Sounds like a great holiday you've got planned. Staying at the GF??? I can only (disney) DREAM!

It was a dream for us. DH and I have always wanted to stay there. We are so excited. With a little planning and a lot of saving, we are finally going to do it. Since we are going on the Dream too (our first cruise ever), it really is a dream for us.

We're going on the Dream the week before. I'll try not to wreck it :teeth:

PIO...Love all the plants in your Garden. It isn't as large as ours but it is so perfectly formed. :goodvibes:
We never had a herb garden or many veggies...but my gran tended to and loved our garden. It is sadly not in a very good state any more since she was lost to Dementia. There's two ways to go...tending in her honour...and finding it too hard to deal with.
We then lost many trees to rot, oversized and dangerous (we had a HUGE what turned out to be a tea tree.)
I do have a Frangipani that grows VERY well though :)
And Bird of Paridise...

Wish I had your passion and dedication to your garden and cooking
It's wonderful

And knitting....and playing the piano.....and playing the guitar.......and travel.....and reading......and studying.....and crossword puzzles......

I used to have heaps of hobbies....before the dis!

How long are you away for in December?

42 days...

I used to too. But I just have completely lacked the motivation since my uni life went to pot...
I'm not explaining that...but that's where things fell apart....

ANYWAY...I'm trying to get the mojo back...

I like the LOT of SAVING bit. :thumbsup2

It's true. We are staying in the cheapest room for 7 nights. It costs $465 on the weekdays and $480 on the weekends plus tax.

I almost panicked. DH is in the hotel business, so we only stay at nice places when we get a discount. Full price is scary. :scared1:

Have fun! I know we will. :wizard:

Does this mean you are going on vacation for 42 days? Wow! My longest vacation ever was 11 days. DH is afraid to leave work for a week and a half. He was not pleased when I told him he had to take more than a week off. 42 days. Only in my dreams!!!

Hopefully, you get your mojo back before vacation. Here's hoping!

I only go on holiday when I can get discounts! :lmao:

Speaking of holidays, Queenie....

Hong Kong. I'm thinking of doing 2 days at HKDL and then spending another 5 - 7 days in Kowloon. Where would you recommend staying? And what sights did you see?

We did get free dining (which we upgraded to deluxe). It saved us a whopping $86 from our pin code. The pin only hit 3 of our 7 days or we would have saved more. DH could not take a vacation around the time where we could get all 7 days. His hotel celebrates the one year grand opening on 12-15-11. He needs to be there for it.

That's a shame it didn't work out.

Sorry I'm a bit distracted...
Watching "Mrs Carey's Concert"

I lived a life like that a bit :rolleyes1

Not WDW...DB and DD are going a bit early and going to WDW. But we get there the night before the cruise. They will however buy me gingerbread shingles and Sunshine seasons Strawberry Shortcake :lovestruc

I stayed in Tsim Sha Tsei (I think that's how you spell it. I felt it a good base as it is a nice place to be at night. You can spend the rest of the time elsewhere. But travelling alone I felt safe here.

I did do a TR.... :snooty:

Where I stayed isn't likely to have a room for 3??? Although there was space. So do ask. It was the Marco Polo. Not cheap. But lovely with a LOVELY pool. :thumbsup2

Aussies take longer holidays. It takes at least 12 hours to get to the US so we are gonna make the most of it.

Disney cruise to get nice and fat before 3 weeks skiing.
Then fly to (name escapes me...most embarrasing but I'm near tears at the performance by this 16yo :flower3: ) near Fallingwater - as designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
Then road trip to NYC
Then home :upsidedow

I know you did a TR. I was hoping that maybe you stayed in Kowloon on another trip and we're thinking of staying at one of the Disney hotels for 2 or 3 nights. Get Disney out of the way and then base ourselves in Kowloon.

None of the HK hotels are cheap.

I'll watch the link shortly...but Fallingwater....I think I've seen pictures of it. Its got a waterfall or a water feature like that to one side of the house?? Glass and steel??

Nice violin playing. Did it go straight to DVD? I normally notice these sorts of movies if they hit the cinemas.

I'd never been to Hong Kong before. I'd never been to Asia at all other than Tokyo before....
Our Europe trips had always gone via the USA before ;)

We're flying to Pittsburgh then driving down to near Fallingwater and visiting it as well as Kentuk Knob
