It's ALL about the FOOD! An October 2012 PTR! - Trip Report Started.

It's so frustrating when you're eating better and exercising to NOT see any results on the scale. Makes it hard to want to keep going (at least that's how I feel)... but you're doing great! Just think of the healthy habits you're getting into, and how prepared you'll be for all the walking at WDW! :thumbsup2

Have you been able to notice any change in your clothes yet? That's one thing I'm trying to focus on, rather than the number on the scale. I'm down a size in both tops and pants, so I know the weight is coming off even if the scale isn't going down as fast or much as I want it to.

I need to do another "Dieting for Disney" update on my PTR!

Nope, no difference in the clothes... I tend to be in the same size even when I was at my low weight I was the same size. Granted at the start they were extremely tight and the end loose but still the same size! It doesn't help in trying to tell that way if I am doing better as most of my scrubs are elastic and then my sweats are elastic so I am rarely in "Real" clothes!

Hey girl!!

That's so awesome you are starting exercising! It's so hard to get in the routine of it, especially when you aren't seeing results!!

I lost 50 lbs my senior year of college, and I know it can be very frustrating!
Hang in there! The weight loss will come, and it will all be worth it! :goodvibes

The one thing that really helped me cut calories was not "drinking" my calories--it's crazy how drinks can rack up so many calories!

I hope you have a very happy 4th :)

I'm actually really enjoying my walks. :banana: I go every morning right after work as I know if I came home first I definitely wouldn't do it. I've been trying different trails and finding ones that aren't boring! Trying to mix it up a little. Today will be a hike... I discovered the place last week and went twice. I wanted to go again on Sunday but there wasn't any free parking! (And I am not paying $8 just to park so I can go for a hike!) So I will have to do my hikes on weekdays and regular walks on the weekends and Mondays as the park with the hiking trails is closed on Mondays. Also closed on holidays so the hikes this week will just be today, Thursday and Friday!

How did you lose the 50lbs? I can't even picture you with that much extra weight! The only thing I drink regularly is water. I have soda that came with me when we moved in February and it just sits in the fridge or in the case. It is all diet though so no calories to start with. I do have an occasional "drink" and I know those can have quite a few calories but it is maybe one a week if that.

Today is my day off this week. I kept by staying up all night schedule though so will be going for my walk shortly and then getting something to eat and then to sleep I go! I work the next 3 nights so nothing special for July 4th. My hubby is having a big party in CO. I wish I could be there but not this year. :guilty:

That's awesome that you've been exercising and enjoying it! Wonderful! I've also been trying to take daily walks, it's been doable during my lunch at work, but I need to be better about doing it while home too!

That's great you just drink water,too. Soda can be such a killer. It's all I drink. Besides wine, of course! :laughing: (after Aria goes to bed LOL)

I wish I could walk for exercise at work. I do TONS of regular walking there. Unfortunately my break falls around 2am most days so not the best time to go enjoy the outdoors! Plus I only get 30-45 minutes so by the time I change shoes and what not I am due to be back almost!

I had cut out soda years ago when I did Weight Watchers and only started drinking it occasionally when I am dead tired at work. Since I've been sleeping ok I haven't needed it though.

You have the advantage of breastfeeding right now to help you burn calories! I bet if you cut the soda you would lose any weight you are trying to lose (if any?!?!?) right away!!

99 Days till we leave for WDW!!

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1: :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana: :dance3::dance3::dance3: :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

Unfortunately we won't be checking in till probably 1-2am!! :confused3 So 100 days till we are actually THERE!!

LOL My response was NOT how I intended it. I was reading yours and thinking "If I cut out soda, what?!" I NEVER drink soda. What I meant to say is all I drink is WATER! LOL. And wine occasionally :lmao: (I hate soda! Yuck!)

Oops!

Yea BFing is helping I guess, but I still have a post baby belly...doesn't seem like that is going anywhere!!

And also, I'm an engineer so dress very casually w/ sneakers or flip flops or whatever I want. So thankfully I'm able to walk during lunch. But at 2AM I could see where that wouldn't be an option for ya! Ugh!

Hooray! You broke the triple digit mark!!! Checking in and seeing how things are going with your trip planning and all.

I am trying to lose 10 lbs before our trip because like you, I want to chow my way around WDW!! ;) I found the WISH (we're inspired to stay healthy) section of the Dis board that has some encouraging threads. I didn't "fit" in with most since I'm not an athlete by any means and I'm harder on myself than anyone about the guilt of eating a whole bag of Oreos so I am just doing my own challenge and journaling it. Anyhoo.... I wish you all the best and want to encourage you to keep up the good work!! :goodvibes

Ugh isn't dieting and not seeing results so frustrating? :( Don't worry, just keep doing what you're doing and it will start coming off eventually! I wanted to lose 50 pounds by November, and now, I only have 18 weeks left til my trip, so clearly 50 pounds isn't happening, so I'm making a goal to lose 40. I HAVE to lose 40 pounds by my trip or I don't even want to go!

