We will be going on our first trip this Sept. It will be me, dh, dd 10, ds almost 8, and ds almost 5 going.
We arrive on Sunday 9/21 and leave Sat 9/27.
We do not have park hoppers so we will be only doing 1 park per day.
Sun MK
Mon AK
Tues Epcot
Wed pool day, maybe dinner in DTD or 1/2 day at Epcot again?
Th MK again
FR ????
Sat DTD for things we did not get the first time, and pool until we leave for airport

I'm not sure what we should do on friday. Is there a park that we should go to one more time. I thought we would go to MNSSHP but dh says we will see enough characters, parades and fireworks that we don't really need too go. He really just doesn't want to spend the extra $$$.

I would really try to attend MNSSHP if at all possible. It's not just about the parades, characters and fireworks, although all of those are great reasons to attend.

If this is your first trip, I guarantee you there will be things you want to do or even things you want to do again and just don't have the time. MNSSHP will allow you to repeat those and although the park will not be empty by any means, it will have smaller crowds. We go every October trip--sometimes twice on a trip. We don't do the dress up thing, but there are plenty of folks who do, especially the kids.

Also , I noticed no day for the Studios. Why not do that on Thursday then hit MK on the last day. It's a great way to end the trip, and we always start and end at MK.

One final note, and this is not for everyone style of touring, but we always go commando style. Hit the morning EMH, ready to go at rope drop. We don't return until the park closes. No breaks for naps or swims. You've got a day built in for that.

All I can say is you will wish you had Hopper passes! And don't forget Disney's Hollywood Studios. It would be like not seeing the end of a movie!! Hava a great trip!

I didn't even realize that I didn't plan a day at HS.How could I have missed that :confused3 It was definitely a park we were going to go to. My dd would kill me since she wants to see the HSM 2 thing. I guess now I know what we will do Friday if we don't do the MNSSHP. If we do do that I guess I would change HS to Wednesday but then there would be no take it easy day. Do most of you take at least one day to rest or do you hit a park everyday you are there? Do you go back to the resort for some R and R and then go back to a park?

We go to a park every day. Boys that are 17, 6 & 4. We go in the morning, after lunch head back to resort rest/swim and then go back out for dinner. After a party night or a late night in general, we hang out resort and swim or whatever and don't hit a park until later. The younger 2 always get up early no matter what time they fall asleep, so we get tons done in the morning and tend to just relax, eat dinner and walk around when we go in the evenings.

In any itinerary I help friends plan, I always leave a day with no ADR and no park scheduled.. and its for everyone going on that trip to make a decision while on the trip.. about what they want to see more of..

I always label that day "CHOICE" and leave it alone.

Maybe that's what you should do with Friday... decide NOT to decide right now?

Just wanted to add a little more confusion to ideas for that Friday! :rotfl: The Food & Wine Festival at EPCOT starts that day too!:yay:

We'll be there the same time as you......

yes, studios is a must!! Tower of terror, rockin roller coaster, and i loved the HSM thing, it was pretty short, and im ashamed to admit, im in my 30"s:scared1:
and i loved the HSM thing!!! BUt, this is my fav park!! :thumbsup2
Make sure ya try to get there like 30 min early, sit in the front, ya get to dance a play some bball wit the character look alikes!! ;)

You definitely need to go to the studios. And MNSSHP has the most AWESOME fireworks display that is worth the price of the ticket alone.

A day "off" at Disney is very over rated IMHO:cool1: We go to a park everyday. We are there at rope drop and stay through lunch, head back to the rsort for a swim and a nap(only when we go in Aug), then diner and back to either the park we started or a different park. We are park commandos and ejoy everything the parks have to offer. And besides you can not see everything in one trip, so you will just have to plan a second, the a third, and so on...:goodvibes

Your kids would LOVE MNSSHP! The parade, fireworks , CANDY, extra characters and decorations make this night so much fun. One good thing to remember is to take your time and truly enjoy every moment! Have fun!

I think it depends on yourselves and your family. I find that taking a break a couple of days makes me enjoy it more. You do an awful lot of walking and it can get tiring, especially with small children.

I was going to mention DHS, but, someone beat me to it. The kids will love the Muppets, The Little Mermaid, Power Rangers, the Stunt shows, etc.

If this is your first trip, then I don't think Park Hoppers are that necessary. There is a lot to see for a whole day in each park and the smaller parks like Animal Kingdom make for an earlier end to the day and a chance for you and the kids to catch your breath.

I think you are wise to schedule a second chance at MK because that is usually the kids favorite, but, again, it depends on your family if two whole days are necessary.

In my humble opinion, even if you never plan on going again (won't happen btw) taking a break will enhance the experience, lessen the fatigue and make you really want to go back. As much as I love Disney, I can get over-moused very quickly.

Have a great time.

This is a great way to think about it. My Disney OCD would give me anxious fits, but that's my issue. I recommend considering this.

My other thoughts are, if you decide you need the hoppers, you can add them at any point in the trip & the cost is the same; heat & humidity are likely to be significant issues still at the time you're going, so don't hesitate to take that mid-day break to keep everyone re-charged -- I know a PP said they never use them, but we didn't ever either -- until we did a summer visit :scared: . With this being your first visit & the amount of time you're there, I personally can't see a down day being of much benefit, but that's strictly a personal decision. You know your bunch best, if you need it, take it & enjoy. Personally I'd utilize a mid-day break each day & tour every day you're there.

Whatever your decisions, I hope they work best for all & you have a magical trip!

I am trying to talk my hubby into the PPP for out May trip and he feels the same... "arent we going to see enought of that stuff" heck he said we can only do 2 fire works and 1 parade... HA thats what he thinks... LOL

I am going to see if I can talk a family member into getint he PPP tickets or maybe I will just have to buy them and say ok we are going... but at this point its not on our list... :)
