What about making an iron-on transfer using your computer and printer? No sewing involed there!!!

AHH - that's a great idea - believe or not I've forgotten all about the iron on stuff - HMM headed to wally world - wonder if they have the transfer paper. THANKS!

Ah yes! Do head over to the DISign boards here on the DIS. LOTS of great ideas!! Many iron on designs.

Great instructions for fun tie-dye shirts (with mickey heads).

There is also a great one where you mix up flour and water (to be the consistency of glue), put it in a candy bottle (you know like the old time ketchup bottles that squirt?), draw a design on a shirt, let it dry (gets HARD), spray it with fabric paint (you can buy spray fabric paint at Wally world, Michael's, Hobby Lobby, etc).....then let that dry. Afterwards, peel off the flour/water stuff. You have a reverse design! Oh, the instructions are over there somewhere! The shirt was called a spiral mickey (but you could do ANY design!).

Last trip, I bought rhinestones (the kind with glue already on them-hot fix) and a bedazzler and made some fun shirts for the girls!! Mickey head outlines on red shirts...they turned out pretty cute.
Since DH didn't want the bling....ha! I just did his with some fabric puff paint and put a mickey head up in the corner.

Love the swirl Mickey - I'm gonna have to get hunting to see if I can find the directions - I saw Tulipe sells a restist now - may have to get it!

Ok would you STOP...you're KILLING me with all the cute designs! How on earth am I gonna have time to get all these AWESOME designs done? I think I now have more shirt designs picked out then days will be there.... guess the girls will have to change!

I know what you mean! I already have a bunch of cute shirts, but I REALLY want to try the tye-dye mickey's!! There are a couple of fun Drinking around the World designs that DH wants for the F&W festival for him and his friend, too.

As for the "adorable bling" (they are cute, aren't they??)....I used HOT FIX rhinestones (they already have glue on them that is heat activated). I bought a bedazzler with a 40% off coupon at Joanns (love money saving). It is a tool that you place the rhinestone in (on the end) and it heats up the glue, then you just place it where you want and VIOLA!!

You can also buy regular rhinestones and use fabric glue to put them on.

I just used a mickey head outline that I printed out to the right size and arranged them in a pattern inside (worked out the placement before I started gluing so that it looked good).

It really was a snap!

I do find that it's better to NOT dry these shirts. Some of the rhinestones fell off when I did and I had to replace them. Who knows if that's normal or just my luck!!

Thanks for the tips - I saw the preglued rhinestones & wondered if they'd stay or not - i dry everything! I can't remember to get things out of the pile before it goes in the dryer - or to tell the kids to snag it - so I better not try it that way.

I didn't know thats how a bedazzler worked I thought those were putting prongs into a shirt - LOL I'm clueless!
