That is so something my MIL would do! She is mad at DH because the day after we get back they are having a 50th Birthday party for his Aunt. It's at 2PM, an hour away from us. DH is usually home in bed between 3PM-4PM because that is first night back to the overnight shift. MIL is beyond angry and said that his Aunt has done so much for him (like be rude to me) and that he needs to go. I told her point blank that I wasn't going and DH had to sleep. It's not like him working overnight is a new thing, he has told the WHOLE family numerous times that if they want him to come, events can't be on Sunday afternoons.
I feel your pain, I truly do.

I do love having my bed to myself. DH works 4 nights a week, 10 hour shifts so those four nights are heaven! Though I do look forward to his first night off. It works well for us.We have the same issue. My DH has worked 3rd shift for 9 years and people still question why we have to leave early on Sunday afternoon outings. Speaking of which...don't you love having your bed to yourself when your DH is at work
