Is your house to big, to small, or just right?

I'd say a little too small. The fact that is 100% paid for makes it just right!

Definetely too small compared to other families who we know that dont live in our neighborhood. We have a 4 bedroom ranch, but I would say little ds room is more like a closet than a room, actually our other house in texas had a walk in closet probably almost as big as his room. We have 2 baths, so that is good, but no basement and a 2 car garage. No one puts their cars in the garage here, we have to put all our junk. We have a living room and a small area off the kitchen that is only big enough for a little love seat for the ds, the computer and a tv, so they really cant have any space for themselves if they want friends over etc. Oldest ds has a weight bench in his room, so there is not much room in there now. But its ours, so that is what is important.

Depends. It is 3600 sq ft and sits on 1/2 acre. We have 4 bedrooms and all the other stuff including a 3 car garage and it still seems too small. On the other hand I hate to clean it. Takes me two days a week to clean everything. I would love to go bigger if it came with a maid, gardener, and chef.

Family of 4 and 1 dog
2400 Sq ft 4 bedroom house....just right.....
3200 sq ft of clutter and useless items...TOO BIG!
We're pathetic pack rats.
o.k., I do covet a 3 car garage..but it's just not gonna happen, besides, I'd probably STILL not have room for our cars! :o

Just right. 2600 sq ft, 4 BR 3 1/2 BA, full basement. 2 people and 4 pug dogs full-time, DD16 part time.

We mainly just live downstairs. The entire upstairs is DD16. 2 BR, 2 BA + den.

The child has it made.

Ours is just over 1700 square feet and it's mostly fine for the three of us. It has a relatively small living room (which I wanted), a dining room, nice big kitchen, big office, decent size entry hall (I love nice entries!), large master and two other small bedrooms. The small bedrooms are the biggest headache since DS doesn't have enough space. I would combine them but there's a bathroom in between. The office is open on one wall to the hall and I've thought about eventually walling it off and turning it into a bedroom for DS.

I would say just right. 3 of us in over 1800 sf. - single level. We have a "great room" with kitchen, living and dining rooms all combined into one giant room. DD17 and master bedrooms attached and a spare 3rd bedroom with NASCAR & DISNEY memorbillia/photos down the hall with the laundry room

I love it.:)

3200 square feet with just my DS#2 (age 19) and I living here. (The spoils of divorce). I really would love to downsize, but the boys aren't ready to give up "home".

Love my family room, though. 18 X 21 ft -- it's just the perfect size!

Our house is tiny, but I think its just right. :) Its just under 1200 square feet, and there are 4 of us, but I like that its small. Less to clean, less to worry about. It also forces me to be a minimilist and not fill my house with a bunch of crap....don't have enough room for it. The only thing I would change about it is its only 1 full bathroom.

My house sounds like the tiniest one here. It's about 800 sq ft. I want bigger!

Ours is 1600 sq ft. but it is 3 stories....which makes for small rooms....there are 6 of us and 2 beagles....definately TOO SMALL!!

We have plans for an addition but dh just lost his job so that will have to wait....but hopefully not to long....as we have 4 bedrooms but to get to my boys room onthe 3rd floor you have to go through my youngest dd's bedroom....which is ok while she is 7 but in a year or 2 that might be a problem...

Ours is just right for the five of us and after I have the massive garage sale I'm planning, it'll feel just right, too. :jester:

I have no idea how many square feet my house is. It is a good size for us but I would love a 4th bedroom. My grandmother visits for long periods of time and I have to put her on a pull out bed in a little sewing room that isn't much bigger than a walk in closet. I'd like a room for her. On the other hand, our downstairs is too big and often too much to clean.

Too small.... It was perfect (although still onthe small side) when we had two kids, but The Boy runied everything (joking)

We are building a second story... adding about 1500 Sq ft.

While construction is going on, we moved into another house we own and normally rent out. This house is WAY WAY WAY WAY to small for us. I think a OKW 2 bedroom villa is larger than this place!

Just right! I inherited my parent's home that my father designed and contracted to have built. It has a large living room, huge kitchen/dining room (I swear I have the Walton's dining room table!), large pantry/laundry room, 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths , 1 car garage, and a sun porch- my favorite room with 6 person hot tub, TV, VCR, DVD player, small refrigerator, Disney memoribilia, and is decorated Wilderness Lodge style with moose antlers, totem pole, fake bear head mounted that sings the "doo-dah" song, huge turtle shell and 12 huge windows for a great view of yard and woods. It is just DH and I along with a Jack Russell at this time. We also have a workshop that is a miniature version of the house that has A/C, phone, heat, etc. that is great during hurricanes.

TOO SMALL! We are in a rental home, it's about 1000 sq ft with 2 bed/1 bath, and it's poorly laid out... 1000 sq ft can be massive if set out right. ours is not.

just right we moved from 1200 sf to 1950 sf with a full basement all the kids now have their own rooms:sunny:

When we moved in it was too big for the 2 of us. (2400 sq. ft. on an acre lot.)

Now with 3 children it is too small. Only 3 bedrooms. My 10 and 2 year old sons have to share a room. Not a problem now but will be when my oldest becomes a teenager.

Are we going to upsize? No. We will make do with what we have because we love our neighborhood. The new 4-5 bedroom homes in our neighborhood are going for 375,000 to 500,000. We're not going to be a slave to a mortgage.

Mine is too small for us. It is about 2000 sq feet, but it only has 3 bedrooms and 1 1/2 bath With 3 girls...2 of them teens I really need another full bathroom. I would also like another bedroom and a small room for me for my computer, my desk and my sewing machine. I would also love a bigger kitchen, mine is so small there is barely room for a table. Right now my 14 and 11 yr old share a room. the 16 yr old has her own room, but it is very tiny...it would be the perfect size for me to put my stuff in though. The 2 youngest are always complaining about sharing a room and I'm tired of getting up 2-3 hours before I start work to get bathroom time in the mornings during the school year.
