Plan so far...May 2-7....5 day parkhoppers.

Thursday, May 2nd
Fly PDX-SNA arriving at SNA 9:35am
Park Day -- World of Color

Friday - park day (Fantasmic! Dessert Package)

Sat - park day (possible magic morning)

Sun -- park day OR Universal??

Mon - Park day

Tues -- Park day if no park day SUnday. Fly home in evening (6:55p flight).

Not sure which days but we'll be doing either a CB or dinner, not sure which.

I'm thinking DS8 would LOVE Universal, and the only time I went I was pg with him so didn't do everything, wasn't feeling up to it.
I would like to do the Universal w/ city tour thru Grayline.

Last thing I'm contemplating is the tour: Discover the Magic - sounds like a great fun scavanger hunt for my kid PLUS getting to go straight on some rides is a bonus too!

What would you think, will it all fit or should I add an extra day at the end for travel home?

if you have it in your budget to do so I highly recommend travel days. We try to plan a travel day at the beginning and end of our trip so all our park days are full days after a nights rest and then we can take our time going home.

I would also recommend an additional day if it is in your budget.

I have a friend that took the Discover the Magic tour and LOVED it. I happen to love every tour I have been on. I think they are well done, engaging, and many do give you a chance to ride some of the rides. If he has never been to Disneyland before he will love this.

8 years old is a perfect age to have a blast at Disneyland. He should be tall enough to ride everything at that age, so it is just a matter of him trying out rides to see what he likes. My son is 10 and his favorites are Star Tours and Indiana Jones in addition to all of the roller coasters. I would anticipate that your son might also follow in that direction. But also at this age you will probably be taking mid day breaks. That is another reason to add a day. It will give you that extra time in the parks.

This will be our second trip, we went this past March. His favorites were Tower of Terror, Star Tours, GoGo Gadget Coaster (seriously on MTTMM day he went 5x in a row) and Indiana Jones :-)

When Alex was first able to ride Mulholland Madness (now Goofy's Sky School) he rode 17 times in a row. Gotta love little boys. I am glad he has been before and knows what he likes. That will make it easier for ride planning.
