My "shower time" is my "reflect on things" time. Often tough problems seem to reveal their answer when I turn inwards and think quietly with all external distractions removed.
It struck me in the shower today, that I have a tremendous, close knit group of friends who are a vital part of my social support - an important part of my connection with others. It is not my best friends who I go see movies with and chat on the phone with. It is not the many friends and coworkers I interact with during my work day.
It is my friends here on the DIS.
As I considered the many people who I have come to know and care about it struck me how important those relationships have become in my life. I won't name names - I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings by ommission. But, I sat and named MANY dissers who I regularly interact with - via PMs, regular posts, and once in a great while CHAT!
There are garden gurus, animal lovers, and playful riddle buds. There are many kind souls who speak from their heart and make me wish I could be more like them. They are the imps who play "fluff" games - keeping large doses of childish enthusiasm and wonder in my life. There are the considerate ones who out of the blue send encouraging and thoughtful pms. And a few are all of the above. True treasures.
All of them engaging and everyone an enrichment of my life.
What a lucky person I am.
