A friend of mine asked me if there is a special seating area to watch Illuminations from. She said she had heard of some sort of special platform seating. I can't find anything about it. I did find a place called Isolata but I couldn't figure out what or where that is/was.

Anyone know what she is talking about or if it exists?

There are a few terraces around the World Showcase where you can see Illuminations. Typically, if you want them to yourself, you'll have to book a private event, such as a desert party. This is not inexpensive and not really something you'd do just to have a good view on the show.

Other than this, there is no special seating, besides benches and tables around the lagoon.

"Isolata" is an open area with a few benches across from the Italy pavilion. Unless there is a special event reserved, it is usually wide open.

Thank you!

The Illuminations Cruises are also pretty special seating... but they are tough to snag.

The Isolata is also called the Italy Isola, so maybe you will find more using that as a reference. If it isn't booked for a private event you can watch Illuminations from there. It's right in front of the Italian pavilion. It's a popular place for weddings ceremonies, receptions, and dessert parties.

If you take a tour of EPCOT you get a special viewing place for illuminations. It is near Italy, we took the tour Wed. but had to come home before Illuimations, they said we could use the viewing on a later trip.

I went on the UnDISCOVERed Future World Tour and was given admission into the reserved area of Italy for Illuminations. I'm not sure exactly what the area was called, but it was definitely a great spot to watch!
