Can't help but be disappointed with the deluxe studio. The photo makes it look bigger than it actually is. Seemed very small in the video, and I was hoping for (2) sinks like the original deluxe studios. I dislike the pull down bed location and the placement of the kitchenette area. For the room type, just makes everything feel small IMO.

Thankfully you always have the option of staying at the original if you want more space for the studio ( Which I assume they were thinking the same when making these )

They're fine, but small. This is going to be a trend going forward. This looks like one of the earth rooms, I guess.

Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, Heart --- Go Planet!

I upgraded from a studio to a one bedroom villa. I’m surprised at how little the cash price differs compared to the typical almost doubling of DVC points to move from a studio to a one bedroom.
I find it odd too with Disney cash pricing on most resorts. It is usually a couple hundred dollar difference. That is why I feel 1 bedrooms are not a good value if booking points vs cash

The living space in the one and two bedroom villas looks so narrow in the photos. I wonder how the sq ft will compare to other resorts. These rooms appear smaller than RIV.
Agreed! Between the narrow-ish looking rooms, the golf course "preferred view", and the projected large number of studios vs 1bdr and 2bdr options, I gotta say I'm a little disappointed in these decisions Disney made that were very clearly driven by financials instead of putting their loyal customers first. Otherwise, I think they knocked it out of the park.

I just ran some cash numbers for 2 nights in January for a 1 bedroom PV at both PVB tower and RIV. The tower is about $100/night more. So, I am going to guess that we see the charts to be a mix of RIV and VGF for the larger units.

But is this part of Disney’s green initiative? Studios traditionally did not have dishwashers until this tower. Based on what Disney has posted, looks like the duo studios will have a full kitchenette like the deluxe studios minus the queen bed.

I believe she mentioned that in the video.

Cash rates for 1 bedrooms do not correlate with the way points are done. It is much cheaper to upgrade on the cash side of things than the point side of things.

I have a feeling that we may not be seeing the other views because this is only cash bookings....unless all of the studios and 1 bedrooms that are SV, and PV, are dedicated.
I'm trying to understand the mechanics of this.

All of the Dedicated 2BRs are Theme Park View, and they are breaking all of the lock-offs into 1BR/Studio for cash bookings?

Or they have 2BR S/P views, but are keeping them in reserve and aren't booking them for cash at all?

If they are dedicated, would that help with availabilityy?

Its either they are not allowing the lock offs to be booked in the lower levels, or, my guess, is that they are not opening all the SV and PV studio and 1 bedrooms for cash bookings.

But, unless those studios and 1 bedrooms are all dedicated rooms, they have to have some 2 bedroom lock offs in the building....It could be a situation like some of the current resorts that some views never show up as an option for cash...

I'm thinking the only way it would make sense to not have ANY 2BR S/P rooms in the booking engine would be if they were all lock-offs, and the only dedicated 2BR were TPV? Or else they are just holding inventory in reserve...

I can see why Disney would split them up for cash bookings. Looking at a random date (March 10th):

$2,121 = TPV 2BR

vs

$1,243 = TPV Studio
$1,543 = TPV 1BR
$2,786 = combined

If they are dedicated, would that help with availabilityy?

If there are truly no 2 bedroom lock offs with those views...which I have a hard time believing...and these are all dedicated, it will help for those room sizes becuase there would be no 2 bedroom lock off booking to knock them out.
