It's a World of Laughter a World of Tears A World of Hope & a World of Fears New 2/18

Oh my gosh, TWO! That's so awesome. YAY for finally receiving your Magical Express stuff, what a relief. Caitlin, I'll definitely follow you on twitter!

Thanks! We are getting really excited :yay:
It was a relief!
Caitlin says "thank you"

Oops! I forgot that is a regional kind of thing. A "paczki" (pronounced poonch-key) is a fried piece of dough which may have any variety of fruit filling. Think a doughnut but with at least triple the calories. They are popular in the Polish community as a Fat Tuesday treat. In the Detroit area there is a town called Hamtramack that is traditionally a Polish community. Their tradition has become so popular with Detroiters that we call Fat Tuesday "Paczki Day". I must admit though, as tempting as they look I refrained from having one this year :)

Thanks! I hope to get a good nights sleep these last two nights :)

That's pretty cool, well all except for the TRIPLE the calories part! :rotfl: I love learning about regional foods. It looks pretty yummy!

Just stumbled across the Trip Report - I had no idea you guys started it already!
The trip looks great - how tempted were you guys to extend one more day so you can do 24 hours in the parks?
That sounds like so much fun!

As for the meals, some great choices.
Although we had HORRIBLE experiences at Via Napoli and Brown Derby and vow never to go back (both food and service).
I wish you guys a much more pleasant experiences.

However, I love Caitlin's drinks of the day idea!
Don't forget to swing by the Poly and get a lapu lapu at the Tamu Lounge!

If our airfare hadn't been booked we certainly would have added a day. It's probably better this way though as I'm too old to try and stay up 24 hours

We debated Via Napoli because I remember you having a bad experience there. All the handsome young waiters won out tho :rotfl:

We went to the Brown Derby in August and loved it so hopefully we'll have another good experience.

She does want to try a Lapu Lapu but her dad warned her not to as he thinks it would be too strong for her and I can't carry her back to Pop

Thanks for joining us! :goodvibes

Hi! :flower3:
Does everyone know what tomorrow is?????
We're going to DISNEYWORLD :cool1::cool1::yay::woohoo::yay:

We are now less than 24 hours from our departure and I just printed our boardng passes and paid for our checked bag :cheer2:

I had previously paid to select our seats on our flight there, and lo and behold there are many empty seats so I could have saved the money

But when I looked at our flight home, there were no seats together  I didn't like the idea of sitting apart so I had to book the exit row seats. Yep, me being too cheap to pay the $12 to select our seats home ended up costing me $40 :rolleyes1 But no worries because TOMORROW WE'RE GOING TO DISNEYWORLD :cool1: ( I know I said that already but it doesn't get old )

Some Random Thoughts.....

I've been running like crazy today trying to get all those last minute things done and I made Dale a pot of chili so he has something he can easily reheat while we're gone :)

The weather forecasts look good. The temps aren't as hot as they were predicting but it's going to be in the 20's here in Michigan so 72 sounds like heaven

I don't think I mentioned before but we joined a Photopass Share on Facebook so we'll be trying to get lots of photopass pics taken. I miss when the Dis used to allow the Photopass Share threads. Our last few trips though we've done shares off Facebook and they've been real positive experiences. In fact many of the people on the thread are from the Dis :)

I think that's about all I have to report. I just got a text from Caitlin and she is about to take her last midterm and then she'll officially be on Spring Break :dance3:

Have A Great Trip :)

Yeah, 72 degrees sounds AMAZING right now! and for the most part chicago weather hasn't even been that bad so clearly all of this warmer weather up here has made my perception of what actually is cold weather a little faulty.

I saw your post about packzi day in detroit. I must confess that I have never had a packzi (or packzi which ever is more grammatically correct) before! This is really bad considering chicago supposibly has the most polish people outside of warsaw. needless to say packzi day is a big deal in the chicago area as well. Our local bakery has this big festival for packzi day every year and they start advertising it in january. of course, anything that is basically fried dough with filling is worth celebrating right?

yay for caitlin almost being on spring break! Your breaks are really early! in illinois our breaks aren't for a couple of weeks (or three weeks depending on the school). When do your schools start summer? I know in illinois colleges usually get out around the first, second or third week in may.

I know exactly what you mean! This winter has been so mild and it's been great :thumbsup2

When I googled paczki it listed them as being popular in Detroit and Chicago :) Next year you must try one. Just eat a bite or half of one just to say you have :)

She started school the week before Labor Day and got done around the 18th of December. They started back up the 4th of Jan and get done sometime in late April.

I hope you both have a wonderful time. We had mid 70's weather in December and it was SO lovely. I can't even tell you how wonderful it was not to be hot, sweaty, and overheated.

Have tons of fun and take tons of pictures!!!!!!! :goodvibes

Thank you :)

The last 2 years we went in May and August. Both Mays were record breaking heat weeks and well everyone knows how hot and humid August is :rolleyes1 So 70-80 sounds WONDERFUL :goodvibes

Caitlin take lots of pictures?

You guys are going to have an AMAZING time! I just wish I had someone who I could share trips with that loves Disney as much as I do! My parents honestly cannot stand it anymore :( Although on the upside they said that my graduation present is going to be a trip to Disney--whatever park I want! I'm already planning ;) I'm thinking I may just do a DW/DL split trip! I am officially on spring break as well, and I am so thankful! I still have a few small assignments that I have to finish up, but other than that I'm done! Can't wait for all of the pictures!

I'm sorry your parents don't share your love of the parks. It's so much more fun to go with people who "get it". It is wonderful that they are going to take you on a graduation trip! DW & DL sounds amazing :thumbsup2

Enjoy your break :goodvibes

I'm sure pictures will start popping up on Facebook tomorrow

The worst part of the vacation? WAITING!

We will be heading to the airport at 9:30 and our flight is at 11. I will be entertaining myself by watching one of my favorite Disney movies Lady & the Tramp!

We have had a busy morning, Mom did all the last minute packing while I headed to the gym one last time :thumbsup2:laughing:

I just wanted to thank you all for following along with us and I will be updating on Twitter and Facebook and I will try to post on here while we are staying at POR.

I hope you all have a magical week my friends!
