Issues signing up for DAS

I am on my 5th day trying - due to work I can't start until at least 10am so I understand that puts me back in line but its been at least 5 hours each time so far with not even the first screening. The longest was a 6 1/2 hours when the chat terminated with a message that they were not accepting any more chats. (or something like that).

I am 5 hours in right now and xx fingers that I will get through at least one of the steps today.

Happy for those who have been successful, thanks for sharing your experience.

Success in renewing! 5th time is a charm, started chat at 10:30am, pre question chat at 6pm, video chat at 7:25 and selection chat at 7:45 (rounded up times) Very pleasant experience other than the wait, both chat CM's (sparkle and Jackie) as well as the video CM (Morgan) were patient and helpful even when the advance selections she found conflicted with an ADR.

tried today, waited 11 hours and never got connected. It usually takes 10 mins at the park, so I think we will just do that.

I logged in at 9:58 and it's now been 8.5 hours and still waiting. We are not going for 3 weeks so may keep trying . Problem is my son lives in a group home and only comes home weekends or sometimes just for a Sunday. If all else fails I'll just do the regular sign up in the park...as others have said it only takes us a few minutes there!

I'm not sure if reading all of your experiences fills me with solace or dispair! :). Congratulations to all who got through. I guess I'll keep holding, and refreshing, and reloading. I'm through pre-check, just waiting on a video chat after 3.5 hours. I've given up several times before. If nothing else, I guess we can just do guest relations at Epcot on Sunday.

How long ago did you get through the pre-registration chat?

Got in the chat queue at 7:05 AM, finished the pre-registration chat at 8:45, just finished the video, and now dealing a very unstable connection in the planning chat

If I am signing up for DAS for my 16 year old sons disability, does he have to be present? Whether it be online ahead of time or in the park when we get there?

Yes, the person with the disability must be present to register for DAS, either online or in-person. They may want to speak to him/her and his/her picture will be taken. That person does not need to be present for the Advanced Planning selections if you register online.

So I would have to try when he’s home from school? Ugh!

We're trying for the first time today. Been waiting since 10am. Is it normal to be logged out of the Disney site and to have to keep logging back in due to inactivity while waiting in chat?

For those who have gotten through to schedule their advance rides, is it most helpful if you type in a full list for your whole trip or do they have to do it one day at a time? I am willing to wait the time to eventually get connected but I'm hoping I can get the reservations done efficiently. Any info?

Also, my son has been getting a DAS, and a GAC before that, since 2009. Do they have that on their system already and it's just a renew?

When I did it, they went one day at a time.

My DD has been using DAS since it began (and GAC since at least 2000). We had gotten DAS in WDW in June 2021; that was expired when we went to WDW in late October.
We registered for her in EPCOT and it was basically treated as a new DAS.
The CM asked several questions regarding what difficulty our daughter had with waiting in the regular lines - she said she was required to ask. Then she authorized the DAS, had me read the terms and conditions about DAS on her iPad, then linked the rest of our party from our Friends & Family in My Disney Experience and took a photo of DD.

So DD was able to call the DAS line, get approved and pre-select some experiences. But she believed the CM who said they'd bring up the MDE plans and watch for conflicts, so now we have conflicts.

Are there any options to change two of our pre-selected times by calling back or calling some other number? Changing dining isn't an option unless something opens up last minute, which I know is possible, but we would be much less stressed if we could just change two pre-selected DAS times and remove the conflicts. DD really doesn't want to go through the chat waits again, but I might be able to talk her into it if this would likely be successful. Any ideas appreciated.

I have seen reports on here of people who open the chat again and ask to move their times and they were successful.

Some people have posted being able to open chat and move things. There are 2 possibilities to be aware of though from what people have posted:
- in order to move/change, the current DAS Advance Selection you want to alter needs to be cancelled
- there is no guarantee what attractions or times will be available when rebooking.

Keep in mind that you don’t need to use either or both of the DAS Advance Selections. If not used during their 1 hour window, they just expire. They are separate from DAS Return Times obtained in the parks and don’t need to be used before making or using DAS Return Times.
