It's not sad.... Corey is a VERY picky eater and we will be travelling with her mother, who has her own dietary concerns, so yeah, I pretty much can tell you which dishes will be the ones that are picked at each restaurant. I am more of the wildcard of the bunch, but those two are pretty predictable. All of the restaurants were chosen more for their needs than mine. After almost 9 years together, I don't expect Corey to change her ways and her mom is diabetic and has CHF and is on a low sodium diet, so she has very little choice in what she can safely eat. I have to make some calls to get low sodium and diabetic friendly options set up for her before we go too. The regular menu items won't entirely do for her.

We are big fans of using the Touring Plans from the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World's website I can't directly link to it on the DIS, but for less than $8, they provide a best days calendar for almost a full year in advance. They have never let me down and I like that it's so much cheaper than TGM. They have a nifty new custom touring plan maker too. I love it!

Hi, we're also going in December (12/7-12/14), staying at CBR---first trip with my kids.....DS8 and DD7. I have most of my restaurants picked but was also waiting on the EMH hours to come out. Although I still don't really get whether to avoid those days or use the EMH- we aren't buying hopper option.

I did look at the crowd calendar at UG website, and tentatively made a plan based on that. But I was totally confused about making my own custom touring plans It seems like you pretty much have to tell the program where you want to go when, as opposed to having it generate a touring plan for you based on your preferences.

Timon-N-Pumbaa fan, any tips on using the custom touring plans? Should I also register for Tour Guide Mike? It's almost like information overload

But it's so much fun to plan!

I have used TGM, but to be honest, it doesn't provide customized touring plans either. I used them last year to try them out. The info about the parks, resorts, and restaurants is less detailed and less updated and way more expensive than the FREE info available on www.wdwinfo.com and www.allears.net

If you haven't gone before or haven't gone that often, like in the last 3 years or so, read up on the FREE sites to figure out what sounds like the "must do's" aim for 5 to 10 rides/attractions/shows and once you have that down, go to the UG's Touring Plan website. Look through their pre-made tours. Find the one that looks closest to what you would like to do. Then, if you want to totally detail it out, go to http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/ and see the other entertainment type stuff that's offered, so you have a basic idea of when you would want to try to be available to catch stuff like Mulch Sweat and Shears, DeVine, or Woody's Cowboy Camp. Steve's website is updated each Sunday with the week's schedules. It doesn't vary much from week to week unless the "Season" changes because the busier it is, the more stuff they try to offer, so they can keep the guests happy and entertained. So, with all of that info, you can then compile it into your own personalized Touring Plan which is a lot of work, but it can be a keepsake of your time in the parks, especially if you do like I do and take it to Kinkos and have it laminated, so that rain and water rides won't have their way with it and ruin the plan.

Is that obsessive enough? If not, some other great things to look at for your planning pleasure.....

Wow, thank you so much for all of that great info! I haven't been to WDW since I was 15, which was 21 years ago, and with what little I remember it's like starting from scratch planning this trip. I don't know how I would have gotten this far without Disboards!
