Unlike most we have enjoyed being on the first floor during previous stays. When we stayed in a 2 BDR at BWV we were on the first floor standard view directly across from the bus stop. We felt like we had our own yard! It was shaded by trees and we had all kinds of animal life that came to visit us, squirrels, rabbits, ducks, birds.

I am staying at BCV in a 2 Bdr lockoff on our upcoming trip and was wondering if anyone has any experience with the woods view 1st floor rooms on the backside of the resort. Hoping to enjoy a similar experience to our BWV stay!

Couple of photos from the BWV stay:

Not sure you will get what you want-very few 2BR units check out each day to begin with. That said-we just had a 1st floor pool room which we really liked, right near the hot tub. The woods view higher floors can see into EPCOT somewhat, but the service road is back there and the trees kind of block it from the upper floors. Too far down on the 1st floor may get you right near this road.

You're probably right, I checked the room charts and the area I was looking at the first floor only has four 2 BDR lockoffs there. The chances would be remote but it never hurts to ask!

We had a lovely 2BR lockoff a little futher down form the hottub a few years ago. The tall grasses were just off the patio so it seemed pretty private.

Just keep any kids away from the edge of the woods. I'm kinda atuned to this kind of stuff, but I saw a number of snakes there during our 5 night stay a few years ago. Mostly non-venomous, but I did see one water moccasin just a foot or so off the sidewalk. Also saw a Brown Water Snake -- non-venomous but an aggressive biter.

Suddenly the quiet pool view seems like a great place! I'm not a fan of Mr. No-Shoulders.

With a few rare exceptions, wildlife generally -- and snakes in particular -- are normally docile. Leave them alone, they'll leave you alone. Mess with them, they'll protect themselves and their young.

That's why most snakebites in the US are on the fingers. It's also why the wild animal that injures more people in our national parks each year is the ferocious...deer.