It does seem like 1200 calories is low if you are exercising, maybe try just adding an extra 100 just to see what happens? I know you said it has worked for you before, but sometimes the same things don't work when you try it again. Weight watchers has always been my thing, it's always worked for me, so when it doesn't, I have to make adjustments. Usually when I do WW, I can lose weight the first few weeks without exercising, then it just stops, and I know I have to add exercise. I'm just not one of those people who can just diet, I have to do both, it's so annoying! :rotfl: I wish I could cut soda completely out of my diet. I hate diet soda so when I am dieting, I try not to drink it at all, but sometimes, I really need some Coke, especially if I have a headache or something!

I'm going to restart WW this week, I'll let you know what happens! :thumbsup2

And yay for double digits! :jumping1: Seems like everyone is hitting double digits lately and I still have a month to go!

Dance party, woohoo!

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

:dance3::dance3::dance3:

party:party:party:

Yay for double digits! I'll hit that on Saturday!

98 days for you!!! So exciting since I think it was over 200 when I first started planning!! (In my head I've been planning for years lol!!)

The ONLY time I have soda is if I am DEAD tired and have to go work the nightshift and/or I have a migraine that nothing else has gotten rid of. Diet Dr. Pepper is my friend in that scenario! Good for you on not drinking any either!!

I'm sure your belly will go away in time! I don't have the excuse of having had a baby! I'm just plain ole overweight. In good news I am proportionately overweight (I feel) so at least I don't just have one problem area I have a whole body problem area!

I'd love to be able to walk at work and I do a LOT of moving at work but nothing that could be counted as exercise.

Hooray! You broke the triple digit mark!!! Checking in and seeing how things are going with your trip planning and all.

Not much changing with the trip planning till we get the F&W event info!

A year and a half ago when I was doing good with my weight loss (just to put it back on) I was following one of the biggest loser challenges on the WISH board and that really helped. Then I fell off the bandwagon and stopped participating in the group. I was just over there yesterday and was going to participate but didn't pop in yet!

Well if you would join us in october you would have double digits too! :goodvibes I'm just teasing! You are going when I would LOVE to go! I so would like to see some holiday decorations!!

Losing weight can be so difficult and aggravating. I'm hoping that like you said if I just keep doing what I am doing that the weight will come off. I did take the weekend off from exercising... just because where I like to hike is so crowded on the weekends (and you have to pay for parking) and the other place is a drive when I am not working so I didn't want to do that either lol!

I had originally wanted to lose 50lbs by my trip. Now I am trying for 30lbs but if it doesn't start dropping it aint gonna happen!! Still hoping for 10lbs before I go see my hubby August 1 but....

Good luck with weight watchers. I did WW once when I was in my early 20's and it worked well. I'm trying to do this without paying anything though as money is tight with the extravagant WDW trip I have planned!

I've been reading along and just wanted to say congrats on walking everyday! That is awesome!! Hopefully your body is just adjusting to exercise.

I too am trying to lose weight before Disney (and for overall health reasons). I started Atkins last month. My DH can drop major weight fast on it and he did it last year and then went off but didnt gain everything back but now wants to lose what he gained and more so I thought I'd join him. Its easier than I thought BUT I am not losing. I lost 5 lbs my first week I was sooo happy but since then I've lost and gained the same 2 lbs over and over. I just started exercising this weekend so hopefully that helps (they tell you not to exercise the first few weeks as your body adjusts). Is there a losing weight for Disney thread somewhere? lol

Hi there! I'm a little late to the party...but I'm jumping in on your PTR! It caught my eye for a few reasons: you're going around the same dates as the trip we're just starting to plan, and it sounds like you guys are foodies like we are! I've converted my husband into a Disney fan, so there's hope for you too ;) But I'm glad it sounds like he will make the most of the experience.

I haven't read most of your posts yet, but I DID see that you're going to V&A's! We ate there (in the regular dining room) for the first time last year, and it was such an amazing experience.

Okay, I'll post again when I've caught up some more. Talk to you soon!

Yay for double digits!!!!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Thanks!! It's exciting!! 3 months!!

Double Digit dance!!

The scale finally went down 2 pounds!! I can't do Atkins... I'm just trying to watch my calories and get some exercise... I actually missed 3 days in a row of walking :( 2 were because it was the weekend and I just didn't feel like it and the third was because I ended up staying 4 extra hours at work and needed to get hom for sleep before my next shift!!

There actually is Losing weight threads... If you look for the W.I.S.H threads you can find some. I think I am going to join the biggest loser challenge! We also have a FB group for our October DIS'ers trying to lose weight... Send me a PM if you are on FB and want to join and I can add you (I think!!)

REALLY looking forward to V&A's... not so much the price tag but definitely the experience!!!
