Itchin' For Some Fun...12/10/09 - 12/14/09...Finished 3/17

I get excited when I see Cindy, too- glad I'm not the only over-grown little girl out there!!

Me, too! I just love her!

WOW amazing parade pictures ~ you really had a great spot! :goodvibes

I had heard that over by Liberty Square was a good spot, but I wanted to be in front of the castle for Wishes and not have to find a new spot. It turned out to be a great spot!

I love that we can go to WDW and see men who you know are big time executives and principals and cops and do all manner of jobs where they have to be so serious and stern, and they are walking down Main Street wearing a Goofy hat, eating a Mickey ice cream bar, and grinning from ear to ear as they are waiting in line to see a Princess. :)

That is so true! Tom has so much stress at work (he's in banking), and at Disney all of that slips away and he's a true kid again! He definitely had as much fun as I did and can't wait to go back!

Wow, I've finally met someone who takes as many parade pictures as me! My DH asked me if I was going to take a picture of every float as if that was a ridiculous thing to do.:confused: Of'course you take a picture of every float! :lmao:

I really enjoyed it though. It is a great parade! I love the cinnamon smell when Clarabell's float comes by!

UGGGHHH I missed an update somehow! Sorry!

For the record, I go for the apples after a couple of days at WDW too!!!

And next trip, I am totally bringing you as much official souvie buyer. You always find the best deals!!!!

Great parade pics! Can't wait to see it in person someday!

...Ah yes! These guys have the most important job in the entire parade!! :lmao:

I absolutely agree with you... when we went to the party in 2005 I recall saying the exact same thing: that the parade alone was worth the cost of the party ticket!! :cloud9:

I love how you were able to capture the Castle in the background of so many pictures! Thanks, I really enjoyed them...

Kathy

Jumping over from my TR to check out yours. I've spent the last few days catching up. Sounds like a great trip (minus the itchy hands)! I love all the Disney-at-Christmas pictures! Looking forward to hearing more about your MVMCP night!

Wow, your MVMCP parade prictures take me right back to it. I absolutely love that parade. Thank you so much for posting all those pictures :goodvibes.

Great updates since last I checked! BTW, I LOVE your pics of the MVMCP parade. You definitely have a way of capturing the mood with pictures. Glad you guys had such a great time. And I love your Christmas party merch!!!

Are you planning on MVMCP again in Nov? I'm not sure, myself.

Very nice pictures. I think MVMCP parade is the best of all I have seen so far, I know there are parades I haven't seen yet so far now I will rank this ine my favorite.
The wooden sodiers for me was totally amazing, to have such big and bulky costumes but still be able to march in such unison...too cool.

My DH asked me if I was going to take a picture of every float as if that was a ridiculous thing to do.:confused: Of'course you take a picture of every float! :lmao:

What? He actually asked that? :rotfl2: You never know which shot is going to be "the one"!!!

For the record, I go for the apples after a couple of days at WDW too!!!

They were so good and crisp! And the juice was ice cold! :thumbsup2

...Ah yes! These guys have the most important job in the entire parade!! :lmao:

Thankfully we didn't see any of them "in action"!!! :rolleyes1

Are you planning on MVMCP again in Nov? I'm not sure, myself.

Probably not, unless Tom really wants to do it. I'm thinking we're going to do deluxe dining and try out some of the signature restaurants instead.

I know, it was so cool that they could do that!

When I left off, we had finished the parade and were scoping out a spot for Wishes. Originally we were just going to keep our spot in the hub, but we decided to give up our spot so that we could get some photopass shots in front of the castle. Big mistake. We ended up not buying the CD, so we basically gave up our seats for nothing. I knew that we wanted to ride some rides after Wishes, so we ended up on the bridge into Liberty Square. Even bigger mistake. There was a tree in front of us, and most of the fireworks went off behind the castle. We could only see the very high ones. At first I was really disappointed, but I got over quickly and just munched on the rest of my apples.

When the fireworks were over, we headed over to Splash Mountain.

We had fastpasses from earlier in the day, but we found out that they were not taking fastpasses during the party. It didn’t matter, though. A lot of people must have left after Wishes, because the park definitely felt a lot less crowded. There was only a 10 minute wait posted, and we basically just kept walking until the loading area. We threw on our ponchos and got first row! It was really fun in the dark, but I got a little nervous on the drop because it felt like my hands were going to hit the briar patch.

Next we headed over to Big Thunder Mountain.

Again, this was my first time riding in the dark. It felt like a completely different ride; I loved it so much! We got right back in line afterwards and rode again.

We decided to ride Splash one more time before heading to AdventureLand. The wait time was non-existent this time and I barely had time to get my poncho on. It was wet from the last ride, which made it harder to get on, and the CM manning the logs was yelling at me to get moving. It was a good thing I wore it though, because this time we got SOAKED! We got nailed by the huge splash from a log coming down the drop as we were going around the curve at the bottom of the drop. It was so fun, though, we just laughed ourselves silly. When we got back to the unloading area, there was no one waiting and the CM offered for us to ride again without getting out. It was so tempting, but I could feel that my pants were a little wet and I was worried about the camera under my poncho.

The ponchos were from the dollar store, so we tossed them in the trash as we were leaving. On our way to AdventureLand, we stopped in Liberty Square to get more apples, cookies, and cocoa.

I also went into the shop there and got a Christmas Donald for Lee.

Next on the agenda was Jungle Cruise, but I was crushed to find out it wasn’t running. So we went on Pirates instead. No wait at all!

By this time, it was 11:30. I asked Tom how he wanted to spend the last half hour and he wanted to ride Space Mountain. So we headed over to TomorrowLand. When we got there, Space was shut down due to technical difficulties. The CM said they were hoping it would be back up within a few minutes, so we grabbed a seat nearby and waited. After about 15 minutes, it was looking like it wasn’t going to open afterall. So instead of riding Space Mountain, Tom chose Astro Orbiter as our last ride.

I had never ridden this, and was a little leary because I get sick on rides that go in circles. It wasn’t bad, though. I wish I had taken pictures while on the ride. We had a fantastic view of the lit up wreath on the Contemporary. So gorgeous!

After we got off, we headed to Main Street. I wanted to visit the bakery and get a cinnamon bun for the next day’s breakfast. When we got there, they were just about to lock up, but we got in! We got our cinnamon bun to go and headed back out.

As we were leaving the park, I grabbed some more pictures. This was our last time in the parks for this trip, and I was so reluctant to leave.

...continued in next post...

We got back to our room at 1:00am, cleaned up, and hit the pillows. Tomorrow there would be no alarm. We would have a leisurely morning and then hit Downtown Disney!

What a bummer about the fireworks, but all the rides you were able to do must have eased the pain somewhat! :goodvibes

Those Mickey hot chocolate cups are adorable as is Christmas Donald! So cute!!!

That looked like so much fun! We found the lines for rides during MVMCP were practically non-existent too. I suppose people are seeing shows or characters.
Great pictures! Isn't hard to tear yourself away on your last night? At least you got your cinnamon roll!!!

When I did MVMCP in Dec 07 it seems it took us all night to do everthing the party offered and I didn't get to ride anything, I think looking back I would have given up one of the shows, (not the fireworks or parade though) and gone on some rides instead, live and learn.

I would love to do BTMRR in the dark, that's on my list of things to do when DH and I go in September.

Your ride picture from splash Mountain is awesome, you look like you were having so much fun.

Love the Splash Mountain picture! You look like you were having an amazing time! :goodvibes

Sorry to hear you didn't get a good seat for the fireworks. The same thing happened to us at MNSSHP :sad2:
