It's ALL about the FOOD! An October 2012 PTR! - Trip Report Started.

:cool1: I'll join in! Can you believe it??

I can't!! I started this PTR the end of November so the trip was 10.5 months away.. now its 3!!! I've been planning this for far longer than I had the trip report so it really feels close!!

WOW! This is an incredible PTR!
Sorry to hear about your mom... cancer is just everywhere these days... My uncle and my grandmother had it too.
I hope she gets better!

Cannot wait for more updates!

The scale finally went down 2 pounds!! I can't do Atkins... I'm just trying to watch my calories and get some exercise... I actually missed 3 days in a row of walking :( 2 were because it was the weekend and I just didn't feel like it and the third was because I ended up staying 4 extra hours at work and needed to get hom for sleep before my next shift!!

There actually is Losing weight threads... If you look for the W.I.S.H threads you can find some. I think I am going to join the biggest loser challenge! We also have a FB group for our October DIS'ers trying to lose weight... Send me a PM if you are on FB and want to join and I can add you (I think!!)

Congrats on the scale moving!!! I decided to ditch Atkins too. I gave it a month and it was frustrating me. I switched to calorie counting, that has always worked for me in the past. I just thought I'd lose weight faster/easier on Atkins. Guess not. :P

Thanks for pointing me to the WISH board! I will check it out!

I have been so un-motivated with exercising because I wasn't seeing the scale move. It is so frustrating! Trying to get myself fired up to start up again with some dedication!

As far as your trip- I can NOT wait to hear about all of your dining experiences!

Woo Hoo for 2lbs & double digits!!!! :cool1: We're still 5mths out, which seems like a long time but since I'm dealing with financial woes, it feels like it's coming too quickly!!! :(

All the planning will pay off with a memorable trip!!! :woohoo:

I'm actually really enjoying my walks. I go every morning right after work as I know if I came home first I definitely wouldn't do it. I've been trying different trails and finding ones that aren't boring! Trying to mix it up a little. Today will be a hike... I discovered the place last week and went twice. I wanted to go again on Sunday but there wasn't any free parking! (And I am not paying $8 just to park so I can go for a hike!) So I will have to do my hikes on weekdays and regular walks on the weekends and Mondays as the park with the hiking trails is closed on Mondays. Also closed on holidays so the hikes this week will just be today, Thursday and Friday!

How did you lose the 50lbs? I can't even picture you with that much extra weight! The only thing I drink regularly is water. I have soda that came with me when we moved in February and it just sits in the fridge or in the case. It is all diet though so no calories to start with. I do have an occasional "drink" and I know those can have quite a few calories but it is maybe one a week if that.

Today is my day off this week. I kept by staying up all night schedule though so will be going for my walk shortly and then getting something to eat and then to sleep I go! I work the next 3 nights so nothing special for July 4th. My hubby is having a big party in CO. I wish I could be there but not this year. :guilty:
I love to walk and hike!! Ben doesn't at all, so when we exercise together we usually have to go play tennis! (that's fun too though!)I hope you are still enjoying your walks!

I just watched my calories like a hawk and exercised a lot! It was hard, but it was completely worth it! It's funny. Everyone tells me that they couldn't picture me heavier if they didn't see me before! When I was heavier I always thought I could never picture myself thin! That was an adjustment to see myself that way!

I HATE water with a passion! hahaha I'm trying to like it more now, but I would love to drink tea and diet coke all the time...probably not too healthy! haha:rotfl:

I'm sorry you weren't able to party with your hubby on the 4th! :( Ben and I hung out with my mom, and I got crazy sunburned! haha We had fun though!

I'm getting more and more excited for the trip! I hope you are, too! :)

Thanks for the compliments on my PTR... It's had a lot of evolution from the very beginning!

My mom is doing ok. She developed some pretty bad lymphedema (which she only had a 5% chance of getting!) so her left arm is pretty swollen. She has finished her chemo and is refusing to do the radiation. She also developed neuropathy in her hands and feet and lost all her taste from the chemo and she said that is slowly getting better. She said with so many side effects of the chemo that she doesn't want to risk the radiation making things even worse.

More updates will come flying in once we get the official F&W info!! I can't wait.. Where is it!! I want it now!! :rotfl2:

The scale actually moved another 2 lbs!! So 4 lbs in a week!! I think the hiking really helps.. I basically burn 1000 calories doing it and I don't eat those calories back 9except on a splurge day!) I've also been doing a little splurging. I eat one bad for me high fat meal a week. (Last week it was a philly cheesesteak, this week a trip through the BK Drive through). I really enjoyed my cheesesteak but the BK DT was :crazy2: I won't be doing that again for awhile!

