, and I am sitting in my office. Last time we went, November 2012, we got a pin code around the beginning of April, as we applied in mid April based on my post history.
