Is your house to big, to small, or just right?

Mine is TOOOO small.
It's about 1,200 sq.feet and there are 6 of us, 4 kids and us! And our one bathroom is only 5' x 9', that is a small bathroom for us. We REALLY, REALLY need to build an upstairs. We are hoping to do so next summer.

Ours feels too small for us and all our stuff most days - but it's far too big on cleaning days. Does that make sense?

Ours is just right for us now, I really love the size of it. But as our boys grow and if we have a 4th baby, things might get a bit tight!

Most times it seems fine. However on days when DD and DH have stuff all over the place I dream of a bigger house, but we only have 4 years left on the mortgage so we're not going anywhere.

It's just right. It's a little over 1800 sq ft, has 4 bedrooms (one of which we are trying to turn into an office for dh) and two full baths. The kitchen is REALLY small---two is a crowd in there. I've seen bigger apartment kitchens. We have a decent size living room that is kinda divided into two areas---one for TV and one for computers. Our backyard is HUGE. We have the "front-backyard" and the "back-backyard". I'd love to have a pool someday. Other then the small kitchen my biggest complaints are the location of the garage, the fact we have a one car drive way, and the layout of the master bath.

Just got our house after being stuffed into a tiny townhouse. We combined two households so it was pretty tight even though there are only 3 of us. Now my house is PERFECT!!! I can even buy new things without having to get rid of something.

I'm in love with my house.

We have a 1200 sq ft house with 4 people in it. Sometimes, it's just right, but when the kids are done playing it feels way too small!!!!

For my next house I want at least 1800 sq ft with 4 bedrooms or a 3 bdrm with a den/office space, even if it's over the garage!

If I had what we have now plus a playroom and an office, I'd be happy.

We have 4 bedrooms now & one is mine & dh's, one for each boy & one is the office. I hate not having a guest bedroom.

And, right now our dining room is a playroom. We have to take all the toys out to the garage for holidays, when we actually want to dine in the dining room.

It'll be perfect size after the boys leave. Right now it's a hair small especially with low ceilings and tall sons!!

That's our house too. We have the dining table in the basement. When my parents come to visit is the only time we set it up.

We could go with smaller, if we didn't entertain big group. Our house is 1400 sq ft, not counting the finished basement. 2 of the rooms on the first floor are empty (Great room and dining room). We have a small family room in the basement that I love more than the great room upstairs, I need the small cozy feeling. We just cleared out the dining room, which is were our desk was, so we can now get a dining room table. I like the size, but if we had to go smaller we could do that.

Too small. But my kids love their schools and we like our neighbors and there really aren't any bigger houses in the neighborhood. We've added on (all that the city will let us). What is amazing and pretty darned sad is that while now we're bursting at the seams with 3 kids, in 10 years the youngest will be headed off to college!

But we do intend to build a lap pool, hot tub, etc...really fix up the back yard so that it can be used more for living space. (Anyone know a good landscape architect in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area?)

It was just right when we had this house built in 10 years ago, ours is about 1,800 (if I remember correctly.) We have 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths.

Now we could use at least another 800 square feet!

Oh...and our dining room is also a play room at the moment!

2200 square feet for 1 person - way too big. That is part of the reason I am getting ready to sell it.

My house is just right...now. We are almost finished adding on an 1200 sq ft addition. We had a 1400 sq ft house, but with 3 kids and 5 more daycare children at home every day, the house was just toooo small!

we have 2 rooms with barely any furniture in it. and we've used our formal dining room twice I think
it's our second home and the one we plan to 'start our family in'

so, eventually, it'll be just right.

Way too big for 2 people. Lots of wasted space and rooms we never use.