I have been so un-motivated with exercising because I wasn't seeing the scale move. It is so frustrating! Trying to get myself fired up to start up again with some dedication!

As far as your trip- I can NOT wait to hear about all of your dining experiences!

I am using myfitnesspal and walking and the scale has finally moved 4 lbs. Since April I have lost 18lbs total. I have 8 more to go before August 1... Will I reach it?!? I think it's gonna require a whole lot of hiking! :rotfl:

I can't wait to experience our dining choices! I keep buying the Disney Gift Cards to pay for it!!

Laurie I am sorry to hear of all your IRS issues! I really hope you hear something positive soon! It's hard to plan on something and then the ball gets dropped somewhere!

I'm getting more and more excited for the trip! I hope you are, too! :)

Definitely excited! 3 months from now we will hopefully be enjoying the Swolphin F&W classic!!

I was so tired last night that I brought a soda with me to work and I couldn't even bring myself to drink it. I did have a green tea for some caffeine though!!

Do you find you have to continue to watch your calories now that you've lost the weight or do you just know to make healthier choices? I have the tendency to lose weight and then I stop exercising and it all comes back...

Congrats on 4 lbs lost this week! That's awesome!

I saw your comments on Jabeads dining thread about Cafe Orleans. I LOVE that place as well.

Have a great weekend!

The Swan and Dolphin has updated their web page to include the food offerings! It looks to be much the same as previous years except for a Prime Rib from Shulu's instead of a Filet.

In comparing what will be offered on both Friday & Saturday I think we will go with the Friday event and not book the Saturday. I would like to be able to have the Pork Belly offered on Saturday but there is an additional seafood dish on Saturday my hubby would not be able to have and one less dish he could have! If we have a great time on Friday and tickets are still available we could always return if we desire!

Here is the link to the menu if anyone is interested...

I checked out their website and it looks fabulous! Too bad I'm not going during any F&W events! :sad2:

Looks like you will have a great time.

The Food & Wine classic is the whole reason I picked the starting dates for our trip! I was hoping since it was the 3rd one there would be more food options but looks about the same! Since I think we will only go one day I have another night open for another reservation!! :rotfl:

So there may be another kink in my plans!! On the Disney Parks Blog it was posted in the comments that the Healthy Living Dinner would be on October 19th! :scared1: If that is true I am afraid that there will not be a 3D Dessert Party that night as I think they are held in the same place?!?? I'm hoping I'm wrong but if I'm not than I will have to do some rearranging!! The only other Friday we are there is the 12th... which 2 posts before I had stated we would use for the Food & Wine Classic and it would NOT be a park day. If its our only option for the dessert party it will BECOME a park day and we will do the Dessert Party that night and the Food & Wine Classic on Saturday... Then Friday the 19th will become a rest day...

Ugh!! I wish Disney would just release all the F&W info already!!!

I hear ya! For one I'm just dying to know the info about the booths. But it's very frustrating to have to change around your schedule once you thought everything was already set.

So, we were all set with our plans, and weren't planning on doing any of the F&W "events", but yesterday I started reading all about Party for the Senses, and now I think we might have to do that one! :rotfl: But the only downside (other than the cost!) is that it would require us to switch around our schedule and do Epcot on Saturday instead of Sunday (which I was trying to avoid), and then that will throw a wrench in some of our ADRs as well. Ugh. Well, we'll see!

Will you have Park Hoppers? I've heard the best day for Epcot is actually Monday during F&W festival.

Me, too! Not because of the events, though. I want to know what food vendors there will be around the WS!

For me the least of my concerns is the food booths. They are available throughout the festival and don't require extra planning!! I would like to know what the food items are but really not as pressing!

No, we never get park hoppers. But our first EPCOT day will be on a Wednesday, so hopefully that won't be too awful. Fingers crossed!

Wednesday should be okay! :thumbsup2 I can't imagine going during F&W and not having hoppers. It just seems like we will be spending a lot of partial days there!

Me three! What is the hold up??

I dunno! You would think they would have all this ironed out months ago!!

Just happened :rolleyes1 to be looking a the Southwest site at the right time today and noticed my return flight from Orlando the price was down!! So it was only $12 but it's a $12 credit I can use to go see my hubby in December!! The amazing part is it must have been the only seat at that price because as soon as I rebooked it the fare went to $5 above my original price! Yah Me!! :cool1:
