It’s Always Sunny in California!..Eh?...L’il Bit!

We did that castle walk thru on our trip....NEVER again Im fat and closterphopic there were a ton of ppl going thru there it was narrow and hot and I wanted to hurry up and get down the stairs to get out and I couldn't cuz there was so many people....I about died...a lot of it could have also been I think my sugar was getting low at that time but I was a little freaked out...and it was really stuffy in there so that didn't help

How neat you can go inside the castle! I wish they would do something like this in WDW. LOVE your Aladdin pics. That looks like an awesome show. I would love to see it on Broadway.

It really is a neat thing. Of course you are one of those "lucky ones" who have been in the castle suite!!! :rolleyes1

I can imagine that with a ton of people in there it would be hard to get through.
I get like that too when I am hungry, Not always a nice person to be around then!

Dinner tonight was at Flo’s. Cass and I had been looking at the food porn thread on Dis and the food here looked really good and was a must do on our list!

A look at Radiator Springs.

We somehow went in the wrong door. I think maybe we had a potty stop and went in through a door near there? Anyways, the line wasn’t too bad so we just hopped over/under the queue rope and got in line. It didn’t take too long to get up to order…but longer than it should have.

We discussed what we were going to have, both of us settling on the Turkey dinner, but I was going to get peas and carrots, while Cass decided on the roasted corn medley. I told her I like corn…..but was a little leery what it meant by medley? How many kinds of corns are there?

This was a picture in a glass case. I think it was kid’s offerings?

And you can barely make it out….but this was some cute silverware that looked like tools. And no they don’t let you use stuff like this. I am not sure if they ever did, but I would assume people would steal it left and right.

We made our orders and then waited and waited and waited. The ordering went fast, but when it came time for them to get the food out to you they were slower than molasses.

While waiting a person in the next line over asked the food counter people if she would change her roast beef to turkey would it come out faster because she had been waiting so long. I quickly told her that wouldn’t help because I have been waiting on turkey. LOL.

Finally it came and Cass had gotten hers first so I went and found her at a table. Getting back there was a chore too. Strollers in the middle of the aisle way and then the people were standing in the small space left talking. I was tired, hot and hungry and I am sure my “excuse mes” had a ring to them of “Get the heck out of my way!”

I also got a shake to drink. I think it was cookies and cream or something along that line.

Sad to say, but the meal was just OK. I don’t think I found butter for my roll and that’s disappointing and it just didn’t taste as good as it looked all around. The shake was really good though.
Cass said hers wasn’t that great either and told me I should be glad I didn’t get the corn medley as it wasn’t very good at all.
I think the gravy was part of the problem….it had that cheap gravy taste. I think it might have been better if I had asked for no gravy.

After we were done we cleared away our plates (they use real utensils here) and I took this cute picture.

And then we headed out once again.
I swore I took pictures during this time, but I guess it was another night. I was a bit chilly and Cass had been looking for a few specific things, so we shopped around a bit. I found a really cute Carsland sweatshirt/hoodie, but it seemed really thin and for the price I just couldn’t justify it. Boy, later that night I regretted that!

It was time to start making our way over towards Paradise Pier for our FP to see World of Color.

I don’t think we had to wait too long and we were let in to find a place. We picked a spot off to the left side along a railing and then we chatted. The wind was a little breezy and it started to get cold. Not winter cold, but cold enough for someone in short sleeves. Even Cass, who is almost always hot, said that her arm facing the wind was getting pretty darn cold.
It was funny, because I was pretty cold, but at least talking sort of kept my mind off of it a l’il bit. I think I may have called home during that time too… and though I jumped around to keep warm and complained a bit, there were people there wrapped up completely like it was winter! There was a guy with jeans and a hoodie and a scarf or something wrapped around him and he was sitting on the ground shaking. Seriously! It wasn’t that bad!
I did however feel that if the parents looked away from the kids near us in strollers….. then I might steal one of their blankets to wrap up in. Hah!

It did start eventually and it was totally worth our cold wait!

Let me tell you that my pictures do not do this show justice at all. I just kept snapping and I am not impressed at all with what I got. The show is beautiful…..so much color…and so stimulating. I really enjoyed it and the music with it is great as well.

Ok, it is completely PRICELESS that you posted a picture of the themed clock in Flo's Cafe after mentioning how long the wait for the food was! Love it! :thumbsup2

Too bad about the food, cause the themeing of the place definitely looks good.

The water projected pictures in World of Color remind me of parts of Fantasmic...looks like a pretty show.

Sorry to hear that the food at Flo's wasn't that great especially after having to wait so long to actually get your food.

The World of Color pictures are amazing! It reminds me of Fantasmic but yet it's different. Looks sooooo cool!

LOVE your WOC pics! I can't wait til we get to see it!! We had gotten FP's last time but just couldn't make it to the show we will def be making it next time

I love those pictures of Carsland at night. I am horrible at getting decent night shots. Your WOC pics are much better than anything I would be able to produce.

Sorry your dinner wasn't as good as you hoped, that's crazy that it took so long.

Awesome pics of World of Color! I have seen videos of that one on YT and it looks really cool, that might be my best chance of getting DH to go there someday because he really likes what he has seen of it too. Looks like you had a good spot. :thumbsup2

That's too bad the food wasn't good at Flo's. It looks like a fun place to eat. I think your World of Color pictures are great. It makes me want to get out there to see that show. :)

Catching back up! :cool1:

Awesome shots from Aladdin! Makes me want to be right back there. You had an awesome shot of Prince Ali's entrance. I think I'd love to sit where you did next time.

I just saw your shout out on my flying carpet photo. Thanks. :) I really wanted a good shot of that and was so happy to find one good one in the batch. Of course, it was a really special treat for us since it was our third trip to the show in 4 DLR trips, and our very first time to see the magic carpet fly. I can't wait to see it again next time. I'm hoping to schedule in a couple stops at the show in case we miss the magic carpet the first time. They actually stopped our show right before it flew this time with an announcement that they were having "technical difficulties" so I thought we were out of luck again. What a great surprise when it showed up!

You really did a spectacular job photographing that show with an all-in-one lens!

Too funny that Captain Jack on POTC looked so bad. Maybe you're just getting old? ;) I honestly didn't notice, but now am dying to get to those photos from our trip so I can see! :rotfl2:

I love your shots around New Orleans Square. Such beautiful details.

OMG the HEELS! YIKES! :faint: We'll just have to assume those ladies were AP holders who just stopped in for a few minutes after work? I just can't even imagine.........

I'll have to share your duck photos with Katie. She just loves those Disney ducks. :goodvibes

You really should try to get to DLR during the holiday season. You NEED to see Small World lit up for the holidays. We ended our night there 3 nights of our trip. It was awesome.

I'm loving your pics from Toontown. The day we were there it was wall to wall people. We waited in line 45 minutes to see Mickey. :faint: We went back to see Mickey again one evening just as the parade was starting and we walked right through in 5 minutes. The area was empty, but it was also dark out, so not great for quick photos.

I can't believe you didn't get to do Storybookland! It was closed while we were there but we look forward to doing it next time. It's really so charming. But I do remember some VERY long waits there on prior trips. We did it once a few years ago during early entry and they only had ONE boat going. They would fill it up, then we would wait for it to go all the way around, then fill it again. Then when it was almost our turn, someone came up with a GAC and enough people to fill the entire boat..... so we waited yet another time around. Yet I still want to do it! :lmao: Katie loves it too. :goodvibes

I'm sure you know the wait for Peter Pan is always long. But if you were there when the wait for Pinocchio was long......... you were there on a very busy day.

Love the night photos of Carsland! You were there at the perfect time to catch some blue night skies!

What a bummer on the turkey dinner being a disappointment. We had breakfast there (which I hear they no longer serve) but was looking forward to dinner next time...... more specifically turkey dinner.

Can't wait to see more. You're certainly putting me to shame in the TR progress. I'm hoping to find time to work on mine again very soon! :cool1:

You got some good WOC photos! I found taking them with my cell phone was better than my camera. Go figure.

That is disappointing about your dinner. Always stinks when something you are really excited for turns out to be not so great.

Funny you said that about the people dressed for winter. My cousin who lives about 20 mins from DL had posted on FB this winter that there was a winter weather advisory because there was an artic chill coming in. Temperatures were expected to be in.......wait for it.........the 40s! I think I told her to man up because it was 9 here in Boston with out the wind chill lol. So funny how people from different areas experience cold differently. When I was out there in August last year, they were all "melting" in the heat and I was sitting there happy as a clam all nice and comfy. I think it was about 84!

Bummer about the dinner at Flo's. We had breakfast there (I guess we got lucky if they no longer serve it!) and we really liked it.

Beautiful WOC pics! It really is an eye-catching show with great music.

I would have been laughing at the guy all wrapped up too! He's obviously from the south.

Too bad about the food, cause the themeing of the place definitely looks good.

It was crazy how long it took for our food. I am not a patient person either.
It was really bad food, but not nearly as good as I hoped.
I have yet to see Fantasmic!!!!SHHHHH!

Sorry to hear that the food at Flo's wasn't that great especially after having to wait so long to actually get your food.

The World of Color pictures are amazing! It reminds me of Fantasmic but yet it's different. Looks sooooo cool!

I wish it was better. I would still go again and just try something else.
Spoiler! I still have not seen Fantasmic!

LOVE your WOC pics! I can't wait til we get to see it!! We had gotten FP's last time but just couldn't make it to the show we will def be making it next time

WOC is amazing. You must see it!

I love those pictures of Carsland at night. I am horrible at getting decent night shots. Your WOC pics are much better than anything I would be able to produce.

If you can hold the camera steady, you can get somewhat decent pictures, but it's not always easy to.

:thumbsup2

I hope you can convince him to go!!!

That's too bad the food wasn't good at Flo's. It looks like a fun place to eat. I think your World of Color pictures are great. It makes me want to get out there to see that show. :)

It is a fun place, but the slowness was really making me cranky!

Catching back up! :cool1:

Awesome shots from Aladdin! Makes me want to be right back there. You had an awesome shot of Prince Ali's entrance. I think I'd love to sit where you did next time.

It was a decent spot, but not great for the flying carpet

Feel free to post your shot. It is awesome!!!!

You really did a spectacular job photographing that show with an all-in-one lens!

Thanks. I still need to call about getting it fixed.

Too funny that Captain Jack on POTC looked so bad. Maybe you're just getting old? ;) I honestly didn't notice, but now am dying to get to those photos from our trip so I can see! :rotfl2:

Maybe he was having a bad day?

I love your shots around New Orleans Square. Such beautiful details.

Thanks

Crazy! Isn't it?

I'll have to share your duck photos with Katie. She just loves those Disney ducks. :goodvibes

LOL. I like to take a few, but not 30 or so in a row! :rolleyes1

You really should try to get to DLR during the holiday season. You NEED to see Small World lit up for the holidays. We ended our night there 3 nights of our trip. It was awesome.

I would love to. Honestly I would love to vacation over Christmas. I love my family but by the end it's all so tiring.

I'm loving your pics from Toontown. The day we were there it was wall to wall people. It was always crowded there when we went back for the most part. Well at least it seemed that way to me.

I can't believe you didn't get to do Storybookland! It was closed while we were there but we look forward to doing it next time. It's really so charming. We did get to see a majority of it later in the trip when riding that train though. It looks so cute.
What a pain. WE found out at Legoland that they run one ride vehicle for several things. I thought that was so dumb.

I'm sure you know the wait for Peter Pan is always long. But if you were there when the wait for Pinocchio was long......... you were there on a very busy day.

I do hope to get back and finally get on Peter Pan there!

Love the night photos of Carsland! You were there at the perfect time to catch some blue night skies!

It was so pretty at night.

What a bummer on the turkey dinner being a disappointment. We had breakfast there (which I hear they no longer serve) but was looking forward to dinner next time...... more specifically turkey dinner.

Yeah, it looks really good, but sadly it wasn't that great. The veggies were good though. WEll mine were at least! ;)

Can't wait to see more. You're certainly putting me to shame in the TR progress. I'm hoping to find time to work on mine again very soon! :cool1:

You'll get to yours when you have time. I am trying to whip this one out, but once I start the WDW one I am sure I will slow down....and forget a lot more!

You got some good WOC photos! I found taking them with my cell phone was better than my camera. Go figure.

I found some of my cell pictures were better too.

That is disappointing about your dinner. Always stinks when something you are really excited for turns out to be not so great.

I know, it was so disappointing. I am glad we tried it though and it did fill the bellies!

Yeah, Stacy was wearing long sleeves that day we spent together and I was in short sleeves. It was so nice to me, and nice for her too, but still not t-short and shorts weather for her.

I hadn't realized that served breakfast. I had not heard it stopped (untill Janet said something) BUT of course I didn't know they did in the first place. :rotfl2:

WoC is so beautiful!!

It's so funny how some people think weather is cold....and I would love for it to be that warm at home!!!!

And more pictures of World of Color…did I mention I took a lot? LOL!

Remember how I wondered the night before if those fire balls were hot when standing closer? Well on a night like tonight….they felt heavenly! So nice and warm!

THAT……WAS….AMAZING!!!!!!!!

We let the crowds leave and just hung out a bit and waited. We both hate to walk with the herds. After a l’il bit, we started to make our way out.
We decided to see if our package for the conference had arrived yet and if so if we could pick it up. We planned to have an early start the next day and the package included the tickets we would need to get in the park, so we made our way over to the Grand Californian.

Sadly, they were pretty much clueless as to what we were asking. I think the guy did go in the back and found out that they had arrived but still were being sorted. Oh well, annoying as it was, there was nothing we could do about it and we would just have to come over in the morning and get checked in and get our packages.

We then made our way back to the DL hotel.
One final shot of the night is of the headboard lit up.

I am pretty sure we went to the hot tub then. I think Cass joined me, but she might not have. What I do remember is sitting in there and some young adults, probably in their early 20s, talking away. At first it was 3 girls and they were talking about the sleeping arrangements. It was hilarious. Evidently they had 2 guys with them, but they were not their boyfriends. They elected one girl to sleep with the one guy, while the other 2 were sleeping together and I assume the other boy was sleeping on the couch. They talked about how everything would be fine and that he knew she had a boyfriend at home, etc. It was just so comical to listen to. The one girl then proceeded to tell the girls about running into someone she knew at a bar and how he kissed her and she wasn’t sure if she should tell her boyfriend, etc. They all swore her to secrecy about the whole incident.
And then the guys showed up. They looked like they were ready to party! Just listening to them all talk was funny and I am sure in my younger years I sounded just as funny. It was good entertainment.
Sadly the pool closed and we all had to get out.
I headed back to the room and then Cass and I talked into the wee hours of the morning. Ok, maybe not that late, but we talked and laughed and had a great time. Now we were acting like teens!
It was a wonderful first full day at the parks and I already learned so much about Disneyland and had seen and experienced so many new things.

luvin all the world of colour pics. It looks amazing

I am FINALLY all caught up again. :goodvibes

Sorry your meal did not turn out as good as you hoped it would be. And service sounds like it sometimes happens to us at Columbia Harbour House. Takes FOREVER to get something out. :lmao:

World of colour looks really awesome. I really need to get cracking and planning on getting us over there.
Thanks for sharing it all, Jen.

Oh, and I hope that your TA training sends you to DLRP in the future. :thumbsup2
