We picked up the new 2005 Birnbaum WDW Guide and under Magic Kingdom Musts (Short on time? Here's a list of all the attractions that put the magic in Magic Kingdom) and Epcot Essentials (There is a lot to see and do at Disney's discovery park. Don't leave without investigating these outstanding attractions) they have listed Stitch's Great Escape and Soar'in.
I guess there is something to be said about positive thinking. I've been on Soar'in Over California, so personally I think it's worthy of this distinction. As for Stitch, well I guess the jury will get its hands on it soon. But stating that it puts the magic in the Magic Kingdom before it opens, that's priceless.
The Guide does contain descriptions of the rides, the high points:
Stitch: Alien Encounter fans take note: Our friend Skippy appears in the new Stitch's Great Escape. The scary alien does not. This 20 min attraction is much more family friendly than the last incarnation. Yet there are dark moments, so young children may be frightened. Also, the shoulder restraints may spook claustrophobes. You must be at least 44 inches tall to enter.
Soar'in: (Note: It's listed as Soar'in, not Soar'in Over California) Up, up, and away! On this high-flying new Epcot attraction (it's been thrilling visitors at Disney's California Adventure park for years), you'll be suspended in a hang glider 45 feet in the air, above a giant IMAX projection dome treated to an aerial tour of some of the most awe-inspiring landscapes the state of California has to offer. 42 inch hight requirement.
