:cutie: Can anyone give me some information about the "Its a Small World" Dolls they sell at the Art of Disney Store in Downtown Disney? I just found out I am having a little girl and want to do an IASW Themed Nursery! Are the dolls Madame Alexander? If not, who makes them? How much are they? What countries do they have represented?:cutie:
Thanks!

My husband is Dutch on all 4 sides, so he wanted us to buy the Dutch boy and girl. They didn't have both at Art of Disney so I ordered them after our return. I googled the name and bought them from some company in California. They are ceramic and I believe cost around $100 each...maybe a little less.

That is such a good idea! I did not know that Small World dolls existed. Maybe you could call WDW merch and ask them. Sorry I can't help.

This is my BF's worst nightmare...I absolutely LOVE Its a Small World and he humors me by riding it over and over again. And now I find out there are dolls available? I always point out the lonely single Filipino doll (they should at least give her a boyfriend)--so I doubt they would sell her at DTD. But perhaps I can order her? I'm heading down in November, so now its my new mission! Thanks for the info!

I'm not familiar with the dolls you're speaking of, but I wonder if it could be the Brass Key dolls. Amazon lists the following on its site:

Africa
India
Egypt
Thailand
Ireland
Spain

They're included with other Brass Key dolls on this page:
http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&rh=n:166161011,p_4:Brass Key&page=1

Brass Key has a site that lists all the IASW dolls that it's released, but I don't know if they're all currently available:

Hope this helps!

thanks Brian! Its a great list of the dolls available...and yup, it looks like my lone Filipina Small World Doll will just have to stay that way...sadness...I'll just wave to her next time I'm there.

For less money, there are also holiday ornaments of the SW dolls for sale at the Christmas shop in DTD. I think they were made by Lenox. They make/made a whole series of doll ornaments, including one of the face clock.

I got the face clock ornament (also comes with a IASW logo ornament) at DTD for $29. Was sorely tempted by the hippo ornament though.

me too :) for some reason those dolls have alway scared me, maybe it is side effects of seeing Chucky as a child. I think the dolls are pretty though, they just scare me when they move, lol.

Another take on this.....my MIL is a muralist, and painted the facade from the Disneyland version of Its a Small World on our girls room. We then added small shevles to the sides of the room, and everytime a friend, coworker or someone goes on a trip somewhere around the country or world we ask them to pick up dolls for us. We added the fans from Japan in their room recently with their names written in Japanese on them. Its been fun and our kids have learned all the continents and where a lot of the countries are, just from the themed room. The mural is done in light pinks, lavender, white, pale blue, and silver accents. Tinker bell swirls on their ceiling, and has pixie dust everywhere.:)

I saw her too, she looked too lonely...I was wondering who to contact at Disney with pictures of other Filipino costumes for dolls so they can give her some friends!

What an AMAZING idea!!:lovestruc You should post some pics!!

I have all of the Brass key dolls-except France and Tahiti. They're so cute and cost about $15 each.

Do you have a Russian doll? I would love one for my DD but I'm not even sure they make them.

I din't think that a Russian doll was produced. For some reason, Brass Key didn't make dolls from all of the Small World countries.

The ideas of an IASW themed bedroom terrifies me. I don't think I would ever sleep. I have a bit of a phobia...:scared:

I might post pictures when I get back. I see we will be there the same time as your family. We had water main break to our house yesterday and flood our neighbors front yard, which is professionally done, and then we had to repair it all.:scared1: When it rains it pours! Glad it didnt happen when we were gone. However, our neighbors house was sold and yesterday was the final inspection. The buyers never showed, neither did the inspector...Now we are worried they are backing out...:confused3 :sad2:
