Its a small world after all: Not the ride

oh my goodness I almost forgot, on the last trip as well we were celebrating my husbands birthday at whisp. can. when our waiter made him get up on one of the stick horses and ride around the room while he sung happy birthday to himself :rotfl: while he was doing this I noticed a man stand up and take his picture while he was laughing really hard. I didnt think anything about it other than I thought that it was strange that someone was taking his picture but figured that maybe they just thought that it was really funny. After we got done at dinner though the guy walked up to my husband and said "everyone back home is going to see this picture when I get back" It turns out he was the new city mgr. for the city that my husband worked for.

Spring Break 2005 and it was busier than Ive ever seen WDW. Thankfully Im an avid planner so we got thru it with no prob and was able to do everything we wanted but we were sitting down waiting for the crowds from the parade and fireworks to work its way out so we could go into Fantasy Land and get our EMH bands and I struck up and conversation with the lady next to me.. Low and behold she turned out to live on my street! Of all the thousands of ppl there I run into someone in my neighborhood! Thought that was cool..

Musta been in 98.. yep had to be, I was a freshman in school... My little sister and I were in line for Goofy's Barnstormers... a couple people a head of us were some guys... at first couldn't figure it out... then finally it hit me! They were three boys from my hs basketball team. Two of them had tried to date me before that (shh don't tell them I didn't remember them). The other was the one that gave away who they were. I didn't see him for a while. He's like my "big brother." I'm the only person who can call him by his first name.

well on our last trip i have seen a good childhood friend whom i havent seen in more then 30 years.

i was waiting in line at TL when in front of me stepped someone and he just looked at me. i am a big guy so when someone deliberately steps in my way i am always surprised they didnt see my bulk coming their way. well i looked at him and it took awhile and i realized it was the younger brother of a friend. i was very happy to see an old friendly face from my days in queens new york city. i now live on the other end of long island.

well then from the side i heard a nickname i havent heard in many years. i heard him call out loudly "Hey Chipmunk". i knew right away who it was and it was just so great to see him again. we did get looks when he yelled that to me i think some people thought that chip n dale were there.

so we introduced our families to each other and then the old stories started to come out and the wives suggested we meent somewhere and re-live our forest hills days at a bar somewhere. so we met later on at R&C and had a great time remiscing.

On our first trip to Disney World, my dd and I ran into a lady I taught with during the school year on the ride ITS A SMALL WORLD!!!

We were laughing about it all next school year.

I've never run into anyone I know at WDW but while there with my best friend in Jan, she did. We were at Dinosaur in AK and she sees a girl from work. She lives over 1000 miles from WDW so it was quite a shock to see someone she knew.

I went to WDW with the choir when I was 14. At EPCOT, we saw a kid and was like that looks like so and so (a boy who went to a different school), only it was not him. However, while walking around the WS we saw the real so and so. It was odd. My parents came down at the same time and came across a family of kids who I went to elementary school with.

And in March (maybe April?) 2007 I went to BB and saw a kid working the turnstyles who I had met on the same trip when I was 14 while he was working at Typhoon Lagoon.

I always seem to run into somebody also.

The one most memorable, in 1997, I was in Germany having dinner with my DBF, his mom and sister. While sitting and eating, the dancers started pulling people out of the audience. So, as you know, most people do not know how to do the "German" dancing so, here's this girl, about 16, and she looked so cute trying to keep up, I took her picture. After dinner, we were on line to take the boat (too tired to walk) when I hear my name being called from behind me. When I turn around, it's the girl I took a picture of, who also happens to be my cousin. I had not seen in a while. Now to my defense, she had grown, cut her hair and I was seated far away.

In 2001 we were at DLP walking from one land to another connected by a short tunnel. As we walked throught the tunnel, our daugther heard her name called several times. She stopped, turned around and saw a classmate of her's from jr. high school. Both families stopped and we talked about how neither kid knew about the family coming to Paris/DLP that summer. We took pictures of everybody and to this day our daughter still talks about it.

In 1990 my bf (now my DH) and I went to WDW. We both worked at DL at the time and got in free with our IDs. Anyway, we were walking around and we ran into my ex-boyfriend who also worked at DL!!
It was a little awkward!!:rolleyes1

I also ran into a co-worker in Italy (the real Italy not WDW). It was so weird!!

Yep! I think everyone in Henry County goes the third week in September. We see bunches of people we know every year!:goodvibes

That would explain some things, I live on the henry / clayton line and keep seeing people I know in Sept. Just didn't know it was a county wide mandate to go.

D

When you get to Atlanta, take a ride on the AtlantaTrolleyTourLine
and say Hi to my son who owns the trolleyline, tell him you heard from his father on the Disboards, he is also a Disney NUT

good luck

I also see someone I know or run into someone from my hometown every trip it seems.

The weird thing is, we have been down several times at the same time as someone we know and we NEVER run into them.

Weird :confused3

In the early 90's, on two seperate occassions I saw friends from high school. One time in World Showcase I recognized a friend while he was performing in Italy. I saw another juggling in Mk. Crazy huh!!!

Going to WDW during Mardi Gras, is like a high school/college/family reunion for folks from South Louisiana.

It's happened to us, literally, on every trip! We also saw our next door neighbors when we were in Destin one year (we didn't know we would be there at the same time) and I saw my vet in the San Diego Zoo last year. It really *is* a small world!

It happened to us this past spring break. We were very close with another family several years ago..hung out..same age kids, etc. Anyway, they sold their house and moved out of the neighborhood, but only about 15 minutes away. Haven't seen them much in the past 5 years. Anyway , me and the kids are heading back to the swan and dolphin and this beautiful teenage girl calls my name. It was their oldest daughter and she and her parents were staying with another family in a 2 BR at the BCV. I would not have recognized her, but was so glad she called out to us. She and my daughter hung out the rest of the vacation!

Funny thing is, we still have not gotten together back home!:rotfl2:

I ran into a friend of mine and she told me how excited that she was going to WDW this summer for the first time with her family. We were at WDW last week getting in lone for BTMR and I heard someone yelling my name. When I turned around there was my friend and her family. They all had smiles from ear to ear. You could tell they really were enjoying their first visit to Disney World.
