My family & I were in Daytona then WDW from 7/5 to 7/16. When we were out at night our legs were bitten by some type of bug that made small, red marks on our skin & itched like crazy! They were similar to mosquito bites but itched ALOT more. Can anyone tell me what they were & what I need to bring next July too keep from getting bit again. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I'm not sure, but a similar thing happen to us on a trip to Mexico. We never did find out for sure what little bugs were biting us. We think they were Sand Fleas? Now We travel with Cortizone cream or Bug Bite relief. Maybe use a bug spray on legs and feet for the next trip? I looked up Sand Fleas, it said they are like midget mosquito's? Some also call them no-see-ems or Nat's. Pesty little critters. I seem to be allergic to them, as I swell up and itch more when bitten by these bugs. I hope this helps. Good luck keeping them away on your next vacation.
They call the jiggers, no seeum's, etc. I got bit in April on the ferry from POR to DTD. We have these bugs in Wisconsin in our lakes and on the shores. You can try bug spray.
