It seems the free dining dates may have changed a bit...or not...?

I've noticed this as well. We are booked at CBR for free dining with a check in of 10/7. Yesterday I was going to call and change to a deluxe but I didn't have time so I paid our balance last night online. This morning I went to see what deluxe resorts were available and they've changed the check in date to 10/6.

Yes - Dining dates have changed. 11/26 now included.:cool1:

Small World Vacations (Kathy) is so awesome to email that info to me this morning! First night room only ressie is canceled and one more day of free dining on package with park tix has been added.:thumbsup2

I checked and our family suite is not available for Saturday, the 26th for free dining which means we'd have to stay in a double/double the first three days of our reservation and switch to the family suite starting Sunday.... Is it worth it?

And they continue to change.............

The last date in December 2011 originally was 12/17, then it went to 12/16 and today it is 12/15!

My dates are 12/16 thru 12/23 and yesterday I played witht the dates and I could still book 12/16 thru 12/23 at POP but today when I entered my dates, I get this:
"The travel dates you have specified are not available for this offer. Either select a different date range using the Change Your Search module to the left or you can check availability for your preferred dates from the Tickets and Reservations page."
I moved the date back to 12/15 and I get this:
"The Resort or Resort Category you requested is unavailable for the dates and party size selected. An alternate has been provided. To see if the Resort or Resort Category you requested is available for other dates and party sizes, use the Change Your Search module at left."

I can book my dates without the FD promo so it appears that ALL the rooms they had allocated at POP for FD are now booked. I also noticed that PORFQ is full on the FD promo with a check in date of 12/15.
There are still FD rooms at ASSp, and ASMu in standard and preferred but the latest check in date must be 12/15. There is also FD rooms still available at ASMo in preferred, no standard.

I guess my question now would be.............Since my trip is booked 12/16 thru 12/23 with the FD and it was booked when the latest check in date was 12/17, can Disney go in and take it away???

I know in my terms and conditions, there is this statement:
Prices
"All prices are in U.S. dollars and are subject to change until package is paid in full. After package is paid in full, package price is subject to change due to imposition of taxes or other charges of governmental authorities."

Has anyone ever had Disney take away the FD promo due to their dates changing????

I don't think they can change it and take away your dining. I would call to make sure you still have dining on your reservation for the entirety of your stay though. It stinks that you can't just add one more day of dining to your original reservation without having to change rooms or resorts.

Just talked to a CM.

She said that if I was booked with a check in date of 12/16 when that date was showing available with FD that they would not take it away however..........
If I needed to modify my dates at all or if I wanted to move to another resort or even if I wanted to change from the QSDP to the DDP, that I would have to have a check in date that included the last date within the FD dates listed (in my case 12/15) so basically any modifications would require a check in date that is included in the FD dates.

Hope this helps anyone out there wondering some of the same things I did :thumbsup2

Good to know! We decided to just keep our reservation as is... It wasn't worth one more day of free dining and having to switch rooms. I am still holding our hope that it will be no problem picking up our park hoppers 2 to 3 days early!!!

I agree, it does stink, especially that you have to change dates if you want to simply upgrade the QS to DDP but I am just glad they can't take it away because they changed the dates.

I didn't think to ask them if my FD was for the entirety of my stay but my reservation details show:

12/16/2011 FEATURE
2 QUICK SERVICE MEALS
1 PER PERSON, PER NIGHT [ 1, 4, 5 ]
12/23/2011 DEPARTURE

12/16/2011 FEATURE
2 SNACKS
1 PER PERSON, PER NIGHT [ 1, 4, 5
12/23/2011 DEPARTURE

So it appears on my reservation that it is included for my entire trip:cloud9:

Thank you for thinking about that:thumbsup2 I would have been sick if we would have gotten there and only had FD for 1-2 days:scared1:

Dates have changed for the end of October also. FD originally started Oct 23. We were booked for Oct 22-29, so we have a split stay: 1 night Room only + 6 nights of FD. Now Oct.22 is included in FD, but there is not availability at POFQ. I think we will stay with our current reservation, we don't feel like changing resorts to get FD for 1 day.

No problem! And now that you have it on paper there is nothing left to do but wait and enjoy! :thumbsup2

FYI - Dates have also changed in January. We're scheduled to arrive on January 21, and originally free dining didn't start until the 22nd. I was very frustrated! But they changed the date today to the 21st, and I was able to add free dining to my reservation. Saved $1,000!

YAY!!!:yay:
That is the best feeling:cloud9:
I was able to save $972 off my ressie and I remember being soooo excited!!!:dance3:
It looks like they are moving around alot of different dates, some that help and some that don't, just so glad that I got the FD when my check in date was included since it isn't anymore:thumbsup2

Seems they will honor it for people who previously booked, but they are no longer taking those original dates. I don't think it's as simple as the allocated rooms being booked up --- I said it right from the start -- the dates made no sense. Someone at Disney made a major mistake with the Calendar. For example, if you want President's Week to be a blackout (which is should be), then you don't offer free dining for Saturday check-in. Same with Thanksgiving Week.

So they saw the overwhelming number of people using free dining for peak weeks.... and decided they better fix it.

The original dates were clearly a mistake. Even massive billion dollar corporations can make a stupid mistake. So they are correcting it going forward.
For people who already booked the dates, I'm sure Disney won't try to take away the free dining.

This really puts a damper on people trying to book for Mardi Gras-this is the first time I have seen an offer "adjusted" prior to the end of booking...

At first, they just adjusted it by 1 day... And they continued to honor the original dates. They simply didn't advertise the original dates. Then they adjusted it again, and now they are only honoring the adjusted dates -- so it seems.

This must have been a major error -- wonder if someone got fired over it.

I agree. They used to do it Friday - Thursday. Someone goofed.

I was looking at bookings just last night and hubby and I decided that the free dining was the clincher for staying on property. So I go to book this morn and our arrival date is no longer offered!! So my question is, is there even a remote chance they will move the dates around again?! We were looking at checking in on Dec 16th, and no, we can't go down a day early because of dd's finals. I guess maybe I could go on the 15th and the others could join me on the 16th , but not sure if that is all worth it. We can get 2 rooms at the Swan for less than 1 Disney room for 5 people. Maybe we should just do that. Any thoughts? I am in complete shock at how our plans have changed in less than 24 hrs. Any words of advice?

Unbelievable, they changed the dates a second time. I was sort of considering going for Thanksgiving but they have moved the dates. Oh well, maybe their will be a PIN.

Just curious as to where you go to see these details? I logged in online and I don't get that in depth of details. Just says, "Vacation Package Name: Magic Your Way Package Plus Quick-Service Dining". I would like to check myself also.
