Whatever they are I hope it's nice and worth it cause they wasted a lot of bays for them...prime real estatePocket garden?
Honestly? Yes. I think those 1 and 2 bedrooms are going to be one of the hardest rooms to book for a while. I was seriously considering adding on here until they announced it was going to be part of the same association, since we mainly book 1 bedrooms, and I worry there will be too much demand with all the existing pointsIf someone is looking to be a new Poly member specifically for 1 and 2 BRs is it really worth purchasing now based on what’s been declared? With PVB being an existing resort with existing members and points in existence, is it going to be challenging to book these categories especially at peak travel period?
I agree with @accm. We only want IPT for the 1B/2Bs, and I'm sure we're not alone. Many OG Poly owners have expanded their families and outgrown studios, and there's not that many dedicated 1Bs and 2Bs, at least IMO. Someone previously had a good educated guess it may only be 1-2 dedicated 2Bs per floor, and that's not a lot to handle the demand. I think those will be walked at every low point season AND the high peak travel weeks of kids' vacations over Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving. Heck, even 4th of July could be really tough given the fireworks views and beach. If someone is looking to be a new Poly member specifically for 1 and 2 BRs is it really worth purchasing now based on what’s been declared? I think they will be difficult until there are more points declared. This is the reason we are not even considering anymore. If someone is looking to be a new Poly member specifically for 1 and 2 BRs is it really worth purchasing now based on what’s been declared? Yup- we had been super excited, then noticed there wouldn't be any 1bdrms to book. Went from "can't wait to add on" to "ugh, just kidding"
I'm totally whiny and sad about it in my head too - love the Poly. Want to be there. Got spoiled by 1 bedrooms. They finally get some, and get like half as many as they likely need, and are opening basically ignoring that they already have an entire resort of studios. My feelings exactly.
In the transition, maybe. In steady-state, I suspect the answer is no.With PVB being an existing resort with existing members and points in existence, is it going to be challenging to book these categories especially at peak travel period?
Thank you so much! We are so excited at the prospect of joining, really should've done it years ago tbh! Getting so impatient waiting on the details to be released of the new contracts available at Poly!Hi I’m a direct (at Saratoga) and resale (at poly) DVC owner from the uk, if you have any questions please feel free to pop me a message and I’ll do my best to help answer.
I agree. With most of the 2BRs being lock-offs, I think the answer is very different for somebody mostly booking 1BRs vs somebody mostly booking 2BRs. The latter will be almost impossible.
Agree with this. Been stalking 2 Br over at VDH with no success. They exists but not enough points declared to book one of the scarce rooms.I think they will be difficult until there are more points declared. This is the reason we are not even considering anymore.
So, in one way, I am happy because I really don’t need more points!
I’m in agreement that it may only be a temporary pain point until more inventory is declared. Maybe I’m overly optimistic as a PVB owner looking for 1 and 2 bedrooms, but I think if you own at PVB, then you’ll be able to get the rooms you want at 11 months. However, if you want Christmas, Easter, or 4th of July then you may have to fight the walkers. In the transition, maybe. In steady-state, I suspect the answer is no.
The Great Fear about VGF2 was that it would make the larger villas impossible to book, because they added a bunch of studios to an existing association, significantly increasing the studio/larger villa mix. But, that hasn't happened yet. You could argue that's because the extra studio points aren't already sold, but I still suspect the 1BRs in particular will remain "not too hard" for those with VGF points, if only because of the structural problem of 1BRs being over-pointed.
Poly is going in the other direction, from effectively zero larger villas to more. I don't see a reason why it would be fundamentally different from VGF once both are in steady state, and while it is still possible that demand for larger villas will exceed supply by the home resort owners, I think it is unlikely. If anything Poly has an advantage in that its studios are a lot more functional than the typical DVC studio.
